I was hoping for more, it is the end of the season for this anime as the closure was pretty weak. I would like to see another season, the development of Ashito as a player was pretty interesting.

Kaneda. He's not that bad. He just lack good attitude and mentality, like bruh Akkutsu at. Good that his captain was so damn wise and giving him a good last push, even though its already way too late for Musashino United FC. Better luck next time and wish for him to be a better person on the next future, if the show amended to make his appearance again.

Four person got promoted, Tachibana not joining the gang actually quite sad, until, damn Fukuda also a receive a deadly cutting injury story, then Hana kissing Aoi! Man this is actually almost perfect, with the satisfying match, and the romance bit. But where the hell the next season announcement at? Oh well, reading the source here i come!

Not the best adaptation, but overall it's solid. They could have added more illustration when they explain about diagonal runs like in the manga. Pretty sure many people still don't understand how significant it is, in relation with zonal marking.
The last scene with Hana is so awkward lol.

7/10, a pretty decent for a new team.

I was crying a lot :p - I’m gladly wait 5 years for season 2, but I’m hoping for a near future of it. They got the ending so neatly together and I’m just sad it’s over for now.

Holy shit, that was a fucking incredible match and last episode. Aoi was a MONSTER throughout this episode. Can say the same about his teammates who helped him. Definitly hoping for a second season. It's close to a 10 but I'm not fond of the love triangle and the stuff about Kaneda made it so uninteresting for a while but it got back to good shit.
Animation was decent which also affected the enjoyment a bit. What's the point of a football anime if every frame is still. Aside from that, the openings and endings were incredible and the overall vibe of the anime was amazing.

I longed for this anime I guess. It captured quite a lot about the sport. Its not just not a good football anime but sport anime in general. They did the off the action stuff quite well, albeit some hiccups in some episode. A very solid 8/10

This was satisfying to watch. The game itself, even if they cut part of it. The post-game gathering, the celebration, Aoi's scene with Nozomi, quite literally everything. And the RAIN at the end, the environment was stellar. I would like to see who keeps shilling for Hana, though, because SHE feels like the figurative sponsor's daughter: inorganic, less than authentic, nobody needs her, but she's shoved in anyway because her name brings money. Incidentally, THAT character at least deconstructs things on the field and offers explanations for those not into soccer, so at least she's useful. Would've preferred Aoi calling home to relay the news to his family instead tbh.

Having said all that - second season when? Because this anime was a joy to watch and definitely deserves, nay, needs it.

One of the best sports anime of recent years, can easily go toe to toe with Haikyuu and Diamond no Ace. Wouldn't be surprised if we get a second season, since the ending really gives the impression.

i have a feeling of happiness mixed up with a feeling of emptiness, it was an awesome journey, but it's also over right now. it will be hard not having aoashi on saturdays, but i hope they announce a second season soon enough, this anime deserves, it was so damn good

if not im going to read the manga hahaha

I really liked it I already predicted that aoi and togashi will move to team A but we also got kuroda and ohtomo also got promoted.
This was more like one big backstory all-in-all now season 2 will begin probably in the future and the struggle for aoi and other players to keep up with the A team players like kuribayashi will continue.
That kiss from the fan to motivate her favourite player was wholesome. Now I'm have my exam nearing and ao ashi is the last anime I'm watching before the exams. Now will wait for announcement of season 2 . But in case they didn't announce it I will definitely read the the manga to see where the story goes.
Overall 9/10

As a manga reader let me just say.. I'm satisfied. We could've got better animation but it is what it is. Better than no anime at all, and the anime gave more publicity to the series. The story is enough to carry it especially in the 2nd half. Though some scenes did hit harder with music, like when Hana remembered Fukuda's injury this episode.

Hopefully we get a 2nd season announcement soon! Or.. alternatively.. you know, you can.. read the manga.

Very Good end/pause for a very good season/anime...

Many Sports anime series.... but mostly of those are always bad...

This was one more exception to that..

Nice Work... ill wait for the 2nd Season.

Tokyo Esperion's diagonal run has secured the equalizer, and they feel more confident now that this is their key to winning the match against Musashino.

Aoi's moving his team around like a chessboard despite being a full-back/defender, and he feels great with the others following his lead and slowly confusing Musashino's defense like a devil, to score yet another goal. From then on, it's a complete rout onto Esperion's victory road, even to the point of Kaneda feeling like his year of training for this very day, all came undone. And to Musashino, Kaneda is their only current stronghold, and throughout their history as the inferior J-Youth group all the while, it's of no doubt with Coach Satake bringing him in is a sign of chance and vengeance against their long-standing mortal enemy that is Tokyo Esperion.

At the end of the day, Esperion won 4-2 against Musashino, and the 2nd half was definitely a strain on everyone. But where's there's risk will see rewards, and Aoi and his pals are promoted into the A team. Aoi, most certainly was thankful for Coach Nozomi's teachings and Coach Satake's speech about him as a so-so player but with techniques that only Esperion can muster him together. However, one minor slip and he (like the rest) will fall back to the B team, so take things one step at a time and grow.

While the rest are celebrating their promotions, Aoi chooses to take a walk outside in the rain, which Hana caught up with him and he celebrated the same with her. Though he was definitely surprised that she hugged him instead, and both hid in the nearest shelter amidst the heavy rain. Hana was defo looking for her old man Fukuda with the same esteemed feelings from back then she was a kid (but with Aoi being the next generation's stand-out), but with his injury, she can only cheer Aoi on as a replacement, which he is OK with her passing all the support from her traumatic past.

The encouragement from Hana to Aoi as a fan though, it's the aforementioned kiss on the forehead (which manga readers have been waiting for). And to Aoi and the others, their start line into Tokyo Esperion's A team has just begun.

What a great series, hope a Season 2 will be announced in the near future.

Even though the Musashino vs. Esperion game was rushed and underdeveloped, I'm glad they ended it on a high note. It's nice to see Aoi finally walk onto the team A field. Oh, and dang! That HanaxAshito moment is sooo cute! I remembered re-reading those specific chapters in the manga before.

Although the animation quality of the entire anime was inconsistent, and they had to skip some important parts of the manga, I believe Ao Ashi still excelled in telling Aoi's meaningful and inspiring journey. The characters are also quite relatable, unique, and endearing, which adds to the overall appeal of the story. However, if you want a more in-depth understanding of Aoi's soccer journey, I highly recommend the manga. Reading the manga will almost certainly increase your enjoyment of Ao Ashi's story.

In any case, a sequel is a must! Hopefully, they will be able to continue adapting the story because there is still so much for Ao Ashi fans to watch.
