| Morality was born among humans for them to protect themselves because if they say it's "wrong to kill" they will be able to survive longer... Men created moralities to protect themselves and to have control over the masses. In my mere opinion morality is important, but it complicates more than it helps in many cases, for example I am against the death penalty but if the abused person's family or the abused person wants to take revenge on his abuser, the government shouldn't get itself into that situation; another example is abortion, religious people keep saying "it's a life" but they don't care about the person's life. |

| I don't think teaching morality leads to more immoral things happening. The concept of morality has changed a lot over the years. Also, you note these bad things as being "outcomes of teaching morality", but I see them more as problems slipping through the cracks. We know there's still bad actors out there and we generally turn a blind eye if we benefit from that immorality, eg. child slaves in Africa making metals cheaper is something we all benefit from even if we'd rather that exploitation didn't happen, and throwing out the idea of morality being wouldn't decrease that exploitation either. Animals kill each other all the time. It's not uncommon in some species for parents to eat their children. Returning to a simpler life doesn't mean less suffering. |
