The pretty obvious ones are Sid Vicous,, Johnny Rotten, Freddy Mercury, Joey Ramone, Bob Marley, and The Residents eyeball character. And the Kurt Cobain bit at the end

Pretty sure I also recognize Japanese bands The 5,6,7,8's and Shonen Knife, and maybe 70s Bowie, Jello Biafra, and maybe RHCP?

But the are few western-looking people, and buttloads of Japanese performers I don't recognize.

Is anyone familiar with the Japanese punk rock/indy scene? Or spot anyone I missed?

One of the sketches that flashes up at the start is The Smiths compilation album Hatful of Hollow.

One of the sketches is Patti Smith.

Also worth noting.. The singer of the ending song is Mark Gardener who was the singer of 90s Shoegaze / Britpop band Ride

First episode, Yukio wears a t-shirt which has ‘Echo’ and ‘Bunny’ on it, which could reference 80s post-punk band Echo & the Bunnymen. He also wears the Andy Warhol Velvet Underground banana t-shirt. I’m a few episodes in and these are the few things I’ve noticed

I wanted to make a comprehensive list of all the artists that were referenced in Beck's end credits for so long (since I couldn't find any)! I finally managed to list most of the artists in my blog: Artists Referenced in Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad's End Credits. Well, just recently, after doing the same thing for Dis COVERS (Record covers from 1965 to 1999 referenced in Dis COVERS)…

It's mostly thanks to the comments section in this upload. I compiled most of the artists from the comments. Of course, I also did some research.
