| No, it doesn't make much sense to hate new fans just for being new fans, since everyone started out that way at some point, no matter how long they've been watching anime or how much they've seen. And I'm sure a lot of us once had views or habits that seemed really obnoxious or close-minded to long-time fans, but we changed over time. The same thing will happen to today's new fans, and they it'll be their turn to be annoyed by even newer fans. |

| I don't really engage in the fandom that much anymore so I probably don't see most of the annoying aspects (which honestly exists in any space if you're an adult in surrounded by lots of kids/teens) but in general I think it's nice that liking anime isn't as uncool as it used to be when I was in school. I honestly would've loved to grow up in this age, or at least I would've had an easier time making real life friends. |

| Yeah I read you, I don't hate newcomers and I think the hate they get it's going a bit too far, I hate it when newcomers act like why would I watch an old or non mainstream anime?, like most already mentioned here. | Well I have only been in this hobby three years or so roughly so I guess I'm still a newbie in terms of anime experience, I welcome new anime fans more people consuming the media is good for the industry, what I don't like is fake anime fans and what I mean is the clout chasers and activists who actually hate the medium and just want to use it for political talking points. |
| I hate people that have rules in their head about watching Anime, ever time I see someone saying they can't watch it because it's old, not dubbed, chines, not shiny, not shonen, it literally kills me. As someone that loves everything seeing people hating on something just because it's old is beyond sad. What about this old masterpices, will the fanbase just die out because newer fans are to dumb to even try them, and that's what's really sad. |

I don't hate social media nor anime stuff, I hate "anime" stuff, like going full weeaboo. Chainsaw Man readers barking at cosplays, influencer girls doing "anime faces" and "moe stuff", people throwing random japanese words and nyas when writing or even talking, things like that, it's all cringy for me, and it all seems fake to me, stuff just done to grow a fanbase of, precisely, newcomers that only watch mainstream stuff. But I guess that's common among people that's new to the medium. |

Hype culture ruins franchises with potential, forcing them to whore out to please the largest audience possible... Hype culture also put mediocrities or morally bankrupt horrors in a pedestal, giving the community an awful rep. So yeah, I can sometimes react passionately and curse the young generation, but I don't think it's a genuine generational hatred, when it comes to me. Because if I think you're a cool zoomer, I will still take your opinions and suggestions into account. On the other hand, I know I can never befriend anyone I listed above. |

Look, I didn't exactly take screenshots of every instance someone wanted to be a social justice warrior over some trivial shit, especially since my goal was to avoid interacting with them. And Google searching my name with someone who wanted to get me involved is more effort that I'm willing to put in; between them showing up as "removed_user" and the likelihood of me remembering a high percentage of my posts by exact words being very low. So, you can either take my word for it given how active I am, or ask around by making a thread in CD if you want that history lesson. |
