I feel like having Demiurgus basically plan everything will end up with him betraying Ainz. Although the fact that he is a guild NPC and apparently extreme loyalty to Ainz makes me doubt that will happen at some point.

Although considering how Shalttear(?) was mind controlled, would be funny to find out that Demiurgus also is under mind control and he is effectively making all the plans for Nazarick (in some way at least).

Never happening. Shaltear got mind controled because she was in a blood frenzy and Nazarick did not know about the world having world items. Now everyone out in the field has a world item to guard against that

Great episode, we need more episodes like these past two.

I actually took a liking to the emperor guy, he's actually got some wit about him. He's just trying to face the wrong enemy.

The throne room scene was pure awesome, loved it.
I love this 'Demiurge, explain the plan I never thought of for me' kinda routine we have going. xD

Come on, I was so betting on them choosing the title Overlord.

Didn't expect that the old guy Paladyne had betrayed the emperor, that was interesting. Can't wait for more.

The throne scene was a bit disappointing compared to the LN, it's supposed to be packed with the many denizens of Nazarick but I guess animating so much life in one area is too hard for Madhouse right now.

Anyway, the die has been cast and the stage is going to be ready soon for the infamous SPLAT scene.

is it going to happen in this season or not?

It’s going to be in the penultimate episode or the last episode of this season. If we are getting a season 4 its probably going to cover the Dwarven Kingdom and Holy Kingdom (depending on the pacing)

Demiurge is far too loyal to Ainz at this point (though if Ulbert were too show up, he would quickly go to his side). Among all the guardians, Demiurge is the most fanatical since he always think Ainz is such a master schemer when in reality, Ainz just coincedentally exceeds or goes with his plan which leaves more misunderstanding between them (and hilarious moments).

Ulbert would be more than on board with everything Ainz is doing. Heck he'd be worse than Ainz. So even if Demiurge decided to go with his creator it still wouldn't really lead to a betrayal of Ainz

This is still the same anime where a guy trapped in the virtual world , Right ??????

Cu'z the way I look at it was it is moving away from that premise.

they are never trapped in a game but transported to another world,it's isekai type novel

and Ainz is not even trying to go back to his world, but trying to conquer the world

Regarding Overlord III episode 9. So far I'm following what Ains thinks And the King thinks about doing each others country in and taking over, But..I have a question about Gazaf Stronoff, at the airing of Season 3 Episode 1, on Hulu I saw a short 60 sec video where Gazaff challenged Ains to a dual. It's not a Spoiler to ask because it was an official trailer. I can't imagine Ains gets done in by Gazaff. Anyone know about this?

Ah yes, I remember Ainz recalling Ulbert jokingly suggesting world domination as their goal in one of his brief flashbacks with the guild. They might come hand in hand in their goal though Ulbert will be more than motivated and determined to see it through whereas Ainz wasn’t even planning it in the first place.

The Emperor is smart figuring it all out, too bad Demiurge is even smarter than he is. The war between the to-be-founded-Nazarick vs the Alliance-whatever, that'll be a sight to see! If it came to pass that is.

So that's why Fluder was musing to himself last episode that the Emperor was like his own son but...here was the "but", he was ready to worship and kiss Ainz's bony arse, and sacrifice everything so he can get a glimpse of Ainz's magical power.

So we're nation/state-building business now are we? >_<
You see there's no need to wonder where your god is,
Coz he's right here! ...and he's fresh out of mercy.

Even though all the kingdoms in the new world are united, they will still not be able to destroy Nazarick. Remember, Nazarick is an unconcuer dungeon. Each floor guardian is level 100 npc, except for victims and gargantua. In addition, Ainz still has a trump card rubedo, he also has access to use all weapons from 40 supreme being, including world items. Even if the Six Great Gods and Dragon Lords attack Nazarick, they still have no chance. All hail bonedaddy

Every episode that I watch I become more and more convinced this is written by the author of Gamers. The entirety of this show relies on misunderstandings from 300 IQ Demiurge and the subsequent driftwood like actions of Ains.

