Publishing company Kadokawa announced an anime adaptation of Yuka Tachibana's Seijo no Maryoku wa Bannou desu (The Saint's Magic Ability is Omnipotent) light novel on Monday.

Synopsis
Sei, a 20-year-old office worker, is whisked away to a whole new world. Unfortunately for Sei, the ritual that summoned her—meant to produce a "Saint" who would banish the dark magic—brought two people over instead of one. And everyone prefers the second girl over Sei?! But this is just fine by Sei, who leaves the royal palace to set up shop making potions and cosmetics with her newfound magic. Business is booming, and this might not be such a bad life, after all...as long as her supposed Sainthood doesn't come back to haunt her. (Source: Seven Seas Entertainment)

Tachibana began penning the slice of life fantasy novel on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in April 2016. Kadokawa began publishing the series with illustrations by Yasuyuki Syuri in February 2017 and will publish the sixth volume on Thursday.

A manga adaptation by Azuki Fuji has been serialized on the ComicWalker web manga portal since July 2017. The fourth volume was published on February 5.

Seven Seas Entertainment licensed both the light novel and manga in English this April and published the first volume digitally on August 27, with a print release scheduled for November 24. The first manga volume is slated for a December 8 listing.

The moment I saw "Light Novel" on the title, I immediately figured it'd be another fantasy RPG themed isekai getting an anime adaptation... aaaaaand synopsis checks out. What else is new lol

Not surprising that with Hamefura success in Japan they are adapting more otome LNs. I found this mediocre compared to Hamefura though.

All I'm seeing is the reverse Akagami no Shirayuki-hime. However, considering the last sentence of the plot it doesn't seem to last long. She apparently will be called into the royal palace a second time and guess what, one or perhaps two will inexplicably fall in love with her and all the shenanigans will start from there.

I'll probably skip this one. If nothing else, I might rewatch Shirayuki instead.

Ah, this I'm looking forward to. I read the manga and quite like the art. The storyline's somewhat mediocre but I'm good with a normal, comfortable plot.

Meh. It's cool that they're doing more shoujo/josei isekais, but this one isn't particularly good.

Meh. I'm still reading the manga version of this and it's okay, I guess. Wouldn't be my first choice of female MC isekai stories to get an adaption (that will always be 'Common Sense of a Duke's Daughter').

Interesting, as indicated on another page this would be a Josei a demographic for adult women. I do not know if it will be good, but at least they have decided to adapt more variety of isekai Im not referring to if it has a plot twist of black hair teenager being betrayed or whatever, but for a different audience and with a different approach. Approved

Read some of it a while back but did find it to get progressively boring and eventually I just forgot about it. Hopefully the anime can somehow make it more entertaining.

I guess we're going to start seeing more of those those villainess/saintess isekai light novels start getting adapted, since that's what most of these otome/shoujo isekai are.

There are hundreds of isekai LNs waiting for an anime adaptation and hundreds more web novels that are waiting to become LNs.

My question was rhetorical. I already know there's no end to this nightmare.

Doesn't seem interesting from the synopsis and people's comments about how it's boring and stuff is even less encouraging....

But, i'll still check this out just because i'm happy we are getting more actual Isekai's targeted at a female audience for a change!

It's definitely not my first choice for a otome isekai anime adaptation(i have seen ones where the synopsis was much more interesting for example) but alas, i hope this means that otome iseaki anime adaptations are popular and will continue to get lots and lots of adaptations, maybe even rivaling their male counterpart!!!!

Holy... I know since Hamefura was a great success, they will try to adapt something along the line.. but i didn't expect THIS one will be the one got adapted tbh.. and i didn't really remember this was much popular compared to Common sense of a Duke daughter.. and i didn't particularly like how Sei handle some things.. but i guess I'll still check it out.

I'm starting to get embarrassed by my own forum signature line.. XD

This was actually my first otome-ish isekai. I loved Hamefura because it seemed to have a different kind of a spin on this kind of stories (then later I realised villainess MC became a trope lol)

At least Hamefura has paved the way for otome isekai everywhere. I'm waiting for that Bertia and One Punch Woman adaptation.

OK, look. You peoples are still going at it refusing to see the reality even now?
This season, 5 LN adaptation, 1 isekai.
Next season, 9 LN adaptations confirmed, 2 isekai.
Both season together makes for 3 Isekai amongst like 60-100 new shows.
how is 5% of the new shows being isekai a "never ending nightmare"?

No matter what, they have to keep the words of the influencers.
Otherwise... well... the world will not make sense anymore, right?

Therefore, they keep themselves locked in the cells they have propared personally, for the benefit of the ego of their influencer masters, and the lies have to keep spreading for the rest of eternity no matter what.

A world where their influencer masters are and always were wrong? Heresy.

also what people really complain about is the cliches and problems inherited from light novels before these.

@yhunata there is a good difference between a shonen attempt with a black haired teenager gifted with powers and girls and that of a girl who only seeks to live peacefully in this new world, for example the "Ascendance of a Bookworm" it was well received and got a good score by the public of these forums.

I wasn't never talking about the anime adaptations, mate.

You're right. There's plenty of good isekai. Not what I'm talking about either. Just stating how many isekai there are and having looked at some LN in the last few months, boy, there are so, so many.

Is that so, but then my answer still isn't different from my previous answer.
I read LNs in japanese all the time and there's a ton of good LNs both isekai and non isekai being published. No way you'll run out of good non isekai stuff to read any time soon there.
You can blame the english publishers to license too many isekai maybe, but that's not really the fault of the LN japanese side.

Because the LN and manga industry have much more products than anime, by far. There's like 3k or more out at the same time. lol

I like the manga, so I will be looking forward to how this turns out.

wow, not the Female Protagonist Isekai I thought would get adapted into an anime. I was thinking something like In Another World, I'm Called: the Black Healer or maybe even This Time I Will Definitely Be Happy would be adapted 🤷‍♀️

Though I am glad it's not The Vengeful White Cat Lounging on the Dragon King's Lap getting adapted since the secondary female lead/antagonist/'friend' is just too annoying. I prefer dull over annoying drama 🤷‍♀️
It would have been nice to get something else adapted, but eh, hopefully this will lead to more Female Protagonist Isekai getting adapted later on. I hope.
