and further more if they keep up the quality attack on titan will be the most popular and perfect anime show of all time also mappa will become a giant in the anime industry.

don't forget to thanks mappa on their social media for their hard work and don't forget to rate the episodes.
They are fighting against against a nation called the middle east . Yeah only marley have eldian fighters like reiner and zeke . There has been a timeskip of four years since the last season .

The OST was the same as the trailer, other than that the pacing is also good adapting chapter 91 and 92. Jaw and Cart titan are looking fine, but Armored and Beast are more CG-like. I hope they would keep improving it in the future episodes. The opening however was a bit weird, at least song-wise, and the ending was great. Looking forward to seeing more episodes!!

Also, is it true they're gonna have 16 episodes only? That would probably mean that we get 2 parts like Season 3.

Yes, they fight with humans outside the walls. Just wait ep. 2, you'll get more details about what happening outside the walls.

I was hoping it would change my mind a little about the anime, but... nop, the good ol same SNK, good anime on the overall, but i just cant like it, animation was the same as always, CGI was looking terrible, worth watching, just not my personal taste, people just seem to overlook the anime, and fanbase is kinda blind to the many mistakes in the show
(sorry for any typos)

If you dont like the anime , then say its bad or criticize it . Stop it at that . Dont bring the fanbase into this . Your opinions are not facts . Just because I have a different opinion doesnt mean I am wrong or "blind" .

Im not saying the fanbase is wrong, but some fanboys just overlook the anime and pretend that there are no flaws or downsides of the show, that is what I was trying to say, and some of them are very annoying to the point that if u dont like AOT they say you have trash taste, or whatever, that is why i dont like aot fanboys

(In advance I have not read the manga)This was a good first episode of “Attack On Titans” last season. We’ve been introduced to new factions the Marlyean faction which is categorized as a military faction for its massive infantry, navy, and Air Force and in this first episode we’ve seen it’s capability’s in action. At the start we were met with new charters who appear to be soldiers in training and who can be chosen for inheriting a titan, as said in the episode. In this episode we’ve saw the new concept of human to human warfare, infantry, an Air Force, a navy, the marlyean faction, the middle eastern faction which lost the four year war in the episode, and a new cast of characters. We’ve also saw the return of Zeke, and Reiner. To conclude I’m stoked to see more from the last season of Attack on Titan.

Now to list some problems I have is mainly the Titans being CGI and how noticeable and annoying it can get. And last season we know none of the Titans had CGI which did make it better. Now this is my final conclusion on the first episode.

It's raining Titans from outta the sky, Titans.

Well here it is, Attack on Titan's final season that everyone has been dying to see.

The only problem this season faces is the CGI, it's not a huge problem however the show would be better if the CGI on the titan's wasn't so wack.

The war is a freaking suicide run, gosh. Titan with the guns on it was super cool and seems like a new titan has been introduced.

Well so far so good, let's see what is in store for us viewers next!

Great first episode :)

Umm No you are entirely wrong on the plot haha . But its fine I was confused as well . This is actually happening after the return to shiganshina arc . Its been four years since that . I mean didnt u see reiner grown up ? . The marley are fighting against another nation called the middle east .

Oh yeah, now that you mention it! It was indeed a little confusing, and the fact that the last season aired a few months ago made it a little more confusing.
I've got the part that they were fighting the middle east nation, omg okkk nvm! I've got it now haha i think, while writing this comment i got what is happening. This is after all of that as you were saying, and this is just Marley fighting a war and using the Eldians as fighters. Now that i got it, omg! Can't wait for the next episodes! This will be epic!

Was a great episode for me, but it's probably my last post on these threads. Only thing I didn't like was the music. Didn't feel like Sawano at all. Ayaneru made a great performance as Gabi, which I really hate as a character.

Waiting for next week.

I agree. I'm kinda disappointed because the music isn't that good.

it may have but the point was just it was animated better in previous seasons, but the cgi isn’t that bad it just can be really noticeable sometimes. I was going to ask should I read the manga?

I'm seeing tons of people saying that it was amazing... damn man I respect everyone's opinion and all the hard work that MAPPA has put into the show but this is such a downgrade compared WIT Studio's work.

Chara designs and backgrounds, great but CGI... MAN. At first I was like "Nah, this is fine" but as the episode went on I felt it awful.

I loved the OP and ED tho.

Overhyped episode. Nothing worthy of progress. From a survival anime to some generic war type hollywood flick. From my standpoint the technical aspect is fine, its an improvement to the prequels. But the story is bad and unengaging.

The fans fawning about how this arc is the greatest or cringy title like "peak fiction". Overall the first episode is nothing special and the scenes are for shock value.

The Titans CGI looks too jarring sometimes (especially the beast titan one) but as someone who's not unfamiliar with CGIs, this one actually still looks really good.

Why why why why why would they change the studio for the final season?

