To spend the Spring Break going home, it's a blessing for everyone except for Aoi and a few others like Akutsu whom live very far away from Tokyo Esperion's HQ in Tokyo.

Instead, Hana comes around to show him around Tokyo Mousen High (the school affiliate to Tokyo Esperion), and it must be wonderous that Ohtomo spotted them together enough to gawk and spy at the sidelines. It doesn't look like a date between Aoi and Hana, but more like Aoi realizing that he's constantly short-falled in integrating together with his teammates. Hana, also realizing Aoi's reckless behaviour to act according to his own emotions, and for all the effort that she does to help him, he finally rants it out that she isn't helping his development much for her to strike at him. So technically, Aoi isn't just bad at playing soccer, but also with tact.

School at Tokyo Mousen High is as per normal, but I didn't expect Yuuma to be affiliated with Anri that close. Ohtomo is such a snake, but a comedic snake lols. And Aoi had enough to strike at Asari, even to the point of a stratagem overview in class just to get his point across. Meanwhile, Date and Fukuda's conversation raises a special circumstance to groom players the right away, even if someone like Aoi takes very long to get to the same answer. Kuroda stepping up to Aoi's plate to show him the way, but Aoi's extreme fixation on scoring goals is causing the rift, and unless he can rid himself of that mindset, then can they communicate....at least in Asari's POV. Ohtomo is just like Aoi, and this is looking like Asari has went too far in his mindset.

Coach Date has an ultimatum for Aoi: to play in the next league match as a starter, BUT according to the play that Date has outlined for him. Fail that, and that results in the consequence of not participating for 3 months. It's a challenge that truly acts as if his life depends on it...will Aoi follow the plan?

Togashi walk out of bathroom with just a towel is very sexy despite I only see his back, not his front. He doesn't even enter a highschool yet but his body is already ready... (for what!)

Since Akutsu is the only one who stay in a dorm in spring break (besides Aoi), I kinda expect Aoi to have "some interaction" with him, whatever that interaction is (including sneaking in his room to see what kind of porn magazine he's hiding). But spring break suddenly end, time flies very fast!

I kinda get why Aoi is yelling at Hana, he's trying to tell her that he is NOT anybody's replacement. He's not "the next Fukuda" that Hana is hoping for. Aoi is Aoi. And if she doesn't get this fact straight she should get out of his life.

In previous episode I complain about the lack of school scene, and suddenly this episode LOL. Talking about Anri, the sponsor's daughter. Last time I suggest Anri might be the one who end up with coach Fukuda, considering that Hana will likely end up with Aoi. But now we know that that smooch player Yuuma Motoki is her childhood friend, which increase a lot of chance enp up being a couple. Fukuda might have to stay single for the rest of his life after all, which is what I want LOL

I can’t say I disagree with Asari. Like ok, Aoi is the forward and I guess that means he’s expected to score or something right? But still, he’s so focused on scoring he’s not seeing the other plays that could have been more effective. That’s a real handicap of his. I gotta say though, being able to perfectly recall the position of every player in the field that day is kinda impressive. At least I thought so.

But man, I really wanted to slap the dude for all that “Aoi stole his buddies’ place on the team” bullshit. Glad even his boy Kuroda called him out on it. I don’t really trust that dude though, he seems like the type that would screw your over with smile on his face. Anyways, being on the junior team doesn’t mean you automatically get promoted up. His buddies just weren’t good enough, end of.

On an unrelated note, I liked seeing Hana and Aoi. They’re honestly very cute together and I hope they make up. Loved that she flying jump kicked him in the face haha. The big doofus kind of deserved it.

Hana is the best supporter Ashito never asked for. He really gotta apologize to her ASAP smdh

On another note, it was so nice seeing Ashito give Asari and Kurouga a piece of his mind. Good on the boy Ootomo for stepping in too. Both him and Ashito fought for their lives during those tryouts. Asari has no room to say shit. Kurouga knew better to not to piss off Togashi in the back either lmao.

I seriously need more of this man. Gonna be a long summer with Aoashi and Summertime Rendering

People were quick to complain about Nozomi's 'lack of guidance' for Aoi, while he's only doing what Fukuda tells him to do: let the players think for themselves.

We'll finally have an official match since the first episode. Let's go!!

Ngl i kinda thought Hana would say Ashito, you baka! Guess the flying kick just enough to tell the tale, after all xd.

Ohtomo may looks like annoying having a jealousy toward Ashito that had a chance goofing around with cutie like Hana at the spring break, and also ridiculously creepy too when talking about some cutie. However, he sure had loyalty when someone talks crap about the hardworking he and his friends done. So, yeah, i agree, he got a good score this episode xd.

