I'll be honest I expected more.
When I saw the score here and the trailer I thought it would be a great anime but it's just mid.
6/10 it got worse when Azalea showed up.

I'm surprised I enjoyed this show as much as I did. Like a lot of people, I was introduced to this show through the killer op, and I'm glad I decided to give it a chance. Here's to hoping for a season 2 announcement in the near future.

Awesome episode with amazing music(as always), Eiko's performance was the superb and gave a really nice conclusion to the series, I hope it gets a second season.
Really loved to watch this anime throughout this season, Eiko and Kongming are amazing and fun characters, I'm really gonna miss them.

The plot direction left a lot to be desired. First few episodes were gold with outplaying opponent and stuff.

Then, things went 180 degree when Kabe appeared out of nowhere but it’s okay and cool I guess. And for whatever reason, his appearance is a non-factor even in this final episode. Maybe he’ll be important later on but for now he’s more like a filler character.

Azalea huh. Can afford zeppelin advertising but can’t get a mere 100k likes. The band is cool and I like Nanami’s singing. Their identity crisis reflects on the current capitalistic world. Dream vs money. Never go wrong with these themes.

Dreamer is a good song but lacks impact IMO. I thought it would shake the street halfway through but no, it’s just a heartfelt chorus x3?

I miss the ridiculous Kongming’s strategies in the earlier episodes. This and last episode somewhat brings it back but lacks the wtf moment.
Truth is absolute but human perception of truth is always relative.

Damn this finale was just insane, really good episode might actually be the best one of the whole show.

I was honestly really impressed by how they animated the guitar, bass, and drums, it's very hard to animate it correctly.

All in all the underdog of the season. Really great music show with some weaknesses in the middle section. I wished they'd stick more with EDM music from the first episodes, but that's a little personal nitpick.
Would have given a 8/10, but to bump the rating up a bit it's going to be a 9 / 10.

And last: The OP is still a banger. Chiki chiki ban ban...
I'm not reading any replies or comments directed at me at all. I know my truth and if you disagree: that's fine but i couldn't give a damn about :)

Eiko's voice really does soothe the soul. Also tbh I liked Karasawa's sense with the music. Azalea sounded pretty gothic (ignore the dance tempo) with his support than the HS theme they had. Rocking like him in his old days.
And damn the animation sequence in this arc was amazing. That movement. the bass skills and the whole 360 pov thing was thrilling. Hope they have more for the second coming.

well several have said it already but it's worth repeating:
pros: a lot. what a great wholesome fun show. deserves a S2
cons: what the fick with Kabe? all those episodes rapping just for him to be a... crowd
heckler? really disappointed on his non-existent role.

I'm glad that Karasawa wasn't just some one-dimensional bad guy who was just after money. Troubled by his own past, he wanted to make sure that the same didn't happen to the Azalea girls. Deep down, he truly had good intentions all this time, albeit in his own sort of twisted way. I'm also glad that Eiko's singing truly made them come back to their senses. Although part of their reason for staying was that so many people now depended on their success, all the staff and such working with and for them. I guess they don't matter much now, they're probably just minor technicalities in the grand scheme of things lol. Can't ruin the heartfelt moment now, can we.

Now, maybe someone can help refresh my memory, but what exactly was Kabe's role this entire time? If I remember correctly, Kongming scouted him out for the sake of the 100,000 likes project, so I was thinking that they'd be performing together. But they don't perform together, Kabe kind of just stands there on the stage today. Besides for the sake of simply changing things up a bit and including some rap, the only thing I can think of as to why Kabe was here was to maybe give Eiko some emotional support. They fleshed him out pretty well with his own backstory, but honestly I feel like he stole too much screen time from Eiko- especially since it seemed like he didn't add much by the end. Perhaps someone can enlighten me lol

It was an 8/10 anime at first, but personally I felt like it kind of lost quite a bit of that initial energy, and will now be leaving this with a 6/10. This last episode to "Volume 1" though, certainly was a good finale.

Also how TF did they manage to park their truck in THIS position?? Maybe there's an alleyway behind it hiding behind that tree, or maybe it drove on the freaking sidewalk before making the turn. But otherwise, DANG this driver's good.

Paripi Koumei, best anime of Spring Season✨

I'm not kidding, each episode was so fun, inspirational and awesome, the characters had their very own story and I just love the last scenes 😍❤️

Eiko song melted my heart 😭✨ It was great to see that Nanami and her friends finally stand for her dreams, and the fans still loved them 🥺❤️

Koumei last scene with his past leader was moving, I was literally in tears 😭

I'm waiting for the next season to Summer Sonia 😎 Ganbare, Eiko!! 🔥

Great final episode. Wrapped up this arc well. The show really delivered on my expectations it set for me in the first episode.

Contrary to popular opinion though, I liked the second arc more due to the focus on Azalea. That was the best part of the show for me, apart from Kongming and Eiko, of course.

Kabe was a character developed really well and I hope he has more involvement in Eiko's career moving forward.
7/10.

