It's amazing how enjoyable something with "SAO" in the title becomes when you don't have Kirito as the main character lol. But seriously, this was quite fun and had a lot of meme moments for me. Dudes don't even finish their sentences before getting blasted by bullets and our loli heroine is a tall babe irl. Yep, points given. |
Don't believe the hype. |

You guessed right lol Daniel_Naumov said: Not really, but then again you took your time replying to him, so... Wub wub dubba dubba? The next story in SAO is in the works (Ainclazation or something), and I agree about them making money out of random spin-offs because there is that stratum of "FaN bOiS" who consume everything named SAO, but then again, who does not misuse their titles? (some dont obviously, but not the majority of capitalistic scum), but... As for myself I have found three reasons why there would be value in watching this series: 1. It has a great gaming aspekt I am waiting to be implemented in our gaming, and the game itself is interesting. The "M" interests me as an analyst and cool-headed player, I am also interested in seeing who is behind the character (M means Male, obviously). 2. There is that attempt at, probably, subtle plot (which I admit I attended wiki to see before seeing the series), and that is running away from reality into your NERVE GEAR GUN GALE ONLIIIIIIIINE pew pew. Which is a known narrative, but you just can't get tired of seeing proper narratives. Unless you are on the receiving end, duh. 3. And I also cherish tall girls, which was the initial reason I decided to check out a spin-off. Boy I am disgraceful. I'm a smol girl that's the main reason behind my hate towards sao spin-off -just kidding- Btw i'm interested in Sword Art Online: Alicization since i received a great spoiler lmao |

Pretty good episode. I like how the MC's choice of weapon is the P90, which is my favorite submachine gun. Also her IRL form is hot. Am looking forward to the next episode. |

Better than expected, the studio handled it quite well and I'm more invested in it than in SAO, since it's not just an overpowered MC slaughtering and banging everything and everyone. |

Points given to the anime for actually fixing the issues I had with the actual novel. Since it actually translated to an compelling story or at least somewhat rather than being written about knowledge regarding on guns (that seriously ticked me off). But to be honest I am digging this a lot. Better than what I've expected it to be however... I did felt like they could have done better with this. The production seems pretty missing some parts but it's quite alright. Oh yeah, if they're going to show something for LLENN, prepare yourselves people. |

TBF, while Kirito did end up overpowered due to glitches piling on top of glitches in early ALO arc, I'm pretty sure he's never laid hands on anyone but Asuna... At least until the horribly planned, technically still canon (as far as I'm aware it hasn't been disavowed yet,) epilogue for the entirety of the franchise that Kawahara released years ago. <_<;; As far as THIS series goes, <3 tall girl w/ THICC hips. It was a very enjoyable episode, with the right dose of action and explanations. The first-person visuals with the HUD make it feel even more "videogamey", it just looks like a Fortnite/PUBG match. LLENN apparently uses her stature as a strenght in game combined with her agility, nice. Also, this is the first time LISA isn't singing the OP...sad. The forum is already full of haters tho, as expected... |

Ehh. Not that fun tbh but it was better than when the main show was in GGO. I did like the more action through tactics and less through a twat being OP with a lightsaber but at the same time, it wasn't entertaining for me. I'm not too sure how this would turn out at the end but hey, its better than SAO season 2 for sure. |

can we please ditch Reki Kawahara for this guy who wrote Alternative? please? That first-person view was so fucking nice, it looked like CoD with gay anime shit, i loved it. They actually made GGO looks like an actual game instead of bullshit like it was on SAO. Like, srsly, this was just so good, and Karen is thicc in real life, love it. 5/5, this is already the best thing from SAO franchise ever made. |

