It was nice to see the ending animated at least, but I'm still not a fan of the different character design and lesser art compared to the beautiful original art of the manga. The sound track for the atmospheres and directing, as well as the overall effects in the scenes, with cinematography is also bland. I'm not a big fan of the voices either from most of the characters. They're not what I imagine from my experience of the manga. ... As for the adaptation in faithfulness, I don't remember everything they left out but they skipped through a lot, while only showing the most pivotal moments in the story to rush to the ending. ... The ending itself had a lot of gaps and a lack of the short epilogue from the original last chapter. His teasing of Oga and Kariu when entering the house and how he actually meets Oga's brother was excluded and changed. This scene was also after Arara reunites with Hishiro. His discussion with Hishiro after the reveal was excluded. The reunion itself had different dialogue and didn't happen exactly like the manga. I wish we'd get a proper full faithful adaptation with the correct art and better cinematography and directing in the scenes. I cried on the scene they hugged as high schoolers, just like I did from the manga. |

I cried on the scene they hugged as high schoolers, just like I did from the manga. Agree 100% with what is said above. 8.7/10 = 9 (keep in mind I gave the manga a 9.7, there is an HUGE difference between both, the manga is probably the best drama you can read) I think having this was better than not having anything at all, they at least made the best use possible of those 4 episodes. Ok, they didnt adapt the final 2 amazing chapters, just arranged it to let anime viewers know Chizuru works on Relife lab and that Arata is going to help Ooga's old brother (an arc they skipped so anime onlies wont get much from that scene anyway), at least it worked to give them some extra info, that wouldnt otherwise be there if they had adapted straight. Cinematography, beautiful art and execution were really lacking, same for the OST (they could have chosen much better scores for their reunion for example). The exceptions were when it is found chizuru had written that on her hand, and their farewell at the school, those were really nicely done for the little time they had left. Far from the manga, it was still something the most adamant of "anime only watchers", at least they had some closure here, the rest, give the manga a shot, from start, you wont believe how easy it is to read despite knowing the plot, and second half will have ALOT of extra build and more scenes to give everything you saw here, so much more meaning and enduring joy. |

Yeah. Definitely recommend the manga. One of the best romance, for sure. Heck, I might reread it one day. Rereading the last chapters again in comparing the anime was bittersweet. Looking forward to this author's next work. Beautiful digital art too. |

Rewatched this anime twice and loved it. The manga's last 4 chapters added the necessary epilogue, which I wanted. Seriously though, I need one more series like this to fill the void. |

Kaizaki's a good friend. Oga may have likely forgotten about him, but he still remembered that Oga's brother was in need of rehabilitating. (sequel hook perhaps? lol) The writing-on-the-hand bit reminded me of Kimi no Na wa. I was really glad to see Kaizaki and Hishiro together at last. |

ohh.. i really liked those 4 episodes but I cant help but feel that this was super duper rushed... A shame because I really started to enjoy watching these characters, especially Kaizaki, Hishiro, Yoake and Oga. I would have loved a proper conclusion with a 12 episode season or something. I wanna say this was a step up from season 1 because I enjoyed it much more but the feel of skipping over dozens of chapters every single minute is just too strong. I also don't like how everything is setup so easily at the end of how they regain their memories of each other.. It doesn't feel very satisfying like the kimi no na wa ending for example. I named that show because I felt like those 2 endings had a few things in common especially with the trinket. Took me like almost 2 weeks to finish 17 episodes but I definitely did enjoy my watch. I could really connect with the memory loss story and the feeling of leaving happiness and friends that you cherish behind, knowing that they will forget about you is super sad to me. |

Wish they had went into at least a little detail about the memory erasure procedure. I suppose Kaizaki and Hishiro's pills included whatever unbelievablly specific drug they devised, but how in the world do they get the memories of the other high-schoolers altered? |

Great finale! Little re-enactment of the past with that little “excuse me, this is my seat” bit but that just goes to show how much she’s improved as a character and followed by that hilarious yet gold “Figh On!” which is just brilliant! Convenient little rekindling with the phone strap scene but I think I’m just too happy for them to point out the glaring flaws, just like in my previous watch. I found it really consistent how Kaizaki is willing to let the ReLIFE info open unlike Hishiro, they really are polar opposites in many ways. Pity that we didn’t get the more satisfying ending from the manga though and too many omissions from there on a serious note but that can’t be helped, I’m just super glad TMS Entertainment and the Production Committee Green-lit these little special episodes to conclude. Would’ve really liked to see a bit more of a reaction from Kaizaki when he entered Ooga’s house there though, it really hit me in the manga format after all. Anyway, stellar buildup with the date and eventful confession last episode! In addition to that, that touching hug and An breaking down in response to Hishiro’s little message (we finally got to see more of Hishiro during this scene in the final moments too which was of course brilliant) was really touching to say the least. It’s sad that the other classmates won’t know of the two but at least they know of each other and are back more than anything else. They’ve shared their ‘thanks’ and a closure to that as such, imo. Music Department remained iffy throughout these 4 episodes too, in all honesty. Kind of ruining the last episodes’ final moments with that hippy music didn’t really blend in well, would prefer the 2nd ED (by Yui - Cherry) in that kind of a situation any time of the day to be frankly honest. 8.20/10.0 to these Specials! Will probably read the final few manga chapters for a bit more of a satisfying closure. |

