| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Wow...a lot of CGI in here...Looks good too. Mikasa..hehe, product placement. Not a bad thing though since this is volleyball. The swimsuits are quite revealing, but the fan service is surprisingly minimal. Hopefully they keep it as such since that is a good thing. The character designs aren't bad...but they kind of stick out compared to the background. It's weird. Also the eyes are a bit creepy... Making the Volleyball CGI was smart. Makes the animation look more natural. Hmm...Haruka's personality kind of hurts this episode. Everyone's all serious, but she's the only jolly and cute one. Her attempts to be funny didn't feel natural with the rest of the episode, so my head was constantly tilting and me going "huh...". What made it even worse is when Haruka's comedy is done in silence when there is no music or sound cue. It just doesn't feel right. And then we have Narumi who seems all serious, but suddenly shows surprise when Haruka blocks the ball and extends her hand forward for a shake. It doesn't feel natural at all... And the "somebody-quit-playing-sports-because-a-relative-died" cliche...But whatever... It looks good, it animates good, but the direction just feels weird. Well I hope that is made up with some good beach volleyball. Alright C2C, you're Satelight's little brother, so don't disappoint me. |

| Yup fan service show of the season but I enjoyed the episode. I find volleyball an interesting sport but nevet really had the chance to practice it or watch it. I’m wondering how tall Haruka is, she looks quite tall, guessing around 6 ft. Overall, i’m looking forward to the show. |

| Pretty fucking boring so far. I'd expect an ecchi/sports kind of anime to have a lot of energy to it, but this is just so goddamn slow. As of now it pales in comparison to the likes of Keijo. |
| At least no one can complain about beach episodes. Narumi reminds me of Ikaruga from Senran Kagura, both in looks and character. |

| First thing I notice is the use of (and lack of) music, between that and a pacing that puts time/silence between dialogue and action, it gives the anime a surprisingly calming atmosphere. I don't expect a sports anime to be relaxing, but this seems to be and it certainly beats nonsensical yelling. Maybe the beach setting helps that feeling along too. It's comfy. Nice beach bodies too of course. |

| Can't help but cringe, really badly. Everything feels too serious and then Mc is like "ooh sea! Ooh tides! Oooh lets play some beach volleyball match with this rude chick yeaaahhh!" Like the only character being jolly compared to the others and it feels really out of place. |

| lazy animations, over saturation, bludgeoning you with it's plot points, cheesy music, half assed voice acting (in the japanese version), things are kinda just happening with no real reason to care about any of these charecters... I couldn't even make it half way through the first episode, nah, I'm not putting myself through watching this. |

| I literally just watched the first episode because I used to live in Okinawa, I miss it and anime set in Okinawa (entirely) is very rare. It was also amusing the other girls were from Kyoto, where I also used to live:') (people usually don't realise it but Kyoto prefecture got some pretty sweet beaches too btw.) I was prepared to drop it 10 minutes in but it was actually enjoyable enough for me to stick around for more episodes. (but the way no one has stopped the mc and told her about box jellyfish and other crap before she went into the sea with no jellyfish net...unrealistic, lmao) |

| This anime doesn't have the ecchi tag but it already has more detailed butts, thighs and better camera angles than other anime I've seen with the ecchi tag (except Keijo!) And the 4 characters so far have varying body types! Already off to a great start. |

| Even though I've been eyeing this for years, I'm glad I waited until now to finally give it a go. I really got into beach volleyball during the Olympics and was able to pick up on things I would have otherwise been learning from scratch going into this episode (such as footing in the sand & wind direction). I'm also relieved that this is a proper sports anime rather than ecchi with volleyball as a pretense. Though with that said, bikinis as the official uniform is certainly a service that I shan't complain about. |
