I'm not "acting smart", I'm stating my predictions for the usual "smart" mc that is smart mainly because the rest of the cast is just a bunch of braindead cliches
Maybe, that's how it was supposed to be portrayed. If it that's the case, we must be skeptic about the too obvious and things that are too good to be true, otherwise we're falling to the ploy of the author. Anyway, revealing it too soon? I remember my first reaction on this revelation by reading this thread! LMAO!

Tenji SMILED and so do I!! Can't wait for the SMARTEST among their group to show what he's capable of!

I liked it because the episode makes a revelation that pissed me off which was the rape revelation that Yutori suffered and the only one who seemed to know was Sawaragi but Tenji knew too and he was the one who made it revealed to everyone in order to separate everyone from Sawaragi
what do you mean rape revelation

I'm done. So disappointing. The drama was only 4 eps (plus a special) and it told the story much better. I can't imagine what they'll do for 12 episodes aside from switch to another team. There are unanswered questions, but I don't care enough to keep watching.

To show backstory about Yuutori? the girl literally got bullied and was forced to compensated dating, and you said it was fanservice lol.

Because it was absolutely necessary to do close up shots of her posing to convey there was sexual conduct. I'm not sure what else people took from the scene. It added no interesting detail to the verbal description.
I don't have that impression of "fan service" in that close up shot tbh. Still, I feel bad for Yutori.

I don't like the reveal, really not the appropriate time to reveal the culprit here.

The whole point of this kind of show is to keep the viewer hooked, make them think and even play them. This reveal is too early, I liked it much better when I was running through all the possibilities in my head. They basically started a good buildup just to cut it short in the first 1/4 of the show instead of leading it to an interesting climax. What a bummer.

I sometimes forget to finish my sentences.

The moment the commentators declared Kokorogi the least suspicious, she immediately shot at the top of my suspect list. But I guess it was glasses-kun after all (unless he has an accomplice).

Also culprit or not, Shibe is kind of a jerk uh. First his reaction to the surgery and now the conpensated dating. Maindenless behaviour 101.

Picked up this show recently and it's more fun than I initially thought.

I would recommend watching it to the end . I have watched enough mystery shows to know there is more to it than meets the eye.

Yes, they can't keep it and they have to hurry now because Tenji is the purest person in this story and I won't spoil anything more. I am sure that although there are many stories in mal that scores higher than it is But the score is 8.21 of the Tomodachi Game manga. is the score it deserves I advise you not to lose hope in watching. If speaking from the point of view of people who haven't read manga yet. I must be thinking the same way as you. In fact, they should have released 12 episodes of the anime at once. Because this show will enter the real Tomodachi game in Episode 6. The first two games in this story are just stupid games that make us see that they don't have any friendship with each other.

I may be so fuckin late. But, bruh what the hell? Turns out Kokorogi just like Saki-chan, was one of an emergence! Well that was truly a hella nostalgic vibe for me. But anyway, a cool backstory i'd say. Thanks to this i suddenly remember my little dark memory toward, eh, forget that!

Still, the suspense continued, even though its a bit weird with the direction to, out of blue, revealed the real culprit of a stolen 2 million yen money. I mean, i fuckin understand there's someone really wanted to break their shitty friendship. But, really? Already in just three episode? Intriguing! Really looking forward to see whats comes next!

Girls kinda slightly done with their backstory. The rest are the boys. Tenji, a true real culprit, or just another red herring? Or big brain Yuuichi moment revealed next? What about his impurity, i wanna know! Or Shibe with his fake sad wealthy? I dunno, so its also interesting to know! Alright, lets see next, then!

In comparison with Ep.2, Ep3 has done really well with the pacing.
I assume that they are trying to hook the audiences up with intense facial expression at the end of each eps and imo it was a bad decision, like how they ended Ep.2 with an out of nowhere screaming scene.
Story-wse:
-It gave enough time to review the situation (Individual debt, spaces moved) and revised the bonus & debt system of the second game for clarity before proceeding to reveal backstories.
-Backstories were slowly revealing. Now we know that:

I really hope they can keep it up like this in next episodes, the pacing is way better.

