| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Unexpeted baseball episode lol Tbh, this episode felt random since all the drama that happened up to this point. This one turned out to be fairly lighthearted with some baseball fun. Felt kinda bad for Nagara since he almost got hit in the face by the pitcher. Strange episode imo. |

| This is an affair totally worth quirking Bananas out for, a MONKE moment for baseball. So apparently the class of 36 are having fun in the pool dark black space (that's thanks to Nozomi's powers), but Nagara's momentary vision of transitioning to the view of a monkey and a baseball field? Pony and Hoshi are back at it with the election results that are in talks with Rajdhani, while Nagara, Mizuho and Nozomi have their own time as well, while Cap drops in the conversation. There's still an air of mystery with Asakaze, while Cap shares about his baseball experiences with this "Great Monkey Baseball" story in the most flamboyant manner (as he did the "penalty" moments in Episode 1). At least Mizuho now embraces the cats and carrying them along in her walk. Trying to challenge Shanghai's boyfriend Ace to win a the mysterious Monkey Getter flashlight that enables them to see the monkeys through a baseball match, it's called for. Replicating their fantasy world with baseball for the main trio and Cap from the makeshift baseball diamond field to even the pitches, it's honestly opening my eyes to see what this world can be manifested of. That's how Cap's "rules" are made, and is evident of what happened in Episode 1 when people do not adhere to his "rules", there's injustice but the actions are what count it as is. What comes after is just a good ol' game of baseball, just like back in school. Well, Nagara almost got hit by a pitch from Ace, the one who provided the materials to these monkeys, thinking that he could get appreciated for his work when others are doing the job for him. All's wll that ends well for a vacation of sorts, but the warped transitions of Nagara's power...they can't go back to their own world, and not that but anywhere he wants too? At least that clears up Nagara's powers: he CAN imagine to warp to other worlds, but he is stripped of choice. And their homeroom teacher that appears outta nowhere...what is truly waiting for the class? This "Stranger Things" shit warps my brain in a thinking Cap kinda way that only deepens the mystery more. NGL, every episode has interesting theories of intrigue. |

| kinda boring episode but the sexy hot MILF teacher appearing in the end triggered something in me lol so the Monkey League is an analogy or metaphor to their High School right rules are mentioned again but this time rules of Baseball aka their High School and those who have talent always win or gotten special treatment and the ordinary people are just at the bottom, a metaphor with society or capitalism world again Nagara meanwhile can warp to other worlds but he cannot choose to go where he wants to, he needs direction in life so i guess Nozomi with her compass power will be his lover in the end to make Nagara have some direction in life i guess  |

| A full baseball episode. Didn't understand a lot but it was fun. Nagara is able to use his warp ability. Mizuho was as cute as always. Love seeing her on screen! And Ms.Aki in the end with her F size PLOT walk was pretty interesting. Is she brainwashed? |

| That wasn't really interesting, it was rather pretty boring and all that monkey story by Cap was annoying as hell I'm disappointed they wasted a whole episode on this, at least we got a few revelations about the MC and that cliffhanger at the end |

Well they kindof had a plan to find different warp spots like last episodes when they were searching around for them. but now Nagara can control it so I guess not lol. And I’m pretty sure Hiromi has a voice in his head so he’s more trusting that. |
| Is fun to have the Mizuho and Nozomi duo. For the most that I kinda dont really like Cap, I must say that I wish I could tell a story the way he told over the episode. In a exciting and fun way. What terrified me was, they not cleaning the body out of the field. Next episode poop will hit the fan? Adding the anime, big boobs and dictatorship(?). |

| That teacher sounds like bad news. I wonder if she is the "savior" Hoshi mentioned. That dude knows something, but he chooses to stay silent, I'm very skeptical about it. I end up with a lot more questions with each episode. Could it be that she has the same power as Nagara? Or maybe there's some kind of portal between The Worlds and the real world. | Oh Jesus, the Monkey League story... It felt like a bucket of bricks falling on the top of my head, and the fact that I know nothing about baseball adds to it. I know it has some sort of subtext, though. Despite that, the anime is still interesting, and it seems like the teacher is going to haste the plot. |

| An okay episode but definitely the weakest of the bunch so far, am intrigued by the teacher showing up for the cliffhanger though. Also, the actual pitches are better animated here than in most baseball anime I've seen which is interesting, although they weren't really matches so it's not too much of a job to animate them unlike a proper baseball anime. |

| Yes there were parallels between Nagara & The one armed monkey, but good god did the monkey metaphor go on for too long, like 8 minutes of the episode is just Cap explaining the monkey league. |
yasm said: A great episode. Felt really uncomfortable, not knowing or caring about baseball, but that is great. Getting out of one's comfort zone means finding a new perspective and growing. Something a certain character has a dire need for. There are animes (books, movies etc.) that make you feel smart by building a complex lock and giving you the key with an instructions manual. There are some that make you feel dumb by holding back the key and the manual. This one doesn't give you a key; it builds the lock in a glass encasement so you can figure out the inner workings yourself and make your own key, but you have to think. Whether you feel smart or dumb or just angry and frustrated depends on how you react to that. I won't pretend I understood everything. Maybe not half of it. There are clearly some metaphors about society, as always. But I feel there was something deeper about our MC that I couldn't quite grasp. This episode was clearly very much about him - him having been in the baseball team only reinforces that. Peer pressure is a clear part of it. How everyone built up great expectations for him and is pressuring him to do something he doesn't want to or care about. But he's not holding back as a matter of principles, he's clearly just afraid of power and responsibilities. He just wants to continue being an outsider, so he doesn't have to commit to anything. You never fail if you never try. Nobody will hate you if they don't know you exist. So in a way the blue monkey is the opposite of him, and seeing from the monkey's perspective is what triggers his growth in this episode. Yet will he finally find his place in their little society, or will he reject being labeled and snugly fitted into the machine, just another cog? The monkey chose to stay true to himself, but will he? If everyone's powers tell a little about them (the clever guy who loves to create stuff, the girl who loves to receive presents, the boy that can't live without a guiding voice and a predetermined fate, the girl that has a clear sense of purpose), the MC's power tells us that he's an escapist. He escapes to other worlds to escape reality. How will his powers evolve as he learns to face it? It's clear the compass girl will be pivotal in influencing him to decide which path he wants to follow. Also, a closing thought: we've seen many sides of rules - how they can bring fairness, unfairness, safety, danger, and now we see what can happen if they are forgotten, their purpose lost as people devolve into doing what they want and following their feelings without regards to objective truth. The death of baseball is just that - the monkeys abandoned the rules and with that the game lost all meaning. Though that is only one way to see it, often the contrarian one. you made me rewatch the episode and i agree Nagara relates so much to the monkey Umpire that died and i kinda understood the whole Monkey League story now on rewatch and with your last paragraph about it |

| Another pointless episode. So far, there has been no focus on why they're trapped. Well, I guess everyone just accept that their normal lives is this then. What is even the driving force for this anime anymore? Also, this anime is not complex. It's just written with no direction. Bullshit symbolism for the sake of appearing sophisticated. |
| Holy fuck that monologue went for way too long for its own good, completely uninteresting, to the point that I didnt even care about the details. I guess the message is pretty obvious at sight, the politics around the rules and how you conform to those by power dynamics in its most basic allegory through baseball, anyways it could have gone a lot shorter. | This was my favorite episode so far! I loved the Monkey Baseball League story. Adding in all the details of the story made it so much fun. Big grins during the whole dialogue. Now we get a new character and fan service all rolled up into one. |
