Next NoitaminA show will be on air on Apr 14. There's plenty of time.
But it doesnt have plenty of chapters. Tbh it maybe will be a bit rushed to wrap those 5 chapters in one final episode, but its harder to split them in to two episodes. Plus, the anime so far very loyal to the manga and not even added one second that not exists in the manga.

Yeah, this is pretty much where I'm at with this. Are both so much in love with her that they are blind to the truth and both think they can change her.... That appears to be the case here, however, she is a succubus and will win everytime because at the end of the day, 0 fu(ks are given about how everyone else "feels"

It's been a day since my previous response... Goddamn it without my weekly dose of Hanabi, I can't live my life! Got to rewatch some Hanabi moments now.

Seeing her grow in the last couple episodes make me so happy. Something about her make me like her so much. And not in the lustful way where you want to look at hentai.
truly attached to this character. Damn first time this ever happened to me.

The end is closing in, damn it.. I really hope they will wrap up these two final episodes decently.

Anyway, great episode. They handled Akane's story pretty well in my opinion. Can't wait for the next episode!

I honestly don't understand how people act like this even in real life. I've had enough experiences in my life to know when to walk away from someone not willing to give me what I need from them, like love. And because it's guys acting like this in the story when the female characters like Hanabi and Ecchan are brave enough to take the L and start over is baffling. Real role reversal than the norm IRL. It's like the slut connotation is getting Akane MORE guys who want her, and not even necessarily for sex lol I don't get the attraction

This episode really outlined how similar Mugi and Akane are. Despite their initial apathetic and collected demeanours, they're actually both very emotionally immature and uncomfortable unless they can completely gauge the thoughts of the people they're with.

It seems they're both extremely afraid of change and rejection, hence Mugi not truly opening up to anyone and also why Akane picks and drops men so regularly. Like Moca, she's "in character"- she becomes the object of desire for the particular man she's with but seems to have lost her own personality along the way :/

I wonder if Akane will stay with Kanai...he might be just the sort of person she needs, because although it seems like she's manipulating him, I feel like he's impossible to manipulate- especially with sex, which is how Akane usually does it.

He's just an extremely selfless guy who's willing to put his own feelings on the backburner...something Akane doesn't understand.

Can't believe there are only two episodes left to wrap this up. I still have no idea where this is gonna go!! XD

A Mugi focused episode, that's why it was so bad lol
And also Akane too, that flashback explained how she became a b***.
Hahahahaha that guy simply came, called her a b**** and ran away xD #boss hahaha
It kinda seems that Akane is developing some sort of feelings for Kanai, but i might be wrong. This is probably happening because a man never treated her before like this, and even knowing that she is a b*** he still doesn't want her to let go.

This episode was kinda nice but that ending, can someone please kill Mugi? When Hanabi appeared and they had that "talk", i had hope that they would refuse Akane and try to change...but no, he is still trying to change Akane...
2 more episodes, i really hope for a "nice" ending, but i think that it's still a big win because at least Hanabi managed to change.
#BestGirl xD

Well spoken! I see two options anyway:

One is the more unlikely option that Akane & Mugi would actually get together and start changing together. More often than not though, two wrongs don't make a right being with each other might not be what they need.

The other is the more expected direction where Akane sticks around with Kanai since he seems to be what she'd need, even if she doesn't realize it. Same goes for Hanabi in the case of Mugi, kinda. In the later's case Hanabi also needs Mugi as much as he does her, but their relationship wouldn't be self-destructive, quite the opposite.

Akane remaining a broken empty shell wouldn't be satisfying for me tbh, since I don't see her as this ultimate evil person. She plays dirty yes, but at the end of the day her trampling over other people's feelings & toying with them has no further repercussions and seems short enough to not cause any lasting emotional damage unless the person in question already had some issues. Most of her "victims" will get over it and some like that guy who's only thinkin' about sex and wanted to get it on with Hanabi will barely be phased by her dumping them.

I'd much rather see her develop some empathy & Kanai might be just what she needs on that front. Perhaps Mugi as well, but Hanabi needs him too ^_^ and he's pretty insecure himself to be able to help her out.