Loved it, never seen the manga so I can't speak on that part. Really sad it was so short though. The ending made me cry and smile. I really could relate myself with mr. Kaizaki being the age myself and I would've done many things differently myself when I had a ReLIFE. |

So this is how it ends huh... Precious friends and precious memories, all left behind in such short notice. With a simple; "Thank you so much!" both Kaizaki and Hishiro fade from everyone's memory with only ghostly pictures and the consequences of their actions be the only reminder of their existence. It saddens me to know that this is all over, but it hurts me to see both Kaizaki and Hishiro knowing full well that they will be forgetting one another despite how much each of them cared for one another. The ship between these 2 new couples will soon to begin to fade as ReLife comes to an end. I'm happy that Kaizaki found the job that he has passion for, helping people with the experiences he had in life. Knowing full well that Oga's big brother is a NEET, it's only right for him to be helped first by Kaizaki. But it only gets better for him afterwards, seeing a familiar figure during a typical night at the bar. I screamed madly when Kaizaki and Hishiro saw each other. Then again when they're alone discussing their own ReLife experiences. Thanks to the memorable moments they've gone through together, each of them managed to break the obstacle of the mind-erasing drugs. Thanks to the memorable moments they've shared together during their ReLife, it's now possible for them to share more memorable moments together in their Life from now on as they have now regained their full memories. If they have never taken the leap to enjoy their moments and create memorable memories during their ReLife, they may never have even managed to regain these lost memories once they're back in their RealLife. I'm absolutely glad that this is how it ended, the ship that has faded soo break out of the mist and sailed toward a bright and heartwarming future! Of course, I felt that this ending was rushed, I don't know to what extent, but it does feel rushed. However, I absolutely love how it's handled. There's no bullshit of a string attached here, it's rushed but it's a solid fucking ending that made me teared up during some of its emotional scenes. ReLife really showed me that I need to cherish every single waking moments I have possible with my friends, while they're still here within my reach right now as time... is limited. |

I actually expected them to say at the end there "we told you they would not remember you, but that was really just a lie...there's no way we can erase their memories of you" Do they drug the entire school? That seems criminal without their consent. In, fact making them lose any memories at all seems pretty unethical. Imagine they encouraged an ReLife subject to fall in love with a student who was not an ReLife subject, and they lost all of those memories. Kaizaki's entire problem started from the trauma of losing a close friend. Seems like he would benefit more from grief counseling instead of sending him to high school to make a whole new batch of friends he will lose. That seems like a pretty traumatic experience too. I guess some of those concerns don't really fit the plot though....and I really did love this show. There were just some things that made me say WTF? I was glad Kaizaki and Hishiro remembered each other in the end, but I was kind of hoping they became teachers or something at the college that their friends were attending. I wish they gave us some more closing story on the rest of the students. I assume that Kaizaki was assigned to Oga's brother though. |

It was fine I guess? I am still salty that they cut out ALL of Hishiro's character development from the festival preparation arc though. That being said I actually think that this OVA handled some scenes better than the manga like An finding out about Hishiro's message. I wish they wouldn't had changed the ending that much though… Overall a 5/10. It had its moments but is WAY too rushed in some parts… This OVA absolutely does not replace the second half of ReLIFE. Treat it as kind of a neat „add-on“ after you finish the manga. It really is worth the read. It's also fully coloured btw. |

The whole ReLIFE experiment is full of plot holes and nonsense things: -Both could remember each other in the end even though that is forbidden. -No explanation on how memories got erased. -ReLIFE supports are not fit for this work. -No one in real life suspects anything. And the drama in this show is not good. 3/10 for the anime. |

I wish we'd get a proper full faithful adaptation with the correct art and better cinematography and directing in the scenes. I cried on the scene they hugged as high schoolers, just like I did from the manga. ^Pretty much this^ Some thoughts: I think another episode or two of the OVA would have fixed things. The manga can drag on too long with pretty shots of high schoolers enjoying themselves, so the anime pared that down appropriately. Still, I would have liked: - A scene where it was explained why they couldn't remember each other specifically when they could remember their experiences and friends (this was in the manga). - The bench scene (in the manga) after the reveal at the end with a proper, actual, VISIBLE kiss (not in the manga or the anime). Dammit. - More fleshing out of the subplot a/b Kazuomi's brother. They did this a bit, so this is a minor gripe. As stated above, the art style, direction and animation definitely let down the quality of the material. The tinkly piano soundtrack was also distracting at times. I did appreciate the utter and total absence of fanservice for once. It was smarter and more thoughtful than it had to be, with very fleshed-out characters. For example, it would have been easy to make Ryou or An bad guys, but they were more complex than that. Same with the rest of the supporting cast. 7.5/10 |

