| This series is very sad but has beautiful moments. I'm really enjoying it so far. The supernatural family stuff is definitely going to be the source of a lot of drama going forward. Also I'm surprised Miyo didn't run into her sister when they were in town. Seemed like they were setting it up when that one guy suggested they go into town to check out that new store or whatever. |
| Miyo's smile completed this sweet episode. She's finally in an environment where she's treated like a proper human being. Love to see every bit of happiness she get's to experience. Yurie's enthusiasm is precious too and Kudo's reaction to a dressed up Miyo made it obvious that he won't give up on her xD The political intrigue will intensify. |

| Legit got teary-eyed during Miyo's dialogue that even if she thinks that she's deceiving Kudo about her background, she wants to stay with him and just face the consequences later ;; Then we get to the last part with Kudo knowing about it and instead of Miyo's expectations of being thrown away, Kudo thinks about her healing. CRIES! Godo, the kimono shop owner, and Yurie noting that Kudo is acting differently because of Miyo ohoho. When he also acknowledged it by the end hahaha. Even if Kudo thinks his actions are nothing special, deciding to give Miyo a kimono that is suited for the next season aka he is thinking of them being together until that time, oh i love it. Thinking of re-reading these chapters again because I can't remember if Kudo was this expressive - like him smiling more and being surprised when he saw Miyo before they went out. Seeing the contrasting POVs of Miyo not seeing herself as anything worthy, and Kudo treating her kindly and wanting to know about her :') I wonder if Miyo will actually have powers. It would be interesting if Miyo would really not have any, but given its special trait (of power over the mind? mind control?) she might have just not realized it yet. The bits of supernatural elements mixed with the old Japan setting is interesting. |
| I like the direction and the music. It feels somewhat like a Ghibli movie, but with a story that seems more like that from historical biopics that always end up winning most of the prizes. Of course, it's Kinema Citrus. A "ghiblesque" feeling with somewhat different themes is what also made me like Made in Abyss a lot. I hope this anime continues like that. Other than the slightly slow pacing, I'm really liking it. |

| loved loved loved this episode. visuals were stunning, even with that cgi car, i really enjoyed all the flower imagery and seeing miyo get dressed up was adorable. overall looking forward to more, and hoping we get some more information on her family's past. really cute to see kudo unintentionally taking a liking for miyo. |

| Miyo and Kudou's date was lovely, and the headpat from Kudou was adorable. Now that Kudou knows about Miyo's abusive past in the Saimori household, he hired a detective to find out the truth. It'll be interesting to see how Kudou responds to this information and what action he might take against the Saimori family. Additionally, we learn about Miyo's mother, Sumi, who was trapped in a marriage influenced by her clan's power struggles, as she came from the famous Usuba bloodline. This bloodline is rumored to possess rare supernatural abilities that can manipulate human minds. It's likely that Sumi sealed Miyo's powers, explaining why she hasn't displayed any supernatural abilities yet. |
| This wasn't my favourite episode so far, but I still enjoyed it. Some sweet moments and a bit more insight into the families (though I had to watch parts of that scene more than once to make sure I had things straight. I'm loving their pretty eyes! |

| Thank God Miyo and Kaya didn't cross paths in the city. Pretty sure they eventually will tho, but at least it didn't happen this early in the series. There is no need to make this show more dramatic than it already is. That said, lovely first date and that sakura-themed kimono sure looked gorgeous. Looking forward to seeing Miyo wearing it. |

| I am by no means a Japanese speaker. My only "knowledge" comes from Anime and the 1-off app lessons from a language app. The sub quality for Netflix is jut not good. I feel the subs are forcing a narrative for each character that is making them so one dimensional. I find myself reading the subs and then questioning if its the actual translation, then going back to hear the dialogue again, confirming my suspicions. I want to like this anime so bad. But the subs are just not doing it for me. I'm hoping to find different subs for the remainder of the show, or start watching it without the subs. |
| nice to see the 2 going on a date, as well as the reactons from people like their maid, the shop woman or the guy from the army also nice to see that, unlike what FMC things, MMC already knows about her lack of power, so nothing should happen coming from him that being said, there's still the bad side, the guy who was talking to her father is probably going to make things problematic also, katon gokakyu no jutsu :D |

| Kiyoka, seemingly concerned about Miyo's upbringing, questions her about her intentions, but Miyo stubbornly refuses to concede to his demands, which he plays along with, at least for now. With that, the new couple's first date is set. With help from Yurie, Miyo gets her makeup done to the amusement of Kiyoka, though he drops by his workplace to settle some matters first. Godo Yoshito sure can b a prankster knowing that the Commander has an esteemed guest, to make fun of him. But otherwise, the first date goes with the intent that Kiyoka wants the best for Miyo, and that he does not think of her as a nuisance. Though in the families' case, Miyo is more willingly to be thrown out like the trash in favour of Kaya being wed to the Kudos. Onto the Suzushimaya Kimono shop where the Kudos have been patrons ever since, Kiyoka wants to give Miyo the treatment she should've been deserved of the Saimori family, getting her a kimono and treating her like an actual young lady from a man who's slowly falling in love with her, though they still have the marriage preparations in tow, which scares Miyo that she isn't the supernatural girl that he comes to seek her of. The gift of a well-endowed comb, meaning a proposal, Kiyoka knows the meaning, though Yurie fully supports their marriage together. Looking inward to the family issues, Kiyoka understands the full gravity of the Saimori family of how they mistreated Miyo, it's clear that whatever gifts were given to her, the scars are too deep to ever repair her broken heart and soul, more or less coming from a heritage that is as rich: the impossible-to-track Usuba family which has that special ability. And the presence of the shikigami spying on him, it's clear that this is a ploy to set him up as well. Getting Miyo out of the family scuffle is first and foremost. |

| Well, there go my hopes for her father. Asshole through and through. Although learning that he too, just like his own son in law, had to marry someone other than the woman he loved explains his resentment of Miyo and the treatment of her mother's belongings to at least some extent. |

| Just here to rant that the anime did not do justice to one of my favorite lines in the manga. In the kimono shop, Kudou was supposed to say something along the lines of “she can wear it again next spring/season” (referring to the kimono design which is getting out of season soon). This was a very sweet remark for me since he was thinking of still being with her the following year. I feel better letting that out and sharing this sweet moment with everyone too. It’s such a typical Cinderella story but I love this so much 🥺 |

| Loved the date, especially at the kimono shop. Miyo looking around so amazed with everything was really cute, and Kiyoka buying her all those new kimonos was so sweet. I can't believe that Miyo is still mending her old kimonos by herself like that ;-; it's so sad to see, I'm glad Kiyoka and Yurie noticed And ayy, Kiyoka got what he was asking for: a smiling Miyo I'm starting to really dig the family politicking. Loved that private investigator scene. At first, I kind of felt the magic was out of place. But since it seems it will play an integral part in the story, I can't help but be more interested in it now. |
