| Man what a fucking fantastic episode. The insert song and Frederica's interaction with Morpho-no, Kiri was amazing. Raiden is most likely dead. I just hope Anju, Rikka and Kurena are okay. The least you can expect is for them to stay alive. Next episode is a named chapter and it won't be coming out until almost 3 months. It's been a wild ride. Early happy new year. See you all again in March. |

| Gee, that’s a cliffhanger and a half right there! Coupled with the fact that we’ve to wait 3 months for the remaining two episodes now, what a dilemma this and a long wait this is going to be. Kiriya’a finally taken out with help from his Princess but the self-destruction switch clicked on in the nick of the moment and you’d imagine Shinei to get caught up in it. But let’s see how he’ll get or got out of it. The Nouzens sure have it tough. I’m definitely curious about the fate of the other members. Here’s to hoping at least one made it out alive if not more… By the way, I felt for a second that Major Milize might’ve chipped in with that crucial long-distance support. My ears definitely picked up her voice during one of the noises. A-1 Pictures really going strong with the animation, still. Really impressive, honestly. If this is the quality we’ll be getting for the final two episodes too, I think I’ll be able to make it lol. To be honest, I feel slightly lost with a few details and whatnot so I’m thinking of rewatching the 21 eps in advance to the final two. |

| I've been so impressed on how 86 part 2 has progressed, built up some really good characters and impressive story telling. So I'm more than happy for it to be delayed till March and hopefully get a strong ending, unlike some disasters (Promised Neverland S2). |

| Damn. Even rushed, this episode was even grander and more epic then I remember it being. I love that they animate Frederica's side too. A bit stupid, but something someone her age would do. Yet they do a beautiful representation of showing how she's wise beyond her years and how she's no longer the innocent little baby Kiri carries around even though physically they couldn't have been separated more then 7-8 years. I didn't realize though that the alternate vision of the Nouzen clan was an analogy of Kiri joining Shin's brother though. Did they blow up in the LN or is that new? Also, weird incontinuity or maybe subbing is Kiri called Shin the eldest son of Nouzen -- isn't he the youngest? I find it crazy how amazing Shin's voice actor is this episode. I don't know if he had a cold or something while filming this or was trying a new technique. But I feel like he expressed his self really well in this episode for a character who just peaks on being emotionless. |

| Mmh. As expected, almost no one seems to really care about what happened to Raiden. Whether if it's because the character is uninteresting or if everyone is already too used to the consistent plot armor our main cast gets is a question beyond my knowledge. I also agree with the comments in regards to how the flashbacks added nothing to the drama. The entire idea of making an arc around a deceased knight of a brat princess was not great, and the anime can't really help the cause with is limitation to audiovisual content (I'm assuming the textual format of the Light Novel might have handled this story line better). The first season had some issues on how the story feels like a teenage melodrama while simultaneously trying to deal with mature and complex themes, but most of it was compensated by good direction, a nice setting, appealing political conflicts and the tension of imminent death for the main crew - all of which was thrown away by the end of the season and replaced by... this, in Part 2. Another place, new characters that aren't any more interesting than the previous ones, the MIA state of Milizé, an overall downgrade in writing. The only relatively compelling parts of this show right now are Shin's internal issues in face of his burden. Other than that, sorry, but I'm bored to death. The production is still solid, however, and Hiroyuki Sawano's music makes it all a tad bit more bearable. |
| A fucking incredible episode. Everything was perfectly set up for this episode. The direction, the godly Sawano music. The voice acting. Beautiful. Also, that cliffhanger. Now, we wait for a long time... till next year. |

| Feels 7-ish. I changed my score from 8 (previous season and first half of this season) to 7. Yeah after the super boring previous episodde this one was better a bit. Still a lot of talking. And those 2 male chars (Shin and the other enemy guy) ... aren't really that interesting. The other guy just the "crazy/insane guy" type and Shin stoic/calm. Only good thing was when the song (music wiith text) appeared in 2nd half of the episode. Made it a bit better. But Lena and the overall politics (liked the setting in San Magnoila and the internal problems where Lena struggled while others hated the 86) ... are missing hard in this 2nd season. Strongest parts still were the first half with the normal life in the republic (first few episodes) and Ernst. |
| No, sorry the build up in this episode was seriously bad, I'm speechless that they had no better idea than reducing the group every five minutes with the good old "go on without me" line. That was a very bad move, to make Shin face Kyrie alone, but the final battle wasn't that bad. Meeting of Kirye and the loli princess wasn't very powerful and there was nothing for Frederica to do actually. The scene with Nouzen siblings + Kyrie was strange I'm sure they could have never met in reality. Since they went on with the characters left behind, without real drama involved I guess everyone except Raiden is ok. Morpho defense looked like from another planet, the difference in advanced technology is really big here, although it was beaten without many resources, I liked the "napalm" hehe. The final Morpho power up was a bit silly, a 70 ton artillery unit can't be very good in close combat. if Legion would be that tough they would have won the war long ago. Too bad that had been the worst episode in terms of writing and directing. The arc quickly went downhill to my surprise, since everything before they landed behind enemy lines was interesting. |

| It's pretty amazing how opinions are so cleanly divided between "amazing" and "this is going downhill". Ironically, I agree wholeheartedly with both opinions. This arc is such a downgrade from the first one in the novel in term of plot and characters and I still feel exactly that in for the anime. We got interesting characters like Grethe and Ernst and a lot of character development for Shin. However, the plot has so laser focused on Shin that the plot and other character development can feel extremely underdevelopped and neglected for how many episodes we have seen. On the otherhand, I can't help but be awed by how great the direction, music and visual storytelling is this season and how amazingly it fit with the show focus. I can't help but love this episode and the past ones. In the novel it was no doubt that the 2nd arc was weaker than the first arc. In the anime, I legitimately can't compare them because both does great at completely different things. I'm satisfied with this emotional payoff and the constantly amazing cinematography and direction. 5/5 See you again in March, 86. |

| Perhaps whiny child wasn't as irrational in this episode as she was in previous ones, but she's still annoying. You know what kids of her age (10) normally do? Play with dolls and cry all the damn time. She alone downgrades this show for me. If she were older and less whiny it wouldn't change anything in terms of story but would make the show so much more enjoyable. |

| this episode was the best till now, every second every moment felt importent and it helped me to really understand shin character. the animation and the soundtrack accompanying the fight were absolutely stunning, and this is arguebly the best fight in the series. i can't wait for the next episode. |

The last episode stopped on page 198 chapter 9 vol. 3 But I recommend reading from the beginning, because there's something very important shown at the end of vol. 1 that hasn't been shown in the anime yet, so you will be confused when reading the end of vol. 3. |