I am starting to come around to this show, perhaps because it's actually featuring some positive character development for once. Up until this point, the show seemed was dead-set on forcing the characters into the most morally compromising situations it possibly could at all times in order to create drama and launch some flimsy introspection. Ever since Hanabi confessed to Kanai and actually spoke honestly with Ecchan about their relationship, however, it feels like everyone has been steadily improving. Hanabi's moving on from her abortive crush as well as deepening her relationship with Mugi, Ecchan has finally come to terms with what kind of person she is and what her relationship with Hanabi should look like, and Moca...she's not around, so I suppose that's positive. Even Mugi's ongoing relationship with Akane, which struck me as really self-destructive when it first became a thing, doesn't seem as disgusting and self-serving as before, especially in light of what seems to be happening inside Akane's head (another example of some positive character development).

All in all, this show is making me cautiously optimistic about how it might end. A good, satisfying ending wouldn't entirely redeem the path we took to get here--some of the most infuriating episodes of any anime I've ever watched have been episodes one through eight of this show--but it would make me feel much better about sticking around. Like this show wasn't a giant waste of time, but actually was a misunderstood and cryptic little gem that just takes a long time to get going.

3/5 for this episode, but it makes me hopeful that something better is on the way.
And what if all love is an act of bravery?

Could you look me in the eye and say that you are not afraid?

(i'm not asking for a happy ending, i just really hate vague/open-ended endings... they work sometimes, but most storytellers are too chickenshit these days to create a hard ending, be it anime/manga, books, movies... U G H.)

The Akane psyche is real. There are people irl married to each other and permit slutting around, trade partners, etc. I think for a normal sane guy to be ok with that is commendable on the outside, at first, but deep down a sane guy will either corrode slowly into insanity or he'll have to switch something off in his mind, maybe that attachment Mugi spoke of is really to the idea of monogami. I think Kanai could make it work, but Mugi...bad end flags everywhere.

Agree. Akane is an elemental force of nature. One hates her or at least feels uncomfortable with what she does. But She's so beautiful and sexy that she can get men to drop reason and common sense and debase themselves for her.

Sensei is th worst. Either he's a beta cuckold of the first magnitude. or he's so shallow that just having the chance to call a beautiful woman his girl is enough for him. I think it might tend to the latter. What a weak man. I cannot believe Mugi can fall for such a wimp.

I do like that they are fleshing out Akane more to make her more human. She's still awful, but at least we see flashes of uncertainty and desire for change. She knows she's hollow and empty, but I think deep inside she wishes it wasn't the case.

Again, I wish they weren't so explicit in the inner monologues so that it would be more fun to theorize, but they basically lay the cards out on the table, so not much to argue about.

Mugi seems to think that he can either change Akane or accept who she is, which I think are foolish goals. Nonetheless, maybe she can really fall in love. She seems to be breaking down her barrier with Kanai, so perhaps it's possible.

I see that Mugi also feels guilt for using Noriko, which is interesting, because once again, they've used each other in a way.

You fucking know Akane owns this show.........every chara's motives and growth revolves around her. Gotta love how deep emotions she brings out of viewers as in hate, admiration or plain disgust.

Had just remembered Zetsubou Sensei's blonde girls dialogue of Japanese men praying to get 'cheating' wives...XP

Akane gets two route infront of her: Kanai's 'don't change' or Mugi's 'change only for me'.

Why does people think Akane needs or have to be saved?
She is not suffering. That's just how she is, even if most part of people think she is a bitch, nymphomaniac or whatever.

There is "complicated" people everywhere (not only on the exact same way as Akane, of course), even if ourselves meditate a little bit can find pretty "fucked up" things in ur minds, but unconsciously we chose to hide them, while still thinking and acting accordingly to those things. That's self preservation, and is not necessarily bundled with trauma or mental illness, nor fear either, because... why/how would you have to explain things that work perfectly fine for you and doesn't hurt you or (arguably) no one else, even if they are "weird" or "socially incorrect"?

Is up to Mugi and Onii-san to act as they want. Maybe they could go away or just keep being there for sexy times, even as the guy who called her a whore... but, save her? be a sweet prince and get the girl? I feel that's not what this story wants to tell us.

