| Another great episode. This obviously is way different compared to what we're used to from season 1. Going from constant fighting and Thorfinn trying to get his revenge on Askeladd to a farmer life is something I have to get used to, to say the least. Still, I'm enjoying every second of it. Ketil seems like a good guy, at least from what I can tell so far. Giving his "slaves" the chance to work towards their freedom surprised me a lot and is a best case scenario most other slaves could only wish for. Thorfinn's change on the other hand cannot be ignored. He seems to have lost any sort of emotion. Even when those jerks almost ate their whole lunch, he made no move other than to thank them. I'm not saying that this was a wrong decision, but knowing Thorfinn's character, usually he would've reacted differently. At the very beginning I even though he forgot how to speak lol. Whereas Einar represents the complete opposite which creates an interesting dynamic. I guess men are always helpless when it comes to a beautiful woman. I see you Einar ;) And then there's Olmar, the spoiled and ungrateful son of Ketil, who clearly has no clue what it means joining an army and going to war. I feel bad for Ketil since it's obvious that he only wants the best for his son. Cracked me up when the parents of that girl were patiently waiting for "round 2" to begin between her and Olmar. If Einar only knew the truth about Thorfinn and all the cruel things he experienced. I honestly can't wait for the moment where this gets revealed. |

| I really enjoyed this episode. To see Thorfinn be the complete opposite of who he was, almost completely docile, but aware of his past, and having to perhaps revisit and reconcile with that past now that Einar is reminding him of it is, in my opinion, excellent storytelling. It's very subtle, but a great way to use what was introduced in the first season and build on it. I think I'm going to like this season a lot more than the first one. The animation looks very crisp and I liked the overall serene atmosphere of the episode despite all the screaming that bratty farmer son did. |

| Thorfinn has changed. I wonder how he ended up working as a slave on this farm. Liked the scene with Einar and Thorfinn lying down, just before going to sleep. Einar is making Thorfinn revisit his past. The bit with the farm owner's son trying to draw his sword from the back was hilarious and realistic. |

| Man, it's so strange to see Thorfinn of all people so broken though it's understandable since taking revenge on Askeladd was all he had. Apart from Thorfinn, we have Einar here with a disdain for people going to war. I wonder how he will react when he learns that Thorfinn was one of those people. Forgiveness? Hatred? Remains to be seen. Contrasting that, we have Olmar here who wants to go to war most likely unaware of the suffering that comes with it, and get out of his father's shadow. We were so close to an adult scene there if not for those two adults blabbering so close to the door. (Now that I think about it, I haven't ever read hentai with VS-like girls...)  |

| Hopefully, yes. I thought the art style and art direction was gorgeous. That's more important for this arc, compared to the last arc's focus on movement and fluidity in animation. |

| Whoa... the last scene made my heart ache. Seriously... this anime... I knew what I was expecting this season but man, I am LOVING this. Every moment, no matter how small it seems, is actually significant. I loved that moment when Einar was so heated but one glance at a beautiful woman was enough to make everything silent. It was love at first sight. And it was directed so beautifully. Even I felt in love... and I'm a woman. Btw I surprisingly liked that young master lmao! He's so naive but at least he's dreaming high and he could see people's intentions. He acted like some spoiled kid but he actually cared when the wheat were being stepped on. Hope he'll be alright. XD |

| Seeing Thorfinn mature and so detached from reality makes me so depressed. Mans been through some shit. But hey. At least he got a new friend and co-worker to share the suffering. Einar is also on the same boat as Thorfinn. Both are working as slave farmers for a rich master. In 3 years no time, they should be able to gain freedom from wheat harvest farming. So the rich master says. This is gonna be an emotional wild ride of a season for sure. I can see character development blossoming in the future. |

| Their master might be kindhearted but his retainers sure ain't. Damn, Thorfinn's personality has changed so much. I can somewhat empathise with Olmar. He wants to chase glory but all he gets is talk about inheriting his father's farm and even the other farmers are using their daughters to secure their futures. He fantasizes about war thinking it'll bring glory but in reality, it's mostly just pain and misery. I'm not sure but was Thorfinn attacking Einar's village when he was younger and on Askeladd's ship? |
