This episode was rather calm, but needed imo. Wonder how the next game is going to look like.

Well, looks like Kaiji got drawn into the gambling siren calls again...but if he didn't, then he wouldn't have a show, would we?

This episode was all right, as it's clearly just setting up the arc to come. I wonder what the party holds for us?

Ok so this anime rocks so far but I'm having trouble understanding some of the finer details of the rock paper scissors arc.

Firstly, how does winning the game with 3 stars benefit you at all if you don't make any extra money? For example, way back when Funai came up with the plan to tie with Kaiji so they both keep their 3 stars, wouldn't that just put them both in more debt since they don't have any extra stars to trade for cash to pay their existing debt plus the loan borrowed from the ship?

Secondly, how was Kaiji not forced to do labor for the debt collectors. I thought that if you don't have 3 stars + 0 cards, you're a "loser" and forced to go into hard labor for a couple of years. Well, Kaiji gave away his stars to the other man that he met behind the mirror meaning he had 0 so how was he let free?

Lastly, Kaiji's new debt is roughly 6 million. As far as I'm concerned the number is completely off. His debt before coming on to the ship was roughly 3 million. He borrowed 10 million and used most of the 4 hours, meaning he almost accumulated 40% interest. Wouldn't this push his debt to around 17 million? Unless for some reason the anime didn't show him keeping some money because it seemed like he used all of it to trade for the last star he needed.

Thanks to anyone who's willing to help answer these questions. I literally couldn't find these answers anywhere else.

same three questions, doesn't make any sense.

Not a lot happened here. This wasn't even a setup episode. It was a gap episode something to keep the show floating and link to the next arc

This episode was transitional for the next gambling-event.. Hopefully, Kaiji will pay off his debts.
I really liked this episode, it let some space for kaiji's development.

still can't get over the fact that furuhata was the main reason kaiji ended up in that situation and how the series started, and yet the next arc continues like it was nothing.