Iirc i read in the article that the director (? I forgot who) said that WiT said they couldn't handle the last season (iirc it's implied that they give up..? Probably seeing what will come or forced release year). And when asking around about the offer to animate this last season, only MAPPA wants to do it and took this highly risky adaptation. So tbf imo I'm glad MAPPA took over at all

Edit 2: added what other people said why WiT gave up continuing it.

I would rather have waited personally, look at seven deadly sins for example, I would rather have waited 5 years for A-1 to finish it than the abomination called season 3 that we got and season 4 will probably be just as bad.

This episode takes place 4 years after s3p2 and they are fighting the mid-east forces. The reason for the war is because Marley lost the colossal and female so the mid-east decided it was the perfect opportunity to strike at Marley. Btw there are no spoilers here all of this was mentioned in the first episode.

actually, same with me. And i also believe that MAPPA too, might've done better with more time too (since this year they're obviously stacked with too many animes). I meant, WIT 2D with MAPPA's CGI. That would make it more awesome.
But what we got, we got it now. I can only cross my fingers.

I'll be honest, I might have like terrible eyes or something, but I straight up didn't even notice it was CGI until like one or two frames with the Beast Titan. The animation was absolutely incredible! The battle was excellent, with all of the titans managing to feel threatening and powerful even when going up against soldiers and armoured trains. Can MAPPA please go back and fix up the Colossal Titan from Season 2 and 3 for like a complete season blu-ray boxset or something now that they're on the production committee?
In all seriousness, I thought it was a great episode. I have full confidence in MAPPA going forward. It condensed the two chapters really well, and managed to fix all of the few issues that I had with the chapters in the manga itself, in terms of the tone and dialogue. I think that rather than feeling like an exposition dump this episode actually felt like a logical sequence in the progression of the overall story. The explanations about why the war was happening, why they were there, and who all the characters were, felt far more natural, and as a result my interest and engagement with the battle itself was much higher.
Controversially, I also think the nods to later chapters, Falco's vision, and Jean buying the newspaper were excellent touches, that also helped to sell why these sequences are important in the overall context of the narrative, and made Falco's introduction in particular, feel a lot more like a main characters by having some clear parallels to Eren's dream with Mikasa.
I really don't understand the criticisms about the OP or the other music throughout the episode, I felt like everything slapped. In all honesty, this OP is easily in my top 3 of what we've seen so far. It captured the more technological feel of this arc as well as the existential dread that defines it, in comparison to the upbeat medieval ones of previous seasons, and the explosions of colour on otherwise statue-like graphics was a fantastic contrast in my opinion. I also imagine some of these explosions will be toned back in later episodes as more information and battles are had, not that in my mind this really needs to happen as I think its fine regardless. It feels like its for a completely different anime granted, but I don't consider that a negative at all, because that's exactly how I felt about the overall story after reading chapters 90 and onwards. Everything that came before now feels more like the prequel to the ACTUAL action, and I think this mature and gritty direction is far superior.
Overall, I'm just so excited that this is actually happening. It's surreal that as the manga is ending we have the final season coming out, and it is so far, absolutely incredible as an adaptation, and as Isayama says the 'final' version of the story. Full disclosure, I felt the same way about Season 3, and thought that it was overall much better than the equivalent manga chapters throughout apart from the occasional 'Ereh' criticisms about Mikasa's characterisation. Nevertheless, I am fully expecting that Season 4 will be the perfect end to this story!

I cried, YES, I DID! I've never thought that I'd watch the final season animated after years waiting for the 2nd season. I'm so happy, and MAPPA did an extraordinary job! God, I love so much the new character designs, Reiner looks so good.

Ok, I must admit that I didn't expect CGI on titans' animation, but it's pretty good compared with the colossal in 2nd and 3rd season. Good.

And the OST, the action scenes, oh God... All animators who are working in these project, you did your best with what you had and I appreciate it!

Mappa surely did a great job on this season, but I still have to say, the CGI is kind of off in some scenes like when Reiner running or beast titan left arm, but it's decent for most of the part. But I do not care that much about CGI tbh, the soft lighting makes the atmosphere of the war less thrilling, I really like WIT's old lighting and clean shading.

Overall a really great episode, the match is hype and epic. THe music though, damn

That CGI was bringing the show down a bit. The exposition insert dialogue was also a bit annoying. Idk if that was in the source material or if some new staff member at MAPPA decided to add that in. Prior seasons have typically been pretty good at mixing exposition with dialogue in a natural way rather than just tossing it in.

But I can't really conclude if I like it overall yet, gotta wait for the story to develop. Plus, maybe those problems will disappear with the following episodes.

Ok the adaptation in itself was great, but I still find Wit's style better suited for AoT.
The CGI titans bother me a lot though, also the fact that Sawano is noiwhere to be heard.
8/10 episode, it'd be 10/10 if not for the CGI titans and the lack of Sawano's music.