Wow, another top notch episode! Their dialogues and inner thoughts were very intriguing and there were many life-truths in there.

I wonder if Mugi can really break through Akane's barrier in the end.. But this ep literally uped her character even higher.. She's really the second best written (and voiceovered) character of this show after Hanabi.

Meanwhile, it seems that Hanabi already let him go, and at this time it would probably be the best if she find someone else finally.

Wonder what's the deal with her brother though. Akane really is easily excited (and maybe even weak) over such acts of sincerity. She probably need a man who leads her, not other way around as most of her previous partners weres. Still, it felt like the brother was only a catalyst for her to realize the truth and it would be Mugi who makes her cry for the first time.

Still hoping that Mugi and Hanabi go their separate ways in the end and end up with different people. Saying that, I doubt it'd happen this way but who knows. I'd actually rather Mugi ends up with Noriko eventually but that too won't happen, I guess.

I honestly don't see why Mugi and Hanabi SHOULD end up together. Just because they both were victims of unrequited love doesn't mean that they should end up together. Heck, what did they even do for each other? Nothing. Their relationship was purely physical, which was the condition from the start but I know that the promise that they won't fall in love might be a plot twist. I can totally see Hanabi wanting to be with him but I wonder if Mugi will ever be free from Akane's clutches. Akane will never be Mugi's but I guess he'll always remain obsessed with her. I think Hanabi should move on with her life and find someone else. The same for Mugi.

... Wow, I actually feel so bad for liking the Akane/Mugi dynamic LOL. All I can say is I think they're both really interesting characters and so this episode that focused on them was really enjoyable for me :P It was really interesting to see both Kanai and Mugi "accept" Akane in different ways. I was really surprised with how Kanai reacted ... especially after Akane was just going to move on, but it seems like even she had some doubts about doing so. Then at the end too with Mugi confessing like that ... hmm. IDK, I just think she's still kind of stuck in a pretty youthful mindset with her seeking attention from both men and women, just in different ways. No wonder she's confused as to why Kanai just wants to date and not have sex which is the complete opposite of basically every other "relationship" she's had with guys :P Anyway I'll be really interested to see whether going on a date with Mugi changes anything for them, so looking forward to that next episode :D

It looks like you missed episode 8.

In this episode, Mugi and Hanabi were about to end together, for real. They helped each other to find the courage to confess. They were there to support each other and when it was physical, it was with them being this time "mentally" honest, not imagining being with their (other) crush anymore. Mugi was really kind with Hanabi and didn't want to let her alone EVER again. Hanabi was blushing and had her heart beating faster because of this kindness and she liked the idea. There were other hints in previous episodes too. The road to happy end was bright and shinny ... if there weren't Akane wanting to play a bit more in the middle.

Seriously, you saying it was "purely physical", you didn't see all the hints showing it was more than that? They weren't very subtle.

Having said that, now it is all different, Mugi chose the possible akane dead-end-or-not and Hanabi is learning to live alone for now. Something has been broken, not sure they could start over with the pieces. We'll see.

I don't understand why Mr. Kanai is acting like how he did. Like is he trying to "save her" or is he just caught in her trap.

And Mugi is now trying to escape??? I'm not sure since he said he's trying to end the attachment. I think he's trying to do something like how he did with the little blonde girl (forgot her name). You know how she went on a date with him and was able to sorta "move on" for Mugi... is that why she was shown for a while...

But there are 2 episodes left and I just wondering how this whole thing is going to end. Like Hanabi is finally chilled out but is that it with her and Do you think it's going to end with them graduating Highschool? Like it's the last semester and it could seem like that's how it will end!

ugh this scene has me screaming at Mugi like when are you going to be over this. Also Akane you know you can drag him right... okay I'm done.

we only have 1 episode more. Episode 11 is the final, this is noitamina's show afterall. Episode 10 ends with chapter 42, only 5 chapters left and thats usual one-episode-worth. Animecalendar confirms that this anime only have 11 episodes too.

I'm liking this adaptation very much, so lets hope the final episode will be good like the rest.

That's completely wrong though. The bluray shows 6 volumes which equals to 12 episodes in total. 2 episode for each volume.
