THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.

Welp, at this pacing I think every episode will have Aoba building character relationships with even supporting characters like Yun this week.

Glad to see the series also focus on the game making mechanics with actual prototype designs. I kinda like how the show takes on a more fun perspective side at their professions this episode. Really entertaining stuff.

Kou-chan's scolding didn't last which was funny to see also Aoba complaining about her clothes was nice.
Seems Aoba is getting used to things around the company and her designs are getting better as well.

Aoba was late because she was overslept.

She is getting used to things around the company and has a hard time designing the character. Nice to see that she is getting better!

Damn that was like a 14 hour work day, that's pretty harsh for a rookie

Next episode looked to have some yuri implications in it based on the previews

Didn't expect this episode to be more work-based today; it's still pretty nice though.

These people sure are workaholics but at least they're doing something they like this time around instead of being low on money. And Aoba is making some good development too which is a plus. I quite like the direction it's going with work and just having fun at the same time.

This episode impressed me with how accurate they made the work place for Aoba. Models and art for games always get sent back to the artist to make adjustments a bunch of times and it was good to see her frustrated since that's pretty realistic.

Also lmao at you people saying shes working too many hours or that they're all workaholics - if they didn't pull 10+ hour days your games would never ship. Now you're starting to see how hard it is to make the games 90% of the internet take for granted. Shes not even in crunch time and pulling 14 hour days, which is a bit unrealistic but not too far off.

Even more appreciation for the anime bringing so many themes in the game industry to light.
P.s. Artists in the game industry are RARELY paid for overtime.

@sarroush waif hit up this thread with your take on the ep :D

Aoba is the kind of character you can't help but root for. She worked so hard to satisfy Kou, and herself.

Very feel good episode.

Things got a bit serious seeing Aoba working so hard. Now I feel bad for ignoring all the NPCs, even they require effort to fill up an area.

That Nenecchi girl is a bit annoying. Decent episode nonetheless.

Lol Hifumi's reason for being late was that her breakfast was too good. What kind of a reason is that? And Aoba couldn't get up on time because her mother wasn't at home to wake her up in case she overslept lol. And they were so honest that they wrote the real reason for being late despite Yagami telling them that she'll let them off. She can't let them off if they're being late because of taking too long to finish breakfast.

And Aoba's first task of filling the place with NPCs turned out to be too difficult as she had to do it again and again for the perfection Yagami wanted. Was nice seeing her take her work seriously as she was the last one to leave for the whole week, excluding Yagami who sleeps there. And then she gets her second task to do the same thing but in three days. And that will soon lead to her finishing each character in a day. Can't wait to see Aoba sleeping there with Yagami in her pantsu. Also that next episode preview...

I'm watching this before I leave for work, and it reminds me how much I hate being late for work. I was rooting for them when they're running, but Aoba falls flat on her face. Yesterday I was early, but an alarm had gone off in the AM so I was stuck outside the building while security staff were checking it out. For a moment I thought the other workers were looking for Pokemon.

Well that "running-desperately because of late" seems pretty realistic, thanks to Aoba falling. LOL
And Aoba surely a hard-working person. Even when she not have as much energy like Hajime.

Fantastic episode, This show is getting better and better.

Kou-chan was so cute in the beginning <3

Making a single character is definitely hard. I really love how hardworking the cast is. Well making a game is one of the hardest things ever. Every little thing needs nitpicking and corrections in order to push out a decent game. Glad they're showing how hard the job is.

Really liking Aoba, Can't help but root for her.
I loved the conversation she had with Nenechi, The way she discovered how to make her character more lively was just strangely captivating.

I'm loving this thing thus far. Its much better than the moeblobs offered last season. (I gave Bakuon a 9 and the other two an 8 though)

Its unique in the sense that instead of a traditional CGDCT set-up, its basically a workplace comedy. Information about the making of the games created is spouted, but its not QUITE in the way that Shirobako or Sore ga Seiyuu do it. Characters are very likable, the jokes are pretty funny, and the production values are really good.

On a side note, will this adaptation cover all of the making of this game that's been worked on right now, or is that still being covered in the manga? No spoilers, of course.

Now this is what I call a good episode.
The first two were enjoyable but decent at best, but this one is a step above the previous two.

Hope it gets even better. :)

ps.: that running scene with Yun, though, where did I see it again? I'm pretty sure that was a parody of something...

Just to let people know, if you thought that kind of thing, that work-related things in this episode is happening in real life, you better give up with that. this show doesn't potray work-related stuff in real life at all. but well, i didn't mean it in a bad way.

back on topic; great and enjoyable episode as usual imo. really like how they put more detail on "the making of the game" it makes the show looks interesting and more fun to me xD moreover the character makes it looks more fun with their jokes and relationship, problems.....
and btw, the BGM before the ending, that was so nice to hear.....or was that actually the ed song lol xD ? i forget the ed song xD

looking foward for the next episode.

Ahh to have one day, even more so, a whole week to to model and texture a character... I had around 30 min to 1 hour to spit out textured models.. this was in a 3 month project and I was the only full time 2D artist, having around 200 textures to paint. At least they got the time right, my average time when leaving work was 10pm each day. It's not possible to make anything reasonable within 1 hour though.. so of course quantity > quality here :S

This is my favorite episode thus far.

Aoba is kind of reminding me of Shirobako's Aoi Miyamori. Hard working and very determined to get a job done, even on a ridiculously long work day. =)

It's also really good that they've focused on how much detailing and time that's put into the sort of NPC characters that players would pay a bit of attention to, then move on elsewhere. I'm sure hardcore gamers would go to such great lengths to see any kind of inconsistency in the games they play, from the art style, their character design and their animation.

So for that, it's good that this show highlighted the effort that's put into such important things like this. ^_^

Great episode once again!

Man, the amount of work she put in just to create a NPC character is mind boggling.....95% of gamers out there don't even give a shit about how good the NPC looks but the fact that they put so much attention to details in their NPC characters makes me want to appreciate every NPC design I see while I'm playing a game.

This episode just reminded me of Shirobako...A Lot. From Aoba having a workaholic attitude despite her being just a recruit, just like Miyamori to realistically showing us what goes on to designing a 3D (NPC) Character. I was interested in watching the latter because I've only worked on 2D Animation and 2D Character Designs on my Grade 12 High School Computers course and it was interesting to see how a 3D Character is made. Based on this episode, I'm going to assume that it's a lot of harder working on a 3D Character than a 2D Character. Though, I'm not going to say that drawing a character in 2D is easy. It's hard, frustrating if you mess up, and very time consuming but very rewarding once you finish.

Also, yuri next episode?!!!

5/5 for this episode

Majority of all kinds of work, getting late is serious business! and could get you in trouble in the long run!
Aoba did her first NPC model for 1 week, sure it took long but she's just a beginner so it's exempted!
I'd rather have a strict b0ss than a laid back b0ss because you'll be laid back also and would affect your work.
BTW on sadpanda there's an H-doujin already of New Game!.
