Whoa, that's some intense thread right there! All I wanted to know was whether it's gonna get a second season or not. Most people seem to say no. It's fine, really - if I had to be 100% objective, I'd score it from 4 to 6~7-ish... but I really, really enjoyed it nevertheless so I kinda did some research. But the way first season ended is okay-ish, so it's fine.

stopping rating on a technical basis, and start doing it by enjoyment since thats what its about. if you really really enjoyed it, then a score of 4-7 is trash

Mate, if you look at my profile and click "forum posts", you should notice that I stopped caring about scores a few days after my "How the hell should I score anime" thread. I'm using a script to hide scores when I'm looking at the page of an anime on MyAnimeList, and I stopped scoring for a good while now. The few animes that I have scored have been scored during my first few days.

Also... scoring this anime from a completely objective point of view inevitably leads to a score below 7. However, "But I really, really enjoyed it" translates to "But I'll be subjective and I'd give it 9-10". I'm explaining, just in case you didn't want to dedicate enough of your processing power to come up with that deduction.
Things (not just anime) can be classed as "average/bad" on a technical basis but can still be very enjoyable.

Also, there is no point and no meaning to this discussion of ours.

We seem to be polar opposites here. Enjoyment only takes up to 2 of 10 points on my scale. I can see why you would judge a series purely by enjoyment, but that is the fundamental reason why we keep getting shit anime every season. When you lower the bar like that it makes it easier to pass off poor art direction, voice acting, and audio as standard. Every season, despite technical advancements, animation and audio quality get worse. Why? People are giving high ratings to shows that have crap animation and audio. It tells the studio that they don't need to put in effort.

Before you even dare try and tell me that animation and audio don't matter, I want you to say hello to the game industry. Every god damn year the games have gotten worse. Less effort is being put into making real games because ignorant blokes buy games "because they are fun", not realizing that fun is constantly being stripped out and put behind extra paywalls. Audio and visual quality remains stagnant since developers are no longer required to innovate. Games are no longer games.

You are free to continue rating based solely on enjoyment, but don't you dare for even a second start telling people to vote against their interests.

Authors don't create manga/anime so people like you could nitpick apart all the time. Why we get shit anime every season? you must be one of those elitists that's stuck in a particular era and cant move past it "back in my day, anime didnt contain cute MoE girls that destroys the plot."i dont know what youre talking about, it is actually advancing, you wanna compare any 2007-2010 anime with recent ones that are renowned for its visuals such as violet evergarden or kimetsu no yaiba? there's just no competition. Not every anime is gonna be good; in fact, you need shit ones to really appreciate and understand what makes a good anime. High ratings? do you really think that is what influences an anime? Studios don't give a shit about ratings especially internationally. Its more about sales and not in any country but Japan. Not a single studio is gonna look up MAL ratings and decide whether to produce an anime or not lol.... I never said they don't matter, if anime with lots of plot holes, shitty animation, or audio effects how much you enjoy it then that's okay. Personally, i know shows like SAO is total trash from a technical standpoint, but it did not affect how much i enjoyed it while i didn't enjoy shows like Ajin much because the animation was a turn off.The only variable that differs from person to person when watching an anime is how much they understood and enjoyed it. Everyone experiences the same plot, visuals, audio etc... yet people like you still have significant gaps in ratings for different technical aspects. We are not professional critics, its not our job to deconstruct an anime. We are there to watch and determine how much we enjoyed it which is intended by the author.

I will rub off my ideals how i want. People needs to be reminded that an anime is something to watch, a story that an author wants people to experience. Not something to be critiqued to every last construct that it has to offer.

The same joke can be used with Any Anime that hasn't been truly cofirmed like OPM 2
