What does have "waiting 5 years" have to do with how it is drawn? The bad thing with that draw are that the hands look too big, I don't even currently remember how it was animated but I'm sure it was just Koenji moving his mouth and I'm sure that wasn't badly animated.

also from where did they got the 5 years? the season 2 barely got announced last year

If we wait for an anime 5 years we should be getting good drawings because they've had so much time to work on this new season.

The power point like animation is quite apparent here in this episode 5, alot of just the mouth moving at that....

I'm wondering if this quality of animation is standard for this studio....

I have recently been watching their previous work, Idoly Pride for example, the differences in animation is apparent as well..... Episode 9 feels like a slideshow at times.....but in episode 10, where there are 2 animated musical performances (ie the studio needs to put extra work in), the quality of the animations throughout the episode, not just the performances, seem better....and those look like pretty nicely done 2D-cel mocap/rotoscoped performances too, not the overly slick awkward 3D ones like you see in Bang! Perhaps it was yet another case of outsourced studio for Ep9, then the main studio for Ep10....just like what we are seeing here in Episode 5 of COTE S2.

But I judge the quality of the animation from the floor up, and seems the quality of the animation seems to be on the downhill slope then too.....its quite interesting that its standards were slipping since then in Winter 2021, and has carried over to COTE S2.

It actually does since the 5 years doesn't translate to the amount of time spent animating it. And speaking of preparation, is it even known when they began?

Are they still outsourcing episodes or did they decide to cut lower the animation quality themselves?

This was one of the animes I was excited for the most.. I hope they don't mess it up any further..