Alright, Ashito, all hints already been laid out. Now its your turn to decide whether you want to be more delicate to the your teammate, even if you sounds half way right through the word, or just continuing being an idealist as 'a genius forward', like you said.

Sadly, after reading some spoiler way back before, i may kind of figuring out what Ashi do next. Perhaps. But, even if its true or not, its still interesting to see it visually. So, yeah, let's see next!

The Coach put Aoi in a risky spot. He might be up for it or not.. Well, he got the answer on the question which was pretty vague. Probably not the full answer.

We were this close to getting the solution for Aoi through Kuroda, but then Asari just had to go all sentimental and completely blew his top.

Perfectly understandable from both Aoi's and Asari's POV on their situation could be better so ya better work ya ass off on the next game Aoi

I understand where Asari is coming from but that's the kind of thing you keep to yourself. Again, these moments build character development and show that these characters can be integral to the story. I liked Aoi's reaction when Asari called him out for the fact that all his hypothetical plays revolved around him scoring the goal. Above all Aoi is a forward and wants to score goals but at the same time, he needs to focus on plays that help the majority of the team. I wonder what Nozomi has planned for Aoi but I'm enjoying this show and I can't wait for the next episode.

Aoi seems to be getting a better picture of what his teammates are talking about. He can't only be thinking about himself scoring. Its borderline selfish to have every idea for a play end in you being the one scoring. That some ball hog mentality, which is I think the point Asari and Kuroda were getting at. Even though Aoi is a forward he can't only be the one whom scores. There's other ways to being a good player on the field. You have to be in tune with your teammates feelings and know how to respond. Aoi needs to work on how he can setup his teammates more, delivering good passes for them to score. Getting an assists is just as important as getting goals, that's the whole point of being on a team so you can help each other. Aoi has a big problem with accepting help, he feels like everything has to be done by himself and no one else. Which is a bad thing to have in your head, it will stunt your growth as a player and as a person. Hana trying to help with his meals plans shows exactly that. Aoi can't accept anyone's help, it's like if he does he think that makes him lesser. It was cute seeing them out together but ended very sour. Aoi needs to open up more and see everyone not just himself. Work on his assist not just goals, that great field vision he's got can work wonders on setting up his teammates.

at last an explanation for why the coaches have sucked.

yes its true the players need to use their brains, its still no excuse to offer absolutely no advice at all, if it wasn't a holiday in the last 10 days they would have completely wasted 10 days worth of potential development.

there needs to be balance between players doing it themselves and the coaches intervening.

Aoi has two major issues right now. The first one is that he is too stubborn to accept help from anyone. Hana tried offer him meal plans, but he blew her off and hurt Hana's feelings. The second issue is that Aoi has a hero ball mentality when it comes to soccer because he plays the forward position. It's true that the forward is responsible for scoring, but anybody with the exception of the goalie can score a goal depending on the situation. His selfishness is rubbing his teammates the wrong way and that's why they are not on the same page. Coach Nozomi has given Aoi an ultimatum of having him start in the next match, but on one condition and that is to perform a specific play. If he fails to grasp that, then he will be riding the bench for three months.

honestly i kinda agree witu asari. but not all the way, he definitely did went to far at the end. aoi shouldn't stop thinking about scoring a goal ofc, but he should also think on Other ways the Team would score a goal. the forward isnt the only position that can score, and he cant always be the one to score. idk jackshit abt soccer but i at least know that much lol exciting to see how ashito's gonna get through the coach's last challenge tho, pressure's ON.

hana and ashito๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ i love their dynamic sm. her taking her time of the day to just hang with him and clear his mind off is so nice wtf, but yeah he keeps bringing up the similarities between him and her fav player, making it sounds like thats all she sees in him so i hope they can clear out the miscommunication

the class having no tachibana. they did this on purpose the class woulda been way too peaceful and nice with as the leader+middle man lmao

Yep. Football/soccer is a team sport. Ashito is still being too selfish. Why do all his ideas end with him scoring a goal? Wanting to score a goal is one thing, but at the end of the day, it doesn't matter if it's him or someone else from the team. They're his teammates, not his competition.

That being said, I don't fully blame him for his lack of awareness though. After all, his old team allowed him to play like this for years.
He has learned that he wasn't playing correctly in regards to techniques, but unless Ashito realizes that he has to change his playstyle as well, he won't be getting far.

So the coaches is letting him realize the problem himself.

