This final season will not cover the rest of the manga without a part 2. We thought it would cover up to ch 122/139 but with new leaks, it seems like it will go to ch 119/139. I'll be extremely disappointed if it ends with the latter as ch 120-122 are arguably the greatest chapters of AoT and ending off at 119 is just mean to anime onlies.

Do you think there's a possibility of "final season part 2"? I mean they did for season 3 so....

Hopefully. Although I doubt the content will be allowed to be aired on NHK so a majority of us think it's going to transition into a movie format.

Tried to explain it to him that explosion & steam are CT powers or ability and in S3p2 it clearly shows that Bertholdt could control its steam and nuke whenever he wanted. One of the probability why I think Bertholdt didnt nuke when they first branched wall is because of Reiner and Annie being close to him which could result them burning similar what happened to Armin. But sadly, he is still persistent of CT abilities and the shifters being able to control them are “plot holes”

If we just think about it, the reason why Armin's transformation is so destructive unlike Bertholdt's in S1 is because he was in the water. The extreme heat from the CT's explosion rapidly heated the water and caused this huge hypothermal explosion. Not to mention, there are boats around him with oil and fuel, so that just add to the explosion. It's not a plot hole, it's science. And since Armin's really damn smart, it's an acceptable reason. It's really not that hard to actually think about it instead of blindly hating.

True, the steam & explosion were most likely causing vaporization in the sea. I think he was not referring to Armin’s explosion, he was stating that CT could suddenly use explosion w/o any explanation and just blindly call it plot hole. Another funny thing is he stated if CT can use explosion, the nuke should stay there whenever CT shifters transform just like armored titan, that confirms he can’t differentiate between designs and abilities.

This season has me the most conflicted I've ever been..... There are so many amazing moments in this episode, sprinkled in with actually horrid animations, and this..... .... What the fuck is this, seriously.

I was watching with a friend and we had to pause due to laughing our asses off at just how absolutely horrid this moment was animated.
There are some good shots but its few and far between and this extreme drop in animation quality REALLY takes me out of the moment, I'm not going to lie.

9/10 for me enjoyability wise, but man overall IDK if this season is going to rate too well once finished.
Funny thing is I was actually more scared looking at this scene than ever before looking at Eren's titan. Eren for some reason looks like he is possesed by satan or something IDK, the white eyes are damn scary.

But I can totally see why some might not have liked this shot, even my best friend doesn't like this shot as much. Rest of the episode was great, a lil gripe with ost usage for me. 9.4/10

I personally loved this shot. It just looks intimidating and scary with him just hanging his mouth open.

I'm interested in what is going to develop with that one part you said "he looks like Satan". I feel like Eren is off the deep end at this point, and the kid we knew is gone. We haven't really got any character development for him this season yet so I'm not sure, but I don't think his story is going to end very happily.... You can really see it in the scene where Mikasa seems almost scared of him, questioning if he is okay with all the casualties he caused

I'm pretty sure he changed a lot this season . I mean , he was really forgiving of Reiner whom he had hated and wanted to get revenge on him . His hatred of titans is gone and he accepts that people in Marley are the same as people in Paradis . He is really calm and composed instead of the hot headed guy he was in Season 1 . The memories he got from Grisha gave him a different worldview and perspective .

There are 16 episodes that air weekly. This season will not fully adapt the manga. There has been no announcements or leaks regarding part 2 or a movie sequel.

It was the best episode. Starting from the animation, fight scene and the ost everything was perfect that I had to repeat so many parts...

Levi's back!! Most of you were complaining about Levi's new design but to me he looks way more hotter than usual XD gotta say really missed his “tsk” XD

Damn Armin's entrance was so cool. And the ost that played when he transformed was amazing.

When the beast titan threw those rocks I literally thought he would start dancing ballet (≧∇≦)

The time is coming when most of us started hating on Gabi...

Don't know if I'm ready for the next episode...

I am so intrigued, what happens to Eren’s psyche with the accumulation of all these titan powers/memories. That scene and the buildup to the scene where he drinks WH was so intense, I was jumping in my seat. Watching AOT is almost like a high intensity cardio workout, I have to watch out before I get a heart attack :D
So glad to see Armin again. He looks very pretty. I’m curious about what the dynamic between him and psycho Eren will be like when they meet again. Everyone is an emotional wreck now, understandably. I still care about Reiner, I like Falco, but my feelings reveal that I’m, as a viewer, no doubt on the side of Paradis and I don’t think I will ever root against them.

I literally was screaming at my screen this episode. I was so hyped because before I actually saw the episode I got a small spoiler that Levi was going to fight the Beast Titan. I could not handle myself this episode. The fights were unreal, I am hoping that Paradis wins by the end of the season. At this moment we cant even say whos dead and whos not. I was partially getting frustrated looking how Eren did not pull out Galliard and did not straight up finish him off. I am legit so hyped, I cant even describe it.

