They did away with this structure with this retelling, but time will tell if the dramatic effect is made better or worse. | I started watching it without prior knowledge about the plot known from the original anime adaptation, and without reading many chapters of the source material, and I had a lot of fun. Nothing has left me confused. So yeah, you can easily watch and enjoy Trigun Stampede, even if you do enter its world without any previous experience with the franchise. Also, it's not a sequel or spin-off, so no need to watch the original show if you don't want to, or don't want to watch it before finishing Trigun Stampede. |

| Just watched the first episode. You don't need to have seen the original to have seen this. However, it spoils a ton of stuff from the original - late-game revelations and development are just initial backstory here. We don't know how this will turn out, but so far, the first episode feels far less nuanced and more shallow. I would definitely recommend checking out the original first. |

| yeah your just doing yourself a major disservice watching this one first, its 1st episode basically spoils a gigantic chunk of both the original manga and TV series and its really just a shame to waste all that just to follow whats gonna essentially be another story of trigun made for people that already went through them. |