I doubted Tenji from the start since he's smart and seems capable of manipulating situations in his will. Now, manga readers say he isn't the real traitor. As an anime only, my bet for that would be either Shibe or MC itself, Yuuichi.

I feel pretty conflicted about the episode. I really liked it until the end, when they suddenly revealed the traitor. And the reasoning behind the betrayal is very weak to say the least. I can only hope that the show has some more twists up its sleeves, or it might become tedious just waiting for the MC to realize who the traitor is when the audience got that revealed in episode 3.
I'm not going to spoil it, so what I can say is that it's not boring because this mc is crazy and brutal. And the other thing I'm going to say is that anime fools you, people who look bad, the truth is probably the purest.

That does make me a bit more excited for future episodes. To be honest, I thought the show might have some more tricks given how highly praised the manga is.

OH?? tenji been suspicious all along and when he shut down shibe without a follow up, my suspicion was raised even more. i mean yeah shibe wasn't right to say that but i dont think he meant any harm with it? his character is literally that. "dude who'll say anything without thinking, may be rude but he doesn't mean it". tenji could've shut him down but confronted shibe abt how what he said was wrong. what an ass. i dont think he's the traitor tho. well, i don't think any of them are lol

good on yuichi for staying by kokorogi's side and not belittling her

Gosh let me guess. The MC and the screaming crying girl are traitors. This dude is obviously a mislead. It's freakin episode 3, not 12.
The show shot itself in the face by having these two random girls watching the group think about who the traitor might be and completely rule out the MC and screaming girl. That is... so freakin obvious, isn't it. I have NOT read the manga btw so I am making predictions purely based on watching this show as a first time viewer. Please do not reply to my statements above as I don't want myself (and others) to know the actual truth. I just have to complain about how obvious the show already is. If I am somehow wrong; praise for the show and I will acknowledge my mistake.

Anyhow I am going to repeat myself in every discussion here I think but: WHY are these people friends? Why should I believe they are friends? There are NO interactions that makes me think these people could be friends. Maybe individual friends, but as a group? Hell nah I don't buy it the slightest. This problem is stinging me so much.

For something called "Tomodachi game" these people don't seem to be tomodachi very much.

I see all you manga readers laughing at people saying this is predictable because there are more twists later, but like...yeah. Obviously there will be more twists. That doesn't change the fact that this one was extremely predictable and not executed well in the slightest. The revelation scene itself was too dragged out as well. I felt like I was supposed to be at the edge of my seat trying to figure out who the culprit was despite seeing exactly what was coming from a mile away. But sure, I guess I'll keep my hopes up.

That's exactly my thoughts. Wow more twists down the line? Will they be as predictable as this? The show definetly doesn't do a good job at catching people to watch further and the pacing is so weird. The second episode felt great pacing wise, while this one felt dragged out for ages only to say what everybody knew already. I can see a lot of people dropping this show right here and now and it is a shame IF it gets better the following episodes.

Yeahh Tenji feels like a red herring. I'd be very surprised if he was the true culprit. On that note it's nice to have a male yandere for once.

Also I was totally betting on Kokorogi shittalking herself to throw Shiho under the bus.

Wasn't expecting them to reveal the thief so early, I thought that would've been closer to the end. I'm not too shocked it was Tenji who stole the money but I wasn't really expecting it either.

I hope we get some more backstory on Shibe, I don't really like him but I feel all's we know about him is that he's rich. He seems so disconnected from the other four.

The "impurity" shaming in this episode was extremely annoying on multiple levels.

Firstly, their's Kokorogi's freakout upon being found out to not be a virgin. It's not that bad, really, who cares. But then there is no reassurance from her friends, and everyone acts like it's this horrific truth.

