An info dump with a few clips of what happened while she is telling the story is a clear way of telling the whole mythology of the show in a whole episode (or here two).

That's something that some movies and tv shows do which really doesn't help the viewer get invested in the story at all. You need to take time with telling us about the whole story behind a world.

Here it seems the writer only wanted to get rid of this episode fast so they try to do as much as they can do in a very small amount of time which really doesn't help spiking the viewer's interest.

If it had taken more episodes with us learning more and more as we watched the show, it would have been a more effective tool of storytelling than what they did here.

I was into the previous episode because the story behind it was quite interesting but this episode really threw me out of it and shows that just reciting a story (yes with images here) really doesn't help anyone.
I'm pretty sure even kirito couldn't bare one more second of listening to her.

The last thing is how they tell you what the final goal is in such a way that it fells quite boring, and that's why i hope there is more to it than just achieving this goal.

There was nothing left to show though, what are you even talking about lol

Once the flashback explaining how Cardinal got in that library was over, she LITERALLY spent the rest of the episode:

1. Explaining her theories behind the world and the "Gods" from the real world

2. Explaining how she believes that the evil creatures of the world are gonna attack them all and destroy everything

3. Explaining how Administrator foolishly believes that her Knights will be enough to repel these monsters (And we DID see her resurrect and command the very first knight to attack the dragon from hat cave with the goblins)

4. Her asking Kirito for that hug

5. Her explaining how the system call thing works in regards to high level weapons (And if you wanted to see this, it makes no sense for us to even see it happen here since I'm 1000% certain that once the fights vs these Knights start, we are certainly going to see what she meant here)

I repeat, what more do you possibly want? Because none of these things even remotely warrants any added visuals since it LITERALLY JUST EXPOSITION - Which idek if you actually know the meaning of since you're complaining about not seeing anything

Im not complaining about added visuals, i'm complaining about watching a boring ass episode where the show (or light novel) could have clearly told this little by little through multiple episodes instead of just doing a huge info dump which is what made this whole episode so boring.

And telling the whole history of the world which we are supposed to be interested in shouldn't be that boring but here it is.

I am not asking for more visuals, i am saying we didn't need this episode at all where the show could have been a tad smarter than just doing a info dump by instead telling all this info through multiple episodes to make it more exciting for the audience.

Why do you think series have moments like this that are filled with exposition lol? Apart from the obvious answer (Which is world building/characterization), it's so that they can get it all out of the way to appease people like you that just want to see constant action and eye candy

I'l talking about knowing how to write and tell a story, and that is a very bad way to tell a story to just info dup.

The viewer is not here to try to get the author, it's the author that is there to make the viewer interested.

If you truly think only action and eye candy can make someone interested in a story than you definitely have seen the worst in anime.

I see the best in anime, and the anime i watch don't have eye candy, constant action or info dump.

there are other ways to tell a story than these 3 aspects, the thing is, the writers weren't smat enough to think about it, that is all.

I actually find the premise of the Character Cardinal pretty interesting but holy shit as we know from the series this Character got shit on by going the complete chliche way and is kinda just a "tool" to explain the story that is getting more and more weird and dumb every episode...

And that one sentence "you have to accept defeat" no of course not because he is Kirito :)

My prediction:
Kirito will find a way to save this world and will defeat the administrator without getting completly defeated once,maybe he struggels while fighting but in the end he will win every fight or at least doesnt loose

So we get throw more information about the world and what's happening, Cardinal doesn't want Adminsitrador to rule anymore and find Rath managements of the world bad, I mean they haven't done a thing with all that has happened, like wanting the ruin of the world. According to Cardinal only way to fix it is to send the world to nothingness. But that means deleting all the beings on this world so Kirito find that she is to be trusted (without any real evidence, except that she saved their life) so he decides to co-operate but trying to find a solution that doesn't need to delete all fluctlights, but a happy ending. Anyways I need to read the light novel too, but the episode was good for me.

-The Cardinal is an old and lonely woman. Pretty much saw something like that coming when she said there was something that she had been desperate to experience just once for the last 200 years. Had expected a kiss though, but a hug makes it wholesome and not too awkward.

-The Cardinal: Won't be anything to disrupt the order of the world if there aren't anyone.

-God created us to suffer and abandoned us.

-Climbing floors = Throwback to the "good ol' days" eh Kirito?

Another important info-dump episode that told us some of the Cardinal's backstory. Eugeo and Kirito have her support on their goal to not only save Alice, but to ultimately defeat the Administrator and save the world too.

9:01 I can relate to that so much. As a "God" in CK3, seeing an empire rule peacefully for centuries is boring to observe. I want to see civil war and endless chaos of people trying to outdo each other and rule their realm. It's too bad the AI in CK3 is so dumb that I have to intervene now and then just to make things interesting. In their case, the Rath admins are letting this happen to produce the best kind of AI for the JSDF.
I'm sure Rath has a failsafe to prevent even the most powerful AI in that world to destroy everything.
Damn, they have to memorize all of that to maximize the use of their weapons. As someone bad at memorizing things, that's a big RIP.