Last episode, Kongming's crew borrowed Azalea's likes long enough to get past the half-point. Once the audience caught on to them being a "fake Azalea", Kabe pulled a "no u" by using Azalea's lip-syncing and disguise against them in a diss.

And now, to gain the rest of the likes, Eiko sings her new song Dreamer. It's very clear from the lyrics that this is a message for Nananim to spread he wings, the show her face, to sing what she wants.

So at 6:20, is the mystery liker Eiko's dad from the photo of them together in episode 1?

The 100,000th liker is none other than arranger Steve himself.

Ah, no wonder Kongming's strategy worked so well against Azalea...he has a freaking Acer Predator Thronos!

Though Eiko has earned her right to appear at Summer Sonia, Kongming's operation is not over. A reborn Azalea play a song from their early days (at least one member of the crowd has been listening to Azalea since their pre-idol career). They finally stood up to Karasawa, even this was part of Kongming's operation. He was streaming Reborn Azalea's performance, proving to Karasawa that the music they really wanted to play could be popular; firing back the 100,000 "arrows" he borrowed from his opponents. The fans that saw the stream come to Azalea's location, not because of money, but to see the artist they liked.

Eiko has done it and even Karasawa is at the celebration to tie up loose ends. Haha Kongming is just so blatant with that "I am the mastermind" sash.

Wow Karasawa used to be in a visual-kei band! The misfortunes he experienced in his career are why he'd put Azalea's financial success above their integrity as musicians.

I love how humble Eiko and Kongming both are. Epic fist bump. Right after Kongming's current master leaves to give the crowd what they desire, the spirit of his previous master appears...

Full version of Kibun Jou Jou! Mia is very pissed whereas Jet Jacket are concocting more of the traditional throat remedy Kongming gave them 😆

Well, Mr festival organizer, your cush now has 100,000 likes.

And we end on Eiko doing a title drop.

This really needs a season two.

Loved the show overall, but the ending was a bit too cheesy for my liking.

I don't buy how it took 1 song from Eiko for Azalea to end up in tears and just say no to being "robots", even though they pretty much accepted having their souls sold. Maybe things changed too quick? Shouldn't there be too much at stake at this point? Shouldn't there be more consequences? Tons of money was likely put in Azalea and they should've signed contracts that turns them into slaves of sorts? I don't see how them "breaking free" makes sense or can be fixed by simply bowing down and saying "we're sorry". It's just too good to be real. Fairytale-type good ending IMO.

8/10 from me, anyways...

I was expecting the long-haired red and blue haired characters that were in the ED and ending club scene to be a bigger part of the series (Haven't read the manga) since they seemed to emphasized them, but maybe they ere just meant to be cameos for later in the story.

I can't believe it's over already, I want more! Really hope they renew it for a 2nd season. I also hope the release all the full songs featured in the show on an album; I want to listen to them all on repeat.

INCREDIBLE.
This chapter was really great!
It was Eiko's turn to sing, the song was amazing!!! Very good, it touched everyone, especially Azalea. And thanks to that, they came back to play like before and were reborn.
And Eiko reached 100.000 likes.

It was very cool this anime, I loved it. Let's hope they announce a 2nd season.

This was an incredible ending to an already fantastic show. The emotions are high as you feel happy for Eiko and as well as Azalea's members being free. Even their harsh manager gets justified.

Well done, Kongming, for helping our girl to reach 100,000 likes.

What a good show.

I had a lot of fun watching this, more so with the low expectations I started with considering the premise was too out there. But it certainly delieverd specially in the music department. So many songs produced (even if one of them was sung a lot), the attentiont to the stratagems from Kongming's past and mostly their respective application to a situation in a claver and original. That's probably an aspect few show's can take for themselves.

We also have the characters who, though we didn't have much time to dwelve into them, their were relatable enough through their music, that being a ballad or an improvised rap (technically even chanting). And since we're still on the music side, obviously I can't oversee the opening song... nor the ending one (even if it isn't as much for the dance floor).

Maybe my biggest gripe with the show has to go to the animation which didn't really blew me away, and some of the impactful scenes which probably didn't hit for me as hard as they could have. Some though, I certainly did feel shivers go down my spine when Eiko sang soley to Nanami in that roof, not as much after Dreamer though.

In any case, I can safely recommend this among the best from this season, easily.

I'm a bit disapointed on the series to be honest. I had great expectations in the early episodes as this posibly being my anime of the season long with being the best music oriented anime, but there were plenty of details that just didn't live up. For starters the whole 3 Kingdoms trivia knowledge at the start of each episode felt tiresome for me, it was obviously aimed at fans who dig this story period.

"Crazy for me" was probably the only song I felt that resonated or felt refreshing. Eiko's ballad in the other hand despite it being moody and chill, it was reused ad nauseum for the same quick reaction from the audience, cue the song, let them know it's sad song time. The visuals that come with the animation was also a tagged along issue for me, despite these last 2 having more detailed animation during the performances, it's hard to ignore that the rest of the episodes are incredibly static and the performances with fluid animation are cut quite short. Beautiful Dreamer just didn't meet the hype it created ever since we knew Eiko was coming up with a new song.