The second level to this: The way the show implicitely agrees with this idea of non-virgin shaming. It HAS to ensure the viewers that she did not in fact go the whole way, so she is still pure. So in this way they are catering to impurity shamers. But then the viewing woman says the great line "the only people who care about this kind of thing are virgins themselves". Only to undermine it by immediately saying "I'm half joking". It's possible they undercut that line because it would offend the otaku core audience that this is pandering to, but more likely is that these are the real views of the author.

Finally, Yuichi's attempt to reassure Kokorogi. It couldn't have been anything as sensible as "I don't care that you have had sex. I still like you". No, it must have been him saying "I'm not a virgin either" - because the show doesn't want to affirm that maybe slut shaming is wrong.

So there you have it. The problem isn't that the show depicts the real shaming of "impure" females, it's in how it implicitely agrees with those views.
Shoot first, think never.

It's annoying and uncultural for sure but bro imo you missed a tad of the point.
I think it's safe to assume that the gods which are paying to watch this shady game live can not be normal, honest or good ppl.
Shibe has also been being depicted as a jerk.
Yes the author has totally shamed virgin and even emphasized it with the observers' talk but rmb it's those audience jerks and Shibe who berated Kokorogi when the content was released.
Btw, ngl, there might be circumstances for the prostitution but I srsly don't think a high school brat and some jerks can not be starled by a girl who SOLD her body to old men in her early purbety, it's just abnormal and illegal in many ways.

I specifically addressed the point that you said I missed. So far the commentary from the spectators has been presented as matter of factly true and neutral. None of the main characters are shown to disagree with the same idea, and the show feels the need to say "don't worry otakus, she didn't really go that far" which is implying that the criticism is warranted. All in all the commentary of the spectators goes completely unchallenged. The idea is normalized, taken as true, and the show even presents arguements in its favor.

That the showrunners agree with the used-goods idea is not suprising given how ubiquitous that idea is in otaku pandering anime, although most of them just avoid the subject of sex completely. If in the next episode even one character says they genuinely don't care about her being impure then I will eat my words, but I doubt that will happen. Most likely what will happen is the words Yuichi said to Kokorogi will be "I'm not a virgin too" or some other dirty secret and the used-goods idea will go unchallenged forever.

Characters being shocked at learning their friend once possibly slept with a guy is fine. Having some immature/bad people think less of her is fine too. But having all her friends and everyone else including God being horrified and thinking less of her is not.
Shoot first, think never.

People act like it's second Ex Arm or smth, it's so damn hillarious...

Just drop it, why are you torturing yourself like that? Stop watching the show. I will never understand people who rate shows low, call it garbage and STILL comment every single week, is that some sort of kink or something?... Or just attention seeking? You want to justify your hate so you willingly spend HOURS just to say "told ya"? I dropped dozens of shows and I am not planning to pick them back, I assure you, it's not that hard to do.

People nowadays just want to hate everything and scream about it as loud as they can. There is a critique (pacing, animation etc) and then there's just blind hate (the story is dumb, the reveal is dumb, everything is dumb). It's like hating Harry Potter for Dumbledore's death and then acting like 7th book just doesn't exist. I mean, you do you. But that's pretty idiotic to me fam. Director is already rushing through material like crazy, I don't know how they can make people stay A LITTLE BIT MORE PATIENT. The game didn't even end but everyone ALREADY decided that the story is garbage XD well okay. Keep thinking like that.

Keep thinking like that.

damn, thats crazy but did anyone ask tho?

I don’t know why they would build up who the traitor is so much if they were just going to reveal it in the 3rd episode. Glasses guy always seemed like a tool, but I thought that it would be too obvious for it to be him.

This studio just is not doing a good job with this material. The tortured faces look bad, the CGI fire looks bad, the falling crow feathers in one scene unintentionally disappear before a cut, and much more.

I’m still interested in where the story goes, but man, idk if I’m going to make it to the end with how these first 3 episodes have looked.
