Takeshi's hair reminds me of a Shonen Jump character, haha. Great performance, I love him and the female rival as well. They are a good and realistic comparison to Kaori IMO-- the top performers at middle school/high school music competitions are usually pretty hardcore and serious.

Great episode! I loved their performances. Hope Kousei doesn't mess up with his performance though.

They can see her emotions. That's fucking synesthesia right there, stay away from shrooms kids. Anyway, I'd probably enjoy this a lot more if I was into classical music, but I'm not.

Emi's performance was on another level, only question left is how Arima will fare - 1 month of practice vs 2 years.

I have to say those two are pretty great, I wouldn't even be mad if Kousei would lose against them.

This ep is absolutely fantastic!

Seeing and listening to both Aiza and Emi play the piano is wonderful, they sure are a hard competition to beat, especially now that Kousei is like 2 years behind. Both Aiza and Emi has been waiting for that long to show Kousei just how competent they're, that talks volume when even Aiza rejected an invitation from Germany just for the hope to be able to compete with Kousei once more in the future.

Respect for Aiza's sportsmanship for accepting Kousei's praise genuinely.

So what stimulate Emi is Arima

One see him as a rival and another see him as a lover? Judging by what Emi comment to Arima's appearance such as tall and such.

Takeshi style of playing is similar to Arima while Emi similar to Kaori

I mean everything is cool and all (besides the annoying and unrealistic attitude of the characters) but I don't really see the difference between the spiky haired dude's performance and the red dress girl one, because I'm no a critic of that stuff, and they both sounded good to me. So it was kinda funny seeing all the people in this episode be like:
OH MY GAWD LOOK AT HOW SHE'S PLAYIN LOLOLOLOLO

Interesting to think that in his "prime," Kousei was such an amazing player that he was able to inspire the likes of these incredible players. Aiza and Igawa probably aren't the only people he inspired either. I wouldn't be surprised if there are more out there, just as distraught when their goalpost suddenly disappeared. Aiza's performance was pretty captivating. Again, I don't know enough about classical music to comment beyond that, but I did enjoy how well A-1 is taking advantage of CG. It is somewhat noticeable, but I don't really mind it because I imagine animating those fingers would be next to impossible otherwise. Hearing his idol compliment his performance must have been a big deal. I'm not the biggest fan of Takayanagi's personality. Dude seems like an asshole. Igawa's reason for wanting to be a pianist was touching. Little Kousei is so cute. Igawa's performance was just as incredible as Aiza's. I wonder who they are getting to record these piano performances. Whoever they are getting is pretty damn talented.

Chopin is hard shit to play.
Major props to anyone that can master it. He's not anywhere near my favorite composer, but the complexity of his music is genius to say the least.

Takeshi's performance was good but Emi's was totally captivating. Glad to see that at least, one of Kousei's rivals received a good amount of character depth.

Decent episode overall.

The performances were beautiful, especially Emi's but I would've liked it much better if there weren't so many dramatic monologues in between them.

Bravo to these two rivals, their performances are great despite me not really being a critic of classical music.

Will Arima step up to the plate or crumble, hopefully it's the former considering even he was moved by Emi's feelings

Wow, Emi's performance was amazing ! Anger and loneliness really were the emotions displayed in her music, and it made for something truly awesome. I definitely think she won, but well, we still have to listen to Kousei. But while I don't want him to lose, I'm afraid things won't play out in his favour considering his trauma...

Now I wonder how Arima is going to win. Emi's performance was better than Takeshi's. And damn, he's right, Emi is something else.

Again, they keep talking during the performance and telling me what's happening on screen instead of letting the music speak for itself.

This is basically like the peanut gallery from battle shounens that keep explaining what's happening on screen.

Stop, please, let me listen to the music.

Animation and score are amazing. However, it's odd that the approximately 14 year old Takeshi has such a strong vendetta against Kousei, or maybe it makes more sense since kids are more irrational, idk. I'm referencing Takeshi's years long obsession of Kousei. Maybe I'm over thinking things, fuckin who knows.

It was a really good episode.
I really liked the new characters (especially Takeshi who is funny) that were introduced, I thought they hated Kousei, but it was the other way around, they admired him.

Great! We get the third member of Arima's harem, and she's lovely.

His rivals have improved, thanks to him, but he was too self-absorbed to notice them.

I do hope that after this, they become good friends.
