Don't know if it was intentional or not, but that fight scene against Alina was totally confusing. Other than that, it was an all right episode.

You're definitely not the only one. It had so many quick cuts it felt like that fence jumping scene from Taken 3.

Overall, I enjoyed the episode and it may be my favourite so far. Sana's backstory was interesting, and the idea behind Ai wasn't bad either (though it did kinda remind me of Tay, that Twitter bot people turned into a Nazi in 2016). The art was, as always, pretty great, as I'd expect from Shaft and Madoka Magica. There were a few problems, though.

I feel like Iroha was kinda pointless this episode, and Sana's entire conflict could have been solved without her. She just kinda stood around and said a few lines to Sana, but Ai ended up being able to convince her just fine on her own. Definitely not just this episode's problem, though: Unless she's in her 'witch transformation' state, it seems like she never really contributes anything and just has to be saved by her friends (and told that she's weak afterwards).

Another persistent problem was that, as other people have said, there are too many characters. The characters aren't bad at all, but the sheer quantity of them introduced combined with the rapid speed at which they seem to appear and be cast aside can get overwhelming, especially for someone viewing this week-by-week. It almost feels as if this entire season is just setup for a second season.

In my post i said you can "ENJOY" so i didnt mean this irs a masterpiece, because we know these things are subjetive, when im saying stop worriying its because most people tend to think the history gonna be finished in episode 13 and they feel we didnt explore every character of at least the main cast (Tsuruno/Yachiyo) in the other hand put me another example because Kono Oto Tomere dont even share 1 genre with Magia Record despite i also watched it and liked but for the sake of the comparison i think dont fit.

My point about KOT was simply that you can have a show that is split in two cours and still has a reasonable/acceptable pace. WIXOSS is another good example IMO (and possibly one closer to Madoka in feel, especially the 1st season)

Again you are utting things i didnt said, i said they need at least to portray some characters of all the cast, Kamihama in an enormous urbe, Yachiyo only its the boss from a part of the city, but in ther other side of the city we have another girl in charge and she has some small group in charge (like felicia first group), what im triying to say its this city has his clomplex organization so girls dont crush on thers girls and of course all gonna matter in the end of the story (dont say more because it a spoiler), its imposible to tell every girl story even with 52 episode anime, so if you are interested the logic decisition its go play their personal chapters and learn about them and it the same time the game developers are doind their work.

But why are we supposed to care, really? If a show is flawed, it's flawed. Saying stuff like "it's the best they could do with the source material" doesn't really mean a thing - at most, it means the source in question was a bad choice for an adaptation. Which might very well be the case with Magia Record.

"Issue" its for you, for me isnt because make me feel Mahou Shoujo in this world really exist outside of Mitakihara, only Mahou Shoujo from outside was Kyoko in the OG series, i think its called "worldbuiding".

It would be actual worldbuilding if the characters weren't introduced and put aside as swiftly as they are. I mean, how am I supposed to even care for a char if I can't even count on it not being sidelined out of nowhere next episode?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bottom line is, if you're enjoying it I'm happy for you. I'm not saying it's a bad anime myself, I have it at 6/10 or something. I'm simply saying that it has some glaring issues compared to the original, and the fact these issues may or may not be due to the source doesn't change the fact they're issues.

I'm on the too messy for an anime camp but I liked this episode on its own a lot, and sometimes that's all that matters.

The start of it was quite scary for me... I thought the invisible girl had some *evil* intent but apparently not. During the battle I kinda worried that one of them would die too soon before being able to say goodbye so that was also scary, but due to this being animated thanks to a game I would know that they wouldn't die like that. Phew, good thing it was a game. And then the AI, damn she so kind to her. And she came to that conclusion really quickly. I think she turned into a better AI after meeting Sana. I think AI would've been great outside but I can't really think of a way to bring AI out, unless you just put AI's soul into a Ball and let her talk somehow. But eh, Ima watch the next episode!!!!

The relationship between Ai and Sana is beautiful but unfortunately I do not feel anything due to the little screen time they have. Her past is really cruel and sad.

I am surprised that the choreography of the battle turned out to be very confusing. Also, I like Alina's design.

3/5

All weebs creatures of the galaxy, hear this message. Those of you who listen will not be struck by western animation. You will no longer know hunger, nor pain. Your Anime have come to lead you now. Our strength shall serve as a luminous sun toward which all intelligence may blossom. And the impervious shelter beneath which you will prosper. However, for those who refuse our offer and cling to their western animation ways… For you, there will be great wrath.

Ok, the whole trapping a person in a tower reminds me of something. That is, of course, the spiritual ability "Superfly" in "Diamond is Unbreakable". I think it's very possible that they're referencing that franchise. Of course, the mechanic on how a person is trapped is different.

I really love the relationship between Sana and Ai. Honestly, though, I'd also stay with her assuming that it's beyond a shadow of doubt that she could create an ideal world for me and no one could ever change that. So yeah, I kind of sympathise with Sana. Interestingly, the "futa" in Futaba could be a pun on "two." As in futari (two persons).

Ai letting Sana kill her feels like a nod to Madoka asking Homura to shoot her soul gem.

Ai and Sana both look like a green Takatsuki Yayoi from The iDOLM@STER. People did notice that Kyouko from the original series looked a lot like a red, tragic version of Hibiki Ganaha (from the same series as Yayoi). Both even have rather the similar personalities. So yeah, I think it isn't far off that MagiReco is referencing iM@S.

This Ai.. She wants to be deleted?.. What?..
Ah ok, she is a program who had to lure in people..
Well.. It's not really Hitori Bocchi, if you can talk with AI.. Well, maybe that's the thing.. That in our age, maybe, Hitori Bocchi in full isn't too possible.. Unless you would also decide to shut from AI as well and stuff.. But well, that's just my ramblings..
Interesting and touching scenes between Ai and Sana.. They both have their hard feelings, and both enjoy each other company.. I like their story.. Wish we'd get more development like this for other girls as well..
The best episode so far.. Really, the best.. I can't expect better episode than this, really.. And I probably won't.. I think we got the best episode of this season right here and now..

Yes! I could finally feel that original Madoka Magica vibe with Sana's backstory and final resolution with her killing the "being" she cared for the most. Oh, sweet tragedy~

Easily, best episode so far. As expected, both Rumors were related in the end by this "Endless Solitude" connection. Sana being the "invisible girl" who wanted to escape from the real world and Ai being the "radio waves voice" that owned the place Sana was seeking. Absolutely loved the artistic direction and general portrayal of Sana's state of mind, by the way.

Both Ai and Sana's backgrounds were so interesting to know and the sad farewell between them was nicely handled as well. The episode felt a bit fast-paced towards the end tho. Especially once Alina showed up and not to mention that the whole fighting sequence against her was really hard to follow and pretty confusing overall.

Other than that, I liked pretty much everything about this episode. So far, I can say Sana is the best written character... though being honest, that actually doesn't say much since most of the characters presented till now lack some proper development.

Her as well? Are you sure? Sana was the "invisible girl" so I assumed Ai was the radio voice since she was the one who was trying to bring young girls to her domain to interact. She was the one who contacted Iroha too so...

Like Tsuruno explains, the radio wave girl can be heard crying that she wants to get out, or laughing in Sana's case.

Definitely the coolest mini-arc so far with Sana being a runaway girl finding companionship in the form of an unwanted AI whose purpose is to have conversations with humans via any means

But damn could they slow down on the rapid fire introductions on MORE MAGICAL GIRLS? I don't mind if it's presented in a decent way that compliments the story but as of now it's blatant gacha advertisement