Outside of Koumei, I can't honestly say that I loved anyone else, even Eiko just fills in for the peppy cute anime girl, and others like Kabe just felt meh for various reasons (the constant hammering on him being down and lost on identity). There's also the very down by the numbers storytelling in these musical focused shows where the main protago allegedly hasn't found his/her voice and some big shot tells them they need to go on a journey to discover themselves, but once they find their beat, it's the very same beat and voice they had from the beginning.

The writing in these last arc was pretty messy and contrived. Koumei's team pulled out this charade in the last day before Azalea's big gig announcement, with the expectation to not only beat Azalea, but open their eyes with a song that will make them return to their roots. Azalea rather than turn their backs on their ignorant manager that only thinks a band should be an image, they bow down and ask for a continuance on their contract, expecting their manager to understand that they want to be a real band, not just some hot chicks dancing on the stage.

This show gets a 6.5/10 from me. Not sure if I will remember this show in a year or so.

Decent ending. Ngl I was pretty disappointed; I thought there was going to be some sort of continuation of a song battle between the two, but it was just Eiko blowing everyone away with her new song. Like really? The entire audience was hating on her, but they magically transformed after hearing one song? As much as I like the song Beautiful Dreamer, no way would anything like that ever happen in real life. Cause what they did in order to score 100K likes was pretty shitty. Well aside from that, I gotta say Eiko's singing really was the highlight. I mostly zoned out on the rest of the episode. Didn't care about the Azalea subplot.
The biggest disappointment for me was with Kabe though. As much as I dislike rap, I was looking forward to a collaboration between Eiko and Kabe. He could've at least had a few lines in between the song. But he just sat back for the rest of the show. So why was he recruited in the first place again? Just to diss Azalea? Argh.
Well overall, it was an okay watch. Pretty predictable and nothing happened that really blew me away or made me feel much emotion. Aside from the performance of Beautiful Dreamer, my favorite parts of this show are the last half of the previous episode, the rap battle between Kongming and Kabe, and the blooming friendship between Eiko and Nanami. 6/10.

Guess Kabe went a bit too far with his rap last episode. Good thing this is anime and Azalea's fans actually had the decency to let Eiko sing her song. And what a beautiful song it was.
Solid finale though a bit too cheesy, if you ask me. Everyone ended up winning in one way or another and the show even managed to give evil manager Karasawa some last-minute characterization. So he used to be like Nanami and empathized with her at some point, huh? Well, guess that explains why he never used the "you are under contract so you are forced to do this and that" tactic with Azalea.

Wonderful series overall. Unique, truly entertaining and even touching during certain moments. Eiko is definitely my best girl of the season and her dynamic with Kongming was easily the strongest point the show had. Still not sure about Kabe's addition to the cast since I found the episodes focused on him kinda slow but other than that, I don't have any major complaints about this adaptation.

8/10 - Wishing for a second season anytime soon. Also looking forward to P.A. Works adapting more manga projects, considering they did so well with this one.

Finally some background on Karasawa. It was pretty obvious, but I wanted to see more about him. Like maybe a flashback or something.

I checked out this show out of pure curiosity because of the bizarre premise. I honestly thought I'd be dropping it after the first couple of episodes... Never in a million years I thought it would become my second favorite for this season. Especially since I think this is the first season since 2019 that I'm really enjoying every single show in watching.

One of the best shows of the season has ended. I didn't think I would come to love this show this much when I first started watching it, Eiko's singing really is something, got teary-eyed when she sung DREAMER. It really was great and this ended in a very satisfying way. Eiko got the ticket to perform at Summer Sonia and our boy Konming even ended up promoting Azalea and thus reborn Azalea was born, it was win for both Eiko and Nanamin. We learnt a bit about Karasawa and why he wanted to make those girls successful, he's still determined to do that but has changed a bit and is willing to listen to the girls.

I really hope we get a Season 2, they way they said ".......volume 1 has ended", I think there should be a volume 2 then. We anime fans are in luck these days with even old shows like classroom of the elite, Konosuba and stuff getting new seasons which all of us had lost hopes for so I think Paripi Koumei shouldn't shy away from a new season either, Wouldn't mind getting Season 2 in Spring 2023 xD.

This anime just kept imrproving over the course of these 12 episodes, I remember rating this 8/10 after watching like 5 or 6 episodes, I ended up upgrading my rating to 9 when we reached episode 9 or so and now that it's completed I've rated it 10/10, thoroughly deserved.

The end of an era. Thank you Wit, Mappa and Isayama.

Finally it's finished. The last arc is a downgrade. Zhuge Liang shouldn't rely that arc to Eiko too much just because he uses Battle of Chibi reference. Overall 8/10.

This will be an excellent show (10/10) if it hadn't Eiko's screentime that much. Also really they didn't add another strategist as Zhuge Liang rival like Sima Yi to this show. Their battle will be 1000x better than Eiko and that black hair girl.