This episode, at least, refrained from continuing the autistic edge lord theme of the past couple episodes and was actually kind of enjoyable. Jir is probably the first character I've actually taken an interest in. Hope he doesn't stick around for 10 minutes like every other character the author tries (and fails) to make us care about.

If the show continues to build off this episode there may actually be hope for it.

Another "SASUGA Ainz-sama" episode!
Did the emperor really think that combining all Humanity would defeat Ainz? Is the emperor planning to have someone betray the currently generals of Ainz? oh man...the emperor must be dreaming!
So is Fluder Paradyne the Human spy of Ainz? Looks like even Emperor also noticed that as well...
5/5!

An interesting thing to note about the Emperor this episode: yes, Demiurge obviously saw straight through his plan and all, which will probably mean the Empire is royally screwed once Ains gives the order to deal with them (it's very clever to send Demiurge as the Emperor may think he can exploit that insubordination, when in reality Demiurge is one of Nazarick's most loyal and intelligent servants), but I was more interested in the fact that Demiurge's voice didn't appear to actually work on the Emperor, which would certainly suggest that he's a bit more powerful than he appears.

I'd completely forgotten about the old man meeting Ains a few episodes back, but good to see that their meeting wasn't just to get Enri into the Empire, while also justifying hiding the contents of that meeting from us until now.

Other than that, the "Sasuga, Ains-sama" moment was as hilarious as they always are, even as things become more and more bleak for humanity as Ains continues to move towards world domination.

Hm somwhat of a slow episode imo, we got a lot of inner monologue of the emperor and the scene in the throne room basically. Also we now know a bit more about their plans and Fluder's betrayal. Was an alright episode, I hope it builds up to something great. But at this point I'm pretty sure this season will never reach the epicness of season 1 and instead be more similar to season 2.

They discussed uniting all the kingdoms. Ainz Ooal Gown could send spies into the other kingdoms for information, as he did with the Baharuth Empire. Also, he might want to use the Guardians for stuff with Momon.

Yeah no that's not an issue either. He's about to come out publicly. The time of laying low is coming to an end with the founding of his own kingdom. Sides he has plenty of spy mooks he can send out that can't be detected by anyone. Not to mention DOPPLEGANGERS that are better specced for mimicry than Narberal who was built up as a warmage more than an effective Doppleganger

It's always fun getting reactions on how powerful Ains is. And now that he is about to spread his name out into this world, we will see a lot more of that.

And for the war that is about to begin, I think that Ains really want a country with his own people that support him and would fight for him. I don't think he want's a country where he get's the will of his citizens by force or his strength. I don't even think that he want's to rule the world or anything like that. That is just Demiourgos manipulating Ains to do that. Demiourgos is quite smart and he might see a weakness in Ains which is his overall smartness. And then uses that to make Ains agree to things he might not have agreed on unless he was suggested it in a way that if he did'nt say yes then he would look dumb and unable to be the supreme leader they think he is.

It was not that great. The art took a step down in this episode, and the 'war of words', had some intriguing dialogue, but also had some lackluster dialogue too that didn't feel as impactful as it could've and should've been.

Good episode. Still, I think they didn't give this episode justice. They skipped a lot of inner dialogues, which is a shame since they were what made Jircniv one of my favorite characters in Overlord. Throne room scene could have also made a lot better and impactful if they included everyone that should have been present. It's also shame they skipped part about Jircniv bringing those noble daughters to give to Ainz, since it showed he did not just come empty handed to beg for forgiveness, but actually having some plan. And simple few lines of dialogues taking little to no time would suffice, so it wouldn't be expensive or anything. I hope they give more justice to latter part of this volume, since it's one of my favorites. It seems to me like madhouse is trying to appeal to people that watch overlord due to action packed season 1 by skipping a lot of planning they would find boring to rush to action scenes, while retaining enough to make it somewhat interesting for people watching for the planning and world building, but it causes that neither audience can enjoy it as they could have as a result. They really should just focus on what novel focuses on, the latter, and make it for great for appropriate audience instead of chasing 2 rabbits, since we all know it's not gonna work out great then.
