| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- OH-EM-GEE!!! _Graphics: 10/10 Takeshi Obata really improved his style, it still looks kinda like Death Note but got a more mature feel to it and some characters, such as the waitress, are really innovative compared to his previous works. The backgrounds are so clean, it's been such a long time that I was able to savor such high detailed graphics, kinda reminded me of Shigurui in a way. _Story: 10/10 Take that, Zetsubou Sensei, now that was I call "real" suicide. But on a more serious note, the story may be a hit or miss, depending on your love for littereature works. As for me, I have basically been in heaven for the entire 24 minutes, minus the annoying 3-D guy's introduction at the beginning. _Conclusion: IMHO, Fall's season best show (for me) is here, definitely will follow this one til the end of time ( I have impression I have heard this phrase somewhere 8-) And LOL to the "ecchi" scene from 9:12-9:55. I usually dislike and get bored of ecchi scenes but this was one of those rare exceptions, I guess, since I found it totally hot >3< |

| 1st ep was awesome. I'm glad to finally see a nice series this season. Great production values all around. Character development was great; of course, it is adapted from a famous book. | Though I didn't understand much from watching raws, I like the style and the general atmosphere. Really, one of the best shows this Fall. At least smth we don't get to see very often. |
| loved it. 5/5. definitely something i'm gonna keep watching. kinda reminded me of shigurui and ayakashi-japanese classic horror.. it had the same kind of creepy feeling...which i love. probably the best show this Fall.. |

| I have to admit that I was stunned at the art. Never seen such yet. Mayumi's death was tragic. I wonder why the guy (did not get his name) did not join in as a double suicide? I want to know at 11:49 with boy being almost undressed if he was abused sexually? The bar setting, tranway and revolution of some kind much liked! The sexual scene was done fine with no details of body part like breasts and other things I noticed in animes. Found that the sea of blood was done good too. Going to keep following this. | Looks pretty dark with it's mild sex scenes and sexual implications which leads to psychological drama going on in the mind of a potentially convicted murderer who's suicidal. Animation is what you'd expect from Madhouse Studios and creators of Death Note working on it; even the introduced main character looks a whole hell lot like Light. May not be everyone's cup of tea, but for those who like this kind of stuff, it's looking really good. I'll be expecting more in future episodes. |

| it only took a week for the subs, but it was well worth it. very good animation, definitely 10/10, and good story also. |

| Very interesting episode, it should be interesting to see where it goes now. Also, I was worried about it feeling like Death Note due to the art style, but thankfully it feels well removed from it. Although that laugh in the alleyway definetly felt like Light's last laugh. |

| While I was disturbed by the idea of the (aprox) 6 year old boy getting ridden by all those older women, it does explain how the guy became so jaded and annoying. Stilll though, couldn't they have made him look a little older for those scenes? Good start though. |

| Madhouse Quality = EPICNESS Great start, i anticipated this eagerly and i get what I want. A complex story with much of suspense in it. Ooba really looked like Light from the past lol. Want to see next episode, seems this anime will be great |

| very immersive and depressing... looking forward to the next episodes as soon as they are subbed. I don't really feel anything for Oba or the other characters so far, but the emotions and story are vivid and interesting. I was looking forward to this, and with such a huge concentration of talent I don't see how I could be disappointed. |
