I mean, 3 minute credit sequence in the middle of the episode followed by 2 more minutes of basically nothing. O--okay.

Not the best series of the season. Didn't really become attached to any characters, nobody really grew or had any development. The focus throughout the series had so little to do with the actual band-playing itself, I didn't feel much of anything while it was the main focus this episode. As if we were supposed to be proud of them for becoming better, when we really didn't see that much on the band-playing side of things developing to this point. A couple episodes had some decent content, but overall I wouldn't say it was anything special.

I'm a pretty generous scorer when it comes to anime (I basically have a 1-5 rating system that starts at 6) so this gets a 7/10 from me.

It was a pretty good series and I kind of liked the last episode but so disappointed we didn't find out about Kusakabe-sensei. I mean, whose grave is he visiting and so on? Was she his wife or lover? I'd love to know more about him but I don't think we will as I doubt there will be a second season. If anyone is reading the novels and already have the answer, please tell me.

Haruta and Chika are so cool and while I don't really ship them romantically, I like their friendship and interactions. At first, I thought it will be about their love and so on but I'm glad it didn't turn out that way, though I still think it could go that way as I highly doubt their feelings for Kusakabe-sensei are anything more than a crush. Too bad as I like the idea of Chika with him.

To those who say that this is the worst PAWorks series, I'd say Glasslip is worse.

This show was great and not-so-great for pretty much the same reasons. It toiled on some pretty neat mysteries, didn’t worry too much about the overall arch, and had a lot of enjoyable small moments. It’s hard to qualify it as a real ‘band’ anime in the sense that Hibike! Euphonium is – in that the whole purpose of every moment relates to the current state of their band. I can see how HaruChika was trying to do that with each mystery essentially leading to the recruitment or stabilization of one of their members, but it really didn’t connect too well. It all just seemed kind of aside, or that the band part was the aside.

The characters, especially the art and animation, really drove this show for me. I found Chika to be just the right blend of crazy, stupid, and wonderfully passionate about everything she does in the nicest way possible. Although the show could have been mostly about her, Haru’s presence was occasionally interesting. He added that little nudge to get Chika going, and for that they worked well together. Pretty much everyone thinks they’re dating. Oh, but Haru was gay (or bi). Yeah, that never really materialized in to anything. The closest payoff to Kusakabe-sensei knowing how his students felt romantically was a bait and switch in to asking for money! Probably for the best though, because you really shouldn’t be professing your love to your professor! At least wait it out a while. As for the rest of the cast, they each had their endearing qualities. Akari Gotou was super cute and energetic. Naoko Serizawa was clearly the most present of side characters, offering her expertise but refusing to fully join in. The rest of the cast were mostly one-offs and added banter that definitely added to the show – and the twins Asahina twins really stole the show sometimes.

I'll at least miss the eyes in this show. I give it the MAL standardized 7. OK but whatever.

Well.... in the end everything they'd done was for naught since they ended at regionals with the Bronze. Good thing that their sensei will fight with them for another day :P

To be perfectly honest, just like their performance, this series fell short for me. There wasn't all that much intrigue in the mysteries, there wasn't enough drama and because each episode was so disjointed I couldn't even feel the passage of time that they were trying to make out in Chika's monologue (seriously, it didn't feel like "six seasons" of high school to me). The story was too simplistic and the characters were too one-dimensional. Even for an SoL I cannot really say that it amounted to anything. Heck, even Isshuukan Friends had more drama, and that one was already chill as heck. I just couldn't get into it enough to care about the characters.

I have to agree that this has been the second worst P.A. Works series that I've seen thus far (yes, Glasslips wins first place by a country mile). I wouldn't want to watch a second season of this show, specially if they follow the same mold.

Couldn't convince myself to give this even a 7, so 6/10 it is.

A good series, I'd say. Yeah, quite average, but I liked the story, the characters, animation and music.

Just, the ending could've been made more memorable than the back of a bus! Haha, besides that awkward bit, it was decent, I guess. I wish they'd be a proper sequel picking up where the story was left of at.

I thought this was a pretty strong finale other than the weird credit scene in the middle of the episode. It was funny and entertaining watching them tail Kusakabe. They solved Kusakabe's mystery too. (For those that say it isn't solved, what more do you want to know really? There isn't a need for them to go deeper than this, and that's the style in which how past episode mysteries were solved.)

Chika's crying scene was well done. I got some tears in my eyes as well seeing her cry. It's kinda realistic that they only managed the bronze prize.

The start of the show was weak and there were some flat out boring episodes but I really liked the dynamic between Haruta and Chika. I always smile when I watch their interactions. I'm gonna miss watching them a little. For this last episode that wrapped everything up nicely I'm scoring it up from a 6 to a 7.

7/10 overall. I really loved the art, the music was pretty good and I liked all of the characters. Chika and Haruta are a great duo that made me laugh out loud many times. Most (but not all) mysteries were logical and it was fun to put puzzle pieces together with Haruta. There were few mysteries however that I had no idea how Haruta solved (mainly that woman being blind). Also, there were characters that had very little development due to how disjointed the episodes were.

