Hell id say gundam designs are more original than this (and sunrise have been at it for years, compared to this being pa works first mecha anime). Im probably gonna give it one more ep (2 max probs) but i dont think this will surprise me at all (at least for the better) |

Thats sorta the reason I'm not impressed so far... Im not a big fan of the whole "cute girl/ badass boy who's mom/dad just happens to be the biggest boss in the military and ends up being special or badass and saves the world" cliche Its been used a lot in animes like aldnoah zero (for example), and it feels like this is sorta gonna follow the same path... I mean the mc is some cute dumb bimbo who happens to be a princess (apparently) and got her ass saved by some mysterious samurai that cut a mech with a sword just at the right time..... plus i wouldn't be surpirsed if she has some sort of special power or ability only she can use.... or there's a profecy she happens to be involved with or something I mean, i hope this anime proves me wrong in the next couple of eps and turns out to be great, but the premise so far seems very unoriginal imo and honestly not that well executed... I don't have my hopes up for this being the next angel beats or little busters (in terms of quality, not plotwise obvs) |

| Finally got to see it EP1 today. Just exactly the mecha + legendary myth dosage I like in my Animes :D Can't wait to see EP2. This has great potential to span into a multi seasons long story if they wanted to go in depth into the back story, present and future. |

| I had to make do with some rough subs.. thank goodness gg is picking it up. Those are some nice background and scenery.. but very standard premise for the story. Yukina is so cute and funny. The samurai is pretty cool too. I like the characters for now. Not that annoying guy on the mech though, so noisy. LOL. |

| Ancient artifacts discovered, research facility established afterwards, international high-school close by, powerful being awaken that befriends the other characters, etc etc etc.... it sounds like stuff we’ve already seen many times already... Not that’s a bad thing; it’s just typical, for better or worse. I’m not sure about this one yet. I’m still going to give it a go though since I’m a bit interested how they will handle the story, characters, and world-building. Frankly, the 1st episode was far from being engaging and average at best. I will say between all the originals series this Spring, this one had one of the weakest starts, imo... For a 15th anniversary production, I was hoping for something more out-there (aka unusual and less typical). So far, there is nothing unique, special, or interesting about this,.... again, I’m not saying that’s bad (if handled correctly). I guess was just expecting a bit more out of this first episode, that’s all. |

| What the heck is with the score? I know MAL hates mecha with a passion and the story is something we've seen twenty times before, but the production values are extremely high and I actually rate anime original shows for having balls to be out there without having the cushion of built in fandom like so many light novel/manga offerings. |

| Still has characteristic movements of PA works, which was nice to see. Naked samurai taking down a mecha lolol. I don't know what I just watched, but it was entertaining. |

| At first I did not want to watch it because the studio usually does not make good stuff which interestes me. (True Tears, Glasslip - I dont like such anime.) But since it is mecha and there don't seem to be much other interesting mecha at the moment I decided to watch episode 1. Was interesting. I like the char design. Also the main girl seemed "okay". Going to watch episode 2 ... story might get boring if they only defend against the enemies. (Hopefully there will enough background story to keep it interesting.) But I don't think it will get as bad as Captain Earth. Ha ha. Samurai char seems cool and the other intelligent young girl. Edit: Oh and the mother was cool. I usually like the minor/support chars and older chars more than the main chars. |
| Interesting show alright. This has got my attention. First time seeing a mecha anime and I'm impressed with the art. Naked man fighting with a sword all around is not a lot you see around though. There is a somewhat truth in folklore Yukina's father was researching. And don't forget the great battle at the start in the snow! |

| In the beginning it didn't look that interesting to me, but towards the end it started getting more interesting. I will keep watching and see where this story goes and what the characters are like. |

| I love seeing the samurai in snow trope done with mecha. This show has some great characterizations to start. Solid use of music too. The expossion is a bit clunky at times but I'm glad I decided to go back and give this a shot :) at least for now |

| Really haven't seen much this year and this was nothing impressive. It was just kind of meh...Not a very good start of getting back into some anime. This show needs to have some really good development because as it is it will not impress in the least. The whole plot is typical anime stuff that other shows already presented in better ways than this really and the girl was hardly impressive, i guess the show will try to rely on the samurai guy. We will see. The technical department wasn't all that impressive ether, i don't know why others where impressed. |

| this might be a me problem, idunno if this is the case for other people/everyone, but for mecha anime I feel like if I don't like the mecha designs it brings it significantly down for me. I just finished Last Hope and I feel like I would've rated that higher if I had actually liked the mecha designs. It could still be a good show, but a mecha without interesting cool designs feels like it's missing a significant chunk of the appeal mecha anime have in the first place? For me personally anyway. The mecha in this ep looked so bland and uninteresting, if I'm watching mecha I wanna see mecha that look cool as shit. Hopefully there's some cooler designs later I guess? |
