When I wrote my review here (it's my best rated review), I had just read the movie production arc. I'm good at looking for the good points of a story, Everyone may be like that when it's about an anime they like. But now Reiji was finally able to destroy everything I described as "good" before. This last arc is one of the worst arcs I have ever watched in all manga I have read. The author could develop the actions with any other scenary, he could've used a more realistic one. But no. He chose to send all the important characters to the same place in a nonsense trip that Kazuya's grandma paid for everyone for no reason. After that, we just watched Reiji trying to make the story longer by the most shameful and desperate ways. You can read the chapters and feel the author's intention of wasting pages to finish the chapter and release. As if it was a scholar work you had to submit to your teacher with no actual will of doing it. This last chapter was the final gift. When Reiji showed us that no matter how terrible KanoKari becomes, it always can get worse. He always used Kazuya as resource to waste pages. He just made him repeat the same "praises" to Mizuhara or Ruka's perfect bodies and a couple of pages disappeared. But now he got the lowest. He destroyed Kazuya's dignity showing him imagining a NTR involving the girl he loves and after released a doujin in the place of a chapter. That's unforgivable and shameful.

I can understand your frustration, in the actual manga though Kazuya has just been rejected by Chizuru. He is in total despair imaging who she would rather be with while underwater in a pool bawling his eyes out. He really mans up and accepts that he will never be with Chizuru and puts forward a painful but bright smile as he braces for his life that will no longer have her in it. I will admit his thoughts are a bit extreme but after reading the next chapter its really hard to not be proud of him. I was always on the fence about kazuya, wether he was a good character or not but after 219 chapters he finnaly won me over. It really illustrates just how pathetic he was as he forces himself to put those thoughts out of his head and accept a life without the person he loves the most in the world just because he thinks it's what is best for her. It's a truly selfless moment taken out of true love. To put a smile on your face in a moment of true pain and despair and soldier on... Thats the mark of a true man.

Its a tough slog for sure, the first nearly 75? chapters are hard to get through. Chizuru is one of the toughest nuts i have ever seen and it makes for the best romance story i have read. It takes about that long for reiji to express just how pathetic kazuya is; but when he finds out Chizuru is an actress and her promise to her dead grandfather and dieing grandmother... Well he does everything he can to make sure that her dreams come true Hes just like Chizurus Grandfather that she loved soo much and completes her grandfathers promise which takes an inordanate amount of really hard work and well some luck. Chizuru thinks the whole time hes only doing what he is out of pity for her (she ask's him four times and he denies telling her his feelings out of fear of loseing her in his life.) and then in one moment; Chizurus most desperate, most hopeless moment he turns that saddest moment into one of the happiest moments in her life and the seemingly indistructable Chizuru burst into tears for the first time since she was a child. It's a pathetically sad story of two people who love each other so much that they want to keep the other in their life no matter how much it hurts being with them but not able to be with them...

Having said this, I agree that this went on a path that shouldn't be crossed. I didn't expected a "harem" like this. I didn't expect the MC to get worse than what he started to be. I didn't expect this to turn in to a mess with lots of unnecessary situations. And lastly, I didn't expect to ever not be excited to read another chapter of this.

But sadly, here I am, not really too much excited about reading this nowadays. I was hoping the MC would completely change his attitude after being rejected, but here he is worse than ever.

Thanks for a sincere comment from someone that has been with this series since the start.

It's sad that they have to stretch this more than they should