The finale was peaceful and open, hence I am curious about the events that happen after it. But for now, I am satisfied. The characters' development as musicians and a band was realistic which is what I really appreciate even if music was not the focus of this story. I cannot wait for the live action film that will come out in 2017. I also hope that the original novels will be translated into English if they have not already been. I wonder how faithful the adaptation was and whether the novel includes more detail and development put into the characters.

Well its over.
They really didn't do much for this last ep. More than a third of it was just listening to their music which was quite nice.
They stalked him to quite some extent... I'm suprised he's not reporting them or something.
A bit of realism. They didn't win the gold but instead the bronze.
What was that ending? I feel like there is another episode. That was so unsatisfying!

Well that was a nice ending for a mediocre show at best. Their performance part was pretty nice and necessary (it would be very strange and bad if they wouldn't show it).
There is some comedy stuff in the show but it's very bland. The moments with the train money and the new club president were not that bad.
The worst part about the show is Haruta, so much screentime as the mc and so obnoxious all the time ... Don't know if without his character the show would've been better, but pretty sure it didn't add any point for the show with him.

Pretty surprising, don't think it's really popular or it's popular at all. So not really interested and don't think that after the season could handle it.

For a final episode, it didn't feel as much as one to be honest. Granted, the performance was great, but the way it did end, it almost would hint to a second season, but knowing P.A. Works track record, that's almost will never happen.

What got me mostly interested in the show in the first place was for the music and mystery. Sadly, the music part took the back seat to the mystery elements where, apart from some interesting cases, they don't compare that well to the likes of Hyouka or even Sakurako's investigation.

Art style won't compete with Charlotte, but I did warm up to it in the end. The animation remained solid and consist too.

Overall, a 6 or 7 seems a fair score for me. One thing I will miss though is Chika's bubbly personality. =D

Haruto's pro stalker skills though. He'd be a dangerous target if he ever got involved in some kind of bad activities.

And I agree, Chika is lovable. If Haruto was the protagonist alone, I wouldn't have liked this show as much as I do. But no, she's with him and they both bring out something new in each other. They are good rivals, and good friends; i love that about them. Definitely a great brotp (and I wouldn't mind if they end up together they ever move on from Kusakabe-sensei, but only if the are comfortable with it)

Well, they obviously didn't have the budget for the music performance, and I don't mind either. Music was never the focus of the show anyway. It was more about gathering members, exploring mysteries and providing a somewhat unique high-school love triangle. So yup, I loved it for what it is. That being said, it was rushed at end. It's like its gonna get s2 or some kind of continuation, maybe an OVA? I don't know, anything! I want more Haruchika.

8.5/10 (with bias points added) gonna miss it a lot! Wish they both confessed to the teacher though, like the preview hinted. We got trolled, gah. Anyways, I wanna believe in a s2 'cause I'm quite fond of this show.

Well clearly this wasn't gonna end the story completely. Still it was a satisfying ride. You can say it isn't the best anime around if you go quality checking and you may prolly be right, but it still achieved its goal of being an entertaining piece of show in its own unique way, mixing its own elements to make it appealing.

Chika and Haruta are pretty darn good leads, interacting frequently, and while being "rivals" the two just happen to have one amazing amount of synergy. Those two fit so well with each other, that seeing their interactions, be it solving cases, practicing, or just plain bickering with each other, the two always stuck around with their own quirks.

And we can all agree that Chika isn't fundamentally outstanding at nothing, but it is her personality that way how she is like that drives people in.

I've found this an entertaining ride and I qualify it highly because it managed to be one of the series I wanted to watch constantly week after week, for their characters, specially those two, were good enough to make me keep watching and waiting for each wednesday. I'm gonna miss this a lot more than I thought.

I rate this 9/10 since it managed to please me and engage me properly on a regular basis and their characters were appealing enough to be worth half an hour of my life each week.

Don't hold any expectations for the live action >_>
Just seeing the cast alone killed any expectations for me. The two main leads have little experience in acting, they're just cheap to use and are popular as idols.

sutradere said:

There's currently 5 books with 4 mysteries in each. The anime didn't go by chronological order and only 10 mysteries have been adapted (the first and last episode were semi-original). I don't think there will be a second season since it's not exactly selling.

Some anime only at the end give the right perspective from which to watch, some as already happened to me with another anime series, named Tari Tari, only now understand how to frame them and give yourself the answers in the most suitable manner. This anime series has only two faults, one is the character of Haruta, the second is not exploiting the emorme potential that was available, how sad!

again another bad episode. This show was disappointing at least to me, because:

- the mysteries were very stupid and pointless for the development of the show. Probably only one or two were really relevant
- Haruta has this bad habit to follow his sensei everywhere and try to discover things about his personal life. I don't like this attitude.
- Haruta and sensei usually knew everything
- Basically all the episodes we saw the same formula. A new student is introduced and then he/she joins the band.

This anime started pretty good, but the ending really left me disappointed quite a bit! Let's say the first couple episodes were great, had a lot of amazing character development and story development. But down the line the whole focus shifted to something generic which in turn made this anime very generic and with such a lacking ending I can't really say I enjoyed marathoning this anime.

It wasn't too bad, but I can't say that it was any good either in terms of story and development apart from the first couple episodes.