I thought this was alright when I watched this a couple years back, a decent sequel to a decent show but I have to say that I found it continuously difficult to care about the supporting cast and their petty teen relationships and the supporters to the main duo were often irritating with their sticking their noses in others affairs. With Hishiro and Kiazaki I found it difficult to sympathize as well given they knew what was going to happen at the end of their ReLife. An arbitrary thing, there to cause this drama but a consequence nonetheless. Given the fact their memories were erased I had a hard time believing that just seeing a strap and a couple phrases would be enough to undo the memory wipe. That easy? Lousy procedure I suppose. Until then I guess there was no problem having their relationship erased, their lives were proceding with no emptiness where their love was stolen. Perhaps the manga explored this more (haven't read it) but with the anime if they had never met, no consequence. Sad in its own way I suppose though would have made their love that much more pointless. I am also finding it much more morally suspect that this company has the ability and I suppose they think the right to effect the memories of innocent people whenever they want. What gives them this right to cause such damage to others? How do they do it anyway? Kidnap these kids and teachers from their bedrooms at night to do their mad scientist procedure to keep their precious secret ReLife? I suppose they care nothing about how their subjects may have effected those around them and that erasing their presence could have a very negative result in their own lives? I suppose collateral damage is acceptable if it gets NEETs out of their homes though, I believe that was the goal of this project. I feel real sorry for them, who knows what kind of holes they have to accept now. Like Kiazaki convinced Oga to confess but now he is gone from Oga's memories. So how does he reconcile this fact now? Convince himself that he did it himself? Replace Kiaizaki with someone else? Curious. |

This is the only episode I somehow liked. The others were too rushed and just simply didn’t do justice to how great the manga was but understandable seeing as they can’t just adapt every arc or scene in just 4 episodes Regardless this is still a very fitting and satisfying ending, almost made me cry to be honest. |

So it's over, i was really expecting a bit more. It was clearly rushed tho... Would have loved to see them all together at Uni, because it doesn't make sense right now, like what so he moved on and never tried to contact them? That final scene! What a way to end! I'm glad that we were able to see at least that, so after all it's not that hard to remember someone xD Would have been much better if they at least have shown that he was watching his classmates or something like that. And no development on Ryou x An? C'mon! The whole An scene didn't make any sense lmao, what if she had x20 drawings like that over her body and had hidden papers telling the true, all of that could have been easily avoidable, especially since An could have just ignored it... But i guess they reunited after all so... I don't know how much better it was in the manga, but i'm glad that we at least got this! What an ending, so glad i had the chance to watch this and rewatched the original series again. Thank you! What an anime this was. I really enjoyed the anime, the story is just 10/10 and i feel like i will have to read the ending of the manga since this way more rushed. |

After finally watching this properly. I don't think this felt too rushed. But I feel like a lot of parts probably got skipped over. I really like this though, more so than the other season. Hishiro crying was so sad. God, I love this girl so much. Kaizaki choosing to work for ReLIFE was kinda unexpected but not surprising, seems like the kind of dude that would make great support. 7/10 |

Does not help one bit that shortly, I finished the actual manga and it left me stunned and mesmerized with a perfect finish. But while I like the fact that Kaizaki and Hishiro suceeded with their ReLIFEs, and even somehow remembered that they were together and got together too, the presentation definitely felt way too rushed where the lack of explanations and genuine care put into the pacing, hurt the impact too. It was fine for an anime, but it could have been so much better. And that's my feelings with the OVAs in particular, definitely fun to watch but compared to how much of a masterclass it could have been, significantly underachieved as an adaptation. Overall, I'd give the specials now a generous 6/10 since I still did enjoy it, but damn it had too many issues for me to go higher with the OVAs. Overall for the anime, a 6.5 seems fair. Nowhere close to the manga, but still watchable to finish the story quicker and if you just prefer the anime medium as a whole. Glad I gave ReLIFE another watch/read though, especially together. |

Nice story and characters. I awaited of three possible endings with saving of memories. Kaizaki and Hishiro could have preserve their memories by becoming trainers of Relife before memory erase and ending of experiment. They could preserve memories by an initiative of Ooga, he just needed to be overdramatic but still rational and send several emails to a chief like "what is the point of saving people from the darkness if after a hope we gave to them we'll abandon them in loneliness and despair?" or something like that. And of course the third option which was obvious after I saw these paired pendants. I thought that Ooga and Onoya will simply make Kaizaki and Hishiro meet in some random bar so they will see pendants of each other so it could be a new start. But it ended as a mix of options in a most romantic way in the end. Still can't take seriously a premise like "make a new positive experience but lose memories of it" since experience is based on memories, in short no memories - no experience. So technically it's enough to erase Kaizaki's bad memories starting from work experience to change his life. Local concept works better with Hishiro since she needed some new life experience to change her behaviour in future but Kaizaki's behaviour was pretty adequate in terms of scummy company he worked. So it looked like Kaizaki had psychological rehabilitation when Hishiro had a course of social adaptation. Also such an experience is worthless because let's be honest school life is different even from university/college and of course especially far from lonely work life. |