"Only lazy coaches give students all the answers right away. There's a point to making them use their brains." - Fukuda

Nice. That's exactly what Ashito needs. Self-awareness. Fukuda is making him think so that he'll learn. His big flaw right now is acting carelessly so making him realize his mistake will surely help him.

"You know Im an idiot." - Ashito

Well atleast he know. Good.

But that's one of the reasons why i like Ashito. He's brutally honest and expressive. I like that cuz I can relate. He's still a kid and literally a newbie so it's understandable that he don't know what he's doing sometimes. He needs guidance and that's exactly why we have Esperion. His stepping stone.

I admire his willingness to learn and his willingness to get along with his teammates. You can't play football alone so a good relationship with your teammates is very important. Ashito is good with communication too I can see, which is good. Communication is very important in teams progress.

Hana and Ashito is hella cute. Good chemistry there.

The funny, wholesome and serious scenes are well-balanced.

Very good episode. 10/10 for me. It's a bit slow but it has a great plot. I like where it was going. Looking forward for more.

I'm watching football for almost 15 years and I can't agree with Asari. Of course striker must think about scoring goals all the time, but sure he should be able to help his team with an attack build up. And we already saw, that Ashito can do it, that's the point of his "crow's field vision". So I don't see there any problem with Ashito
Ohtomo btw is the real one

So with this episode they revealed the whole crux of the story.
It is obvious that the coach saw the potential in Ashitos vision, which would be in incredible asset for a playmaker, but it completely collides with his hyper egocentrical view of the game.

Pretty realistic scenario, to be fair, there are tons of players that come out of poor teams, where they had to do everything by themselves, that have a high game IQ but otherwise a brick for a brain.

I know Asari is mad at Aoi for being obsessed with scoring goals, but that, I don't think it justifies his anger. Forward do need to have a mindset of scoring goals. Though not the mindset that would hamper the team a.k.a selfishness.

At this point, I can't be on either side, because both of them are partially correct and wrong.

Man, Hana is amazing, that is all.

Honestly, I can't side with either Aoi or Asari at this, they both have points, but ultimately, they were in the wrong too. It's true that a forward should be thinking of scoring, but you're a tad too selfish Aoi, this is a team sport my boy.

Ohtomo best bro though, he really followed Aoi and Hana all day lmao, but he sticked up for Aoi. I don't see Tachibana though, he must be in a different class, shame.

I would love if this season had blue lock too, not because I particularly enjoy the manga, but because the blue lock forward "philosophy" is very close to how Aoi thinks but in Ao Ashi this self-centered way of thinking will probably be deemed wrong, while in Blue Lock it isnt.
I think it would be very interesting to have two football animes that gives two completely opposite answers to kind of the same problems, of course I am making it sound much simpler than it is in either serie cause I am not smart enough to properly put it into words

I'm sorry, but I don't get it...
Asari is fullback? And he is angry that the Aoi/striker want to score a goal?
Like isn't it his job on field to do this?
I would understand if Aoi would like to do everything by himself, but he got plans for rest, why is problem with that?
Everyone got their position on field and when striker gets goal is usually a teamwork.

They show like is Aoi's fault, but looks like they got problem with understanding basic rules.

It seems Ashito is in the wrong anime. Blue Lock is the show for stupidly arrogant mfs.
Now jokes aside, I get what he's saying. A striker with no ambition is a bad striker but again, one needs a certain level of skill to back up for that ambition. And Ashito can barely stop a ball so...

Overall, it was a pretty nice episode. First half with Hana and Ashito's "date" was cute (until he had to ruin it) but the second half with him lowkey confronting Asari and Kuroda was definitely my favorite part. Kinda odd how nobody showed any reaction to Ashito perfectly remembering everyone's positions almost two weeks after the match but well.

And as for Asari, he has a point but again, the striker's main job is to score goals. Someone should tell him that and also tell him to stop acting like he's the only one who had friends not passing football tryouts. Immense props to my boy Ohtomo for standing up for Ashito in that regard. He's a real one and I hope that one day, he can get as many chicks as he wants.

welp aoi got called out for his egocentric playstyle, though asari got too into it and blamed him for things beyond his control. I kinda wanted to see kuroda get pissed at him too. I expect it from asari but kuroda has a more unreadable air about him, seeing affable characters say what they're really thinking is always fun. hopefully it happens next time.

I wonder how aoi's play with gloomy coach will go...it'd be surprising if the mc gets benched for 3 months, but considering how he reacted to asari's outburst, he doesn't seem like he's ready yet.
