So recently Funimation announced they will be launching in the UK (march), and as an anime fan I was glad that non-US countries were getting more attention. But since Funimation's videos were always blocked for me in the past, I never got to experience what their streaming service is like. So to all North americans out there you greedy lucky pricks for getting everything first, are they worth subscribing too? I've heard bad things about them.

I mean I checked out their website and I didn't like the interface. Too blocky/choppy. Apparently the UK one will have a sleeker design. I'll wait and see if that's true. For me its the interface and stream quality.

Yup Kissanime and torrents fam.

I've had a subscription to them for over a year now and renewed for another year. They're my favorite US distributor, but I don't actually stream shows on the website; I use a Roku streaming device for my TV, so I may not count if you want to know what streaming on a computer is like.

Keep in mind that just because they are branching into your region, it doesn't necessarily mean you will get all of the same titles. You will however, get as many Region 2/B titles as Funimation buys the licenses for though.

As far as their streaming service, I like it a lot, and Funimation is the largest distributor here and has the most titles, so there is a good selection.

I also can enter... Even they don't let other people enter... they better not cry when they are published in free sites.

I have both a Funimation and a Crunchyroll subscription. In the past CR had more shows I wanted to watch than Funi, but over the past six months or so the situation has reversed. Shows I've watched recently on Funi include

Junketsu no Maria
Kamisama Hajimemashita
Psycho-Pass
Akagami no Shirayuki-hime
Death Parade
Arslan Senki
Shingeki no Bahamut Genesis
Zankyou no Terror

Both Funi and CR are carrying Boku Dake ga Inai Mashi ("ERASED"), though Funi seems to be an episode behind.

In general CR has more moe shows and high-school comedies while Funi tends more toward action and drama. That's a broad generalization though. I'd just visit the Funi website and see what it is in their catalogue.

Their dubs are high quality in my opinion. They just reuse their voice actors quite often however, so this may bother you.

they are ok they have a tendency to sub things wrongly especially with honorifics...
"among monsters and humans, there are only two types.
Those who undergo suffering and spread it to others. And those who undergo suffering and avoid giving it to others." -Alice
“Beauty is no quality in things themselves: It exists merely in the mind which contemplates them; and each mind perceives a different beauty.” David Hume
“Evil is created when someone gives up on someone else. It appears when everyone gives up on someone as a lost cause and removes their path to salvation. Once they are cut off from everyone else, they become evil.” -Othinus

I don't subscribe, but the selection is good enough that I do watch a few shows here and there via the free/with-ads version. The subs are generally adequate, aside from a few bad-luck cases like No-Rin, and I don't really understand the complaints about the website -- are people going there to watch anime for 24 minutes, or look at a website for 24 minutes?

However, Funi subscribers can get access to the uncensored/home-video versions for some shows, which CR doesn't have afaik.

I gave up on legal streaming awhile ago. I tried using Funi's site for a very short time in an attempt to try to get back into legal streaming. It was meh to bad. Their interface is shite.

Their game console app is decent. Shame it's the only one of their streaming interfaces that I like. You can't even carry over your queue in between your computer and console.

For the most part, yes. Although one thing I don't always like is that they at times take too much liberties with the script, such as that godawful Gamergate reference. And I feel that their dubs recently haven't been as good as they were in the past honestly.