In fact I think it suffers more than its original... since the author pretty much took away some of the appeal of the original. It doesn't feel like SAO anymore to me, it looks like its own entity rather than a take of the actual series. It doesn't help that the writing structure is contrived as shit Not trying to be an douche or anything, as its not my intent... but better-written? Not really. But that's an opinion. My first SAO season >_< ahh im so excited and embarassed >_< I didnt really expect what i just saw tho. NEed more episodes to judge it ofcourse, since especially the last part of the episode made me 0.0 really hard. I really like how well 3hz explained what the anime is gonna be about in the first 40 secodns of prologue , very very good. So their world thought that Sword art online game is too dangerous and created a new game which is more safe but with guns instead. Coool, very cool. Karen is pretty cute and her special name Pu-chan aww <3 I also liked when she called herself a Lucky girl in such a cute voice <3 And in general her reactions and pouts and voice is just the greatest <3 I also like the design of her partner. Cool that Karen's main attribute is her speed and how agile she is and her being so small, thats very very cool. And that revelation at the end, whats with that? someone prefers to be a loli more heehee. Songs are ok i guess, when i'll connect to anime more maybe so will my love for the songs :P Anyway very good 3hz, keep going :D hope you succeed with the adaptation >_< EDIT: omg omg how could i forget to mention how great Karen looks with pink clothes ^^ |

Very good episode and honestly, the pro-team did exactly as I imagine real military forces would do. As a military enthusiast, I really enjoyed seeing this. I don't see splitting the team as a fault at all. Vast majority of militaries have the smallest unit a 4 man fireteam. Anymore than that becomes difficult to command for a single person. That's why on squad level, you have one squad leader and two fireteam leaders. There's no benefit in having a 6 man fireteam. A 4 man fireteam will have a grenadier, support gunner and two riflemen which is very versatile. As for the sniper team, sharpshooters usually have a spotter and a sniper. There's no point in having more than that. Having a 6 man sniper team is inefficient. Separating the sniper team allow the sharpshooter to provide overwatch for the advancing fireteam. Only problem I had was that they stood in the middle of an intersection. If you can hug a wall and protect one of your flanks with a natural obstacle, then you should always do that. Having a wall on one flank lets you concentrate that one extra gun else where. TBH, the instant they mentioned the suitcase, I knew it was that. Though I thought it was covering the manhole instead of her hiding in there. __________________________________________ The main team is pretty fine as is. Some of you mentioned 2 out of 6 seems like a disadvantage but its not. As I said earlier, a sniper team only needs two people to be effective. A spotter and the marksmen. Though she doesn't seem to fill her role as a spotter very well... but that's all you need to be effective tbh. Ideally, they would have a fireteam they can provide cover for during building clearing like the pro-team but that assume they have enough players for a full 6-man team. Otherwise, going for a typical 4-man fireteam would be better. ___________________________________ Also, I should note that having the MC defeat a fireteam consisting of real soldiers really raises the bar for future enemies....For something this early, I kind of worry. Maybe they can try to play it off as just good thinking but still. |

LLENN was extremely annoying. I hope she will not stay this way. Small body plus speed is like cheating. At least come up with a new way to be OP than just straight up copy Kirito's agility. And who is that big guy teaming with her? He seems even more experienced than the "pros". This spinoff is a bit underwhelming. |

Despite being a thorough SAO hater i was actually excited for this one, mainly because the 2 things that i despise the most in the main series, kawahara's writing and kirito weren't there. And boy was i pleased, i can proudly say this is the first time i actually enjoy anything related to SAO. The whole episode is just one game of GGO, but i must say it's a pretty intense one, with strategies and mechanics that actually seem to make sense (though i actually haven't put much thought into that). I especially liked that game mechanic with the satellite gimmick thingy that shaped the whole strats and helped in building tension (that thing the main series lacked to me). My only real nitpicks would be that llenn's level is kind of a mindfuck because at the beginning of the ep she seems to be some noob with a cool speed skill asking the pgm guy to provide exposition, but at the end she seems to be a pretty good player and famous one. Idk, maybe something went over my head because i'm kinda tired rn. 4/5 episode, looking forward to the next episodes. |

