| Damn. I just remembered that most season 2 anime's LN never really get additional sales. At the same point in time in the airing of Highschool DxD's second season there was not a single back volume on the POS* rankings at all, yet that got a third season. Of course, a third season of a light novel adaptation is absurdly rare anyway. No Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko title has ever had one (this doesn't count). Not even Haruhi did. *Bunko, as this was before the bunsho rankings started. But it's easier to get on the bunko ones than the bunsho ones - KonoSuba vol 1 was 94th on the bunko ranks for this week. |

The POS rankings are apparently based on about 2500 stores around Japan, but they don't specify which ones. Oricon doesn't include ebooks either. I don't think there are any rankings that provide a full picture of Japan's ebook sales - although there are plenty for individual retailers that make up significant parts of the ebook market. Unfortunately these tend to give very different results from one another. They also tend to be series based rather than volume based which can obscure the data. I think it's fairly safe to say that KonoSuba does well on the ebook front, though. |
