High School Prodigies Have It Easy Even in Another World! (light novel)
| Seriously, this is a really well made show. Great production values in the art, sound and directing. The premise is interesting with an ensemble cast of varied characters with different skills working together in an otherwise pretty typical isekai fantasy world. Also, the mix of light-hearted tones mixed with dramatic moments and a committment to be sexy without it coming off as literal fan service (or "box-ticking" as I like to call it)... all great. But what is it about making characters OP in isekai shows? It ruins the tension. Far too many moments in this show there has been a raising of the stakes before one character just Mary Sues their way out of trouble. I think I could really like this if the characters weren't so OP. The cliffhanger from the last episode is the first time I've really felt tension as to what will happen next in terms of feeling like they are in actual trouble. I really hope the next episode doesn't open with a 10 second, half-assed explanation how one of the characters used their "genius" to stop the attack on the city at the last second. |

| ikr it's a generic kind of anime but a good one at that, the only thing im bothered with are the repetitive animations and some other small details |

| It's my guilty pleasure. xD I'm just enjoying whatever they throw at me at this point. (And yeah, it's really pretty so that helps lol) But what is it about making characters OP in isekai shows? It ruins the tension. That's why I love Cautious Hero (which I see you're watching too). They know it's silly so they go all the way with it. :) |

| I think what ruins any literal plot on this is literally the premise that they're already, as we know it OP. This is the premise and something that we cannot escape from, I feel like. Yes we've seen the world, and the ppl from it. But that doesn't mean anything at this point. Even the backstory of the HSer doesnt interest me one bit. It's like watching Overlord all over again, what I could only care is how the outside/the ppl in the world reaction to how the MC is wreaking havoc. |

| The only thing I save from this show is Ringo. And I agree, it could have been so much better. |

One dimensional characters aren't bad if the show isn't taken completely serious. Same goes for the overpower trait.