Man, I died like 5 times in this episode. It's too much for me, the CGI was fenomenal. And it's kinda ironic to see 3D all titans but Colosal lol, but goddamn IT LOOKED TOO GOOD!
I really LOVE Attack titan being CGI because he looks DAMN SCARY, not disproportional or changing randomly. He looks like the devil, just as he is.

I was not expecting anything, at all. Everything was just great. MAPPA did so good and the lore it self is just outstanding. No mercy at all and with some feelings. I even feel bad for Piecks' squad because of the pictures they had... those details are awesome.

I'm so happy how everything is going. Every episode they seem to be better and better, great job MAPPA!

Brilliant episode, this was just a perfectly paced brutal showdown.

Damn Zeke got wrecked so effortlessly by Levi. The whole strategising done for this battle was just amazing, no wonder Eren and allies started dominating even when odds looked stacked against them.

And yeah some CGI use in this episode is debatable but the unbelievable job MAPPA done in the last season will forever be remembered, truly top tier animation studio.

Even though I would choose Paradis’ government over Marley’s government any day(as far as I know, it has been 4 years after all), I can’t help but root for Marley in this conflict. Yeah, I know: “They attacked first”, “That’s war”, etc. I’ve read it all. Those first 5 episodes did a good job at getting me attached to the Marleyans and Eldians on the opposing side. Even though they’re forgettable, seeing Pieck’s squad go down was pretty sad, far from the feelings of triumph I’d imagine watching the “good guys” take down the “bad guys”. I still want Paradis to win overall, but I honestly might be more emotionally invested in the Marley characters at this point. Maybe seeing the OG squad outside of “war mode” would flip my switch.

Gabi and Falco screaming for Reiner was one of the more powerful scenes of the whole series for me. Apparently people really hate Gabi, but she’s grown on me.

Looking forward to next episode, yet also dreading it at the same time... AOT in a nutshell I suppose.

hell nah always when I find some sympathy for the Marleyans, I watch the video where zeke slaughtered the scouts. I’ll never forget that how Marlo, Sandra and all the other recruits died with nothing but fear at the end. Look at the last 5-6 scouts who screamed their soul out while riding in the death. The guy who took charge after Erwin and marlo died screamed “fire“ and you could hear how terrified he was.
But I don’t hate the Marleyans tho, there are no good or bad people in AoT at the end

Man, what an episode. My only issues are while I can stomach the Titan CGI, the normal dudes in ODM gear will never look good enough in CG. Also, Eren had plenty of time to chow down on the Jaw titan as Reiner was transforming and monologing, and someone should've seen Gabi and Falco and popped a cap in them or gone to attack them, they're clearly enemy troops and anyone who was there attacking Piek should've recognised them and connected the dots that she was probably there.

The episode was ... da bomb. Seriously, I swear I stopped breathing and just stared at what was going on in utter awe. Sasha's and Jean's assault was particularly well choreographed. The warhammer titan just looks so intimidating and Eren behaving like an uber-chad is so fun to watch.

Regarding the soundtrack, the studio seems to have settled with reusing and reworking S1 OST to mimic Marley's assault on paradise island. In terms of theme and storytelling a valid point. Still, I would have loved more new music which we will probably get in season 4 part 2.

2 things however felt odd (already did in the manga). Eren inherenting the warhammer and not Galliard. I mean most of the warhammer user must still be in the jaw titan. Second, seeing Eren all set to deovur the jaw titan later and then freeze and slowly turn around to look at Reiner? Awkward.

This show captures how war is devastating for both sides so well. It's rare to get to see the perspective of both sides and even rarer for shows to get the viewer to sympathize with both well.

He didn't expect a titan transformation after all that happened in the last 2 episodes. If you were in his position you too would lower your guard thinking that you already won cause the Jaw titan is the last thing that you have to defeat (and you're crushing him). The anime made it more brutal though. If I remember correctly Eren only spanked Galliard's head once in the manga and then went for the nape.

Eren was curious about that transformation and obviously didn't want to leave his nape exposed to another titan. I also hate shounen BS but this is not one of them.

That's not the point, the most logical thing to do in that situation is bite the nape of the Jaw Titan to eat Porco while simultaneously turning around and see who is transforming into a Titan. Eren stopping to do something important to turn around (when he could EASILY DO BOTH AT THE SAME TIME) didn't made sense.

What happened here is what happens in most shounen animes which is, they stop doing something important to turn around and once that happens we all know they are going to fail the important thing they were doing in the first place.

What could have fixed that part IMHO is this: Eren turns around while biting the nape of the Jaw Titan and suddenly Eren's Titan get hit with a canon which damages his jaw so he doesn't have enough strength to bite through him anymore. This little scene makes more logical sense than what happened in this episode.

I'm not complaining about it though, I'm just pointing out what could have made that scene more logical, this was still an awesome episode.

Ehhhh I can see where you're coming from. It's definitely a good enough explanation.

But this season has been especially brutal with Eren's actions, like him punching the hell out of the War Hammer while it's transforming, and just overall being extremely efficient in combat. In this situation, he could just have chomped the Jaw's nape while turning around, you know? XD