This spinoff is a bit underwhelming. If you read the LN, it was mentioned that agility build was a huge thing in GGO. Pale Rider was also a agility type, not just Kirito. In fact in the original anime, they showed the LN scene. The interview with one of the agility type players. The only problem I had with this adaption was the rookie mistake for the pro-team to be standing in the middle of a open intersection. If there is cover, use them. Always. The reality of the situation is that well-trained infantry would dominate against any type of GGO player. The modern infantry tactics is developed over 100 years of real warfare, so it's hard to imagine anyone including Kirito countering professional soldiers. I liked the touch of adding them in but if done poorly, you can easily write yourself in to a corner. I still found the whole scene to be a stretch but it was within suspension of disbelief. She had the element of surprise and at close proximity with a fully-automatic weapon in addition to her superhuman speed. I can let it slide given that they played to her advantage. If anything the pro-team just under-performed by being out in the open with no area of cover to run to. A extremely obvious mistake but it was literally the only mistake. |

You seem to pretend to understand much, but still fail to fathom you can not judge the value of the series yet. Which will come around with time, if only you would also stop pretending to be a "gun combat expert" and try to educate yourself on art instead. Actual Art, not shows you consumeric bunch gulp for egoistic self-entertainment. |

There was nothing in their immediate vicinity they could be aware of, except for the fact that the enemy was somewhere there in an open, where they saw NOTHING. Their eyes give the mind the information that the sector is visually clear, why would not they move in? Maybe they should have pushed the bus in the middle to have just some cover, you could argue. Are they supposed to stand still and wait for something to happen? I guess, if they were playing the game. Another thing you all ignore masterfully - they were training, they are not your average shooter player that sits behind corners half the match. Hatism is bad, critique is expected, but constructive critique is welcome. Get your priorities straight, everyone. |

Good thing personal preferences are null while talking art. They were taken aback (AMBUSHED, SURPRISED, STUNNED, UNPREPARED) when she jumped out of a suitcase, giving her enough time to take one out and disorganize the rest. As you have seen, they are usually dealing with retards who shoot until they are empty. Not a speed based player that use surroundings and tactic. Element of surprise seems to be undervalued in the local "professional strategists" forum subdivision, huh. |

I liked this episode a lot up untill the end when she beasts those pros with out much trouble, I hope we are given a valid reason for why she is so good in the game all of a sudden, can run so fast and jump that high. The pros said it best. "That speed isn't the speed of a normal human." They were using the tournament as a means for training themselves for the real world. Her speed wasn't something they would encounter in the real world. So the four who were up close were caught off guard, and the two who were far away saw no merit in continuing since it wasn't something they'd encounter irl. |

Hatism is bad, critique is expected, but constructive critique is welcome. Get your priorities straight, everyone. I wasn't even hating on the anime. I said I enjoyed it and in fact I look forward to it. I just said that the pro-team made an obvious mistake. Also visually clear doesn't make it clear. There's such things called ambushes and snipers. The enemy won't just let you see them. Also the scanner only scans for LEADERS. This means that a non-squad leader could easily of ambushed them for waltzing in the open like that. Not only that, they knew someone was near them. Even if they couldn't identify where she was, why would you stand out in the open knowing someone was there? Assuming she was visually out in the open, you wouldn't want to reveal your position either. There's no reason for them to do what they did. I wasn't complaining that they moved in. I was complaining how they moved in. You move from cover to cover. Also they are 'training' which is weird since the military should have their own VR for training but I can let that go. Just like I can let this scene go since as you said, its not a big deal. But since you mentioned training, yea that's true but they would still be leagues ahead of your average shooter player. As for hiding behind a corner half the match, noo... If you ever seen battlefield, CS;GO and CoD, people run around and jump non-stop the whole game not camp. Regardless, using cover =/= camping. The above was just minor issues with how the scene played out. Not the integrity of the story itself. If you want me to critique the story then I would say the following: Having the MC defeat a fireteam consisting of real soldiers really raises the bar for future enemies....For something this early, I kind of worry. Maybe they can try to play it off as just good thinking but still. |
