Tsuburaya Productions announced a feature-length film as part of the Gridman shared media project at the company's Tsuburaya Convention 2021 event on Monday. The film will be a crossover between the SSSS.Gridman and SSSS.Dynazenon television anime series. Pony Canyon simultaneously opened an official website for the project, revealing a teaser visual (pictured) and an announcement promo.

Several original main staff from both television anime will be returning for the film. Akira Amemiya is returning to helm the film at animation studio Trigger, in collaboration with Tsuburaya Productions. Keiichi Hasegawa is penning the script, Masaru Sakamoto returning to design the characters, and Shirou Sagisu composing the music.

Based on the 1993–1994 Denkou Choujin Gridman (Gridman the Hyper Agent) tokusatsu series, Tsuburaya Producions began the Gridman shared media project in Fall 2018 with the 12-episode SSSS.Gridman anime series. The second 12-episode television anime, SSSS.Dynazenon, aired in Spring 2021.

I mean they're good but I'd rather TRIGGER focused on other series. Guess mecha just really popular in Japan

damn they made it a movie and not TV series this time huh

but a movie means less running time so they do not need to drag the story much with filler like episodes and that anime movies right now is a big trend for years now and no it did not start with Demon Slayer movie

Well, hell yeah, why not?

I'm sure this'll sell pretty good. Here's to hoping we'll be able to watch it in theatres too outside Japan.

After seeing the SSSS.Gridman x Dynazenon colab event in Azur Lane, I'm excited for this. I still need to watch Dynazenon though.
