If yes; why? If no; how do you find them?

If we consider:
Long running anime ≈ +100 episodes.

No, but they get lower priority on my list because I don't have the memory span or dedication to keep up with them. Hell, I consider anything above two cours pretty long nowadays.

I'm never going to see the above .Maybe I'll read the manga but watching them isn't an option .

Only LOGH is a possible concession.

Same, but it's because I'm bored of it. I watched 2011 so the 1999 version just seems like a giant recap with shittier animation.

as long it's not full of fillers/slow paced. thou i would watch something like osomatsu (no real continuity plot) for eternity. too bad things like this rarely subbed.

Yeah because I like to keep my anime experience short nowadays since I'd rather just read manga.
I'm also filled with pure-hearted ulterior motives.

No, I don't avoid it. How do I find them? Mainly by just hearing about them in some way, but also by following animation studios list and TV schedule.

Counting with long running from the past and the ones running presently I already have a big to watch list, and then I still get to know every new series that is coming and will be a long running.

I also consider long running any series that has at least has 1 year run. Series like the first Gundam is a long running for me, and it only run for 1 year.

I watched Shugo Chara! and Chi's Sweet Home which both have over 100 episodes. I am starting to watch some longer anime, but I don't tend to start anime that are still airing and already have over 100 episodes. I am also more likely to watch a longer anime if it's split into shorter seasons. I could watch the first season of precure without feeling like I had dropped the series whereas if I watch the first 50 episodes of One Piece it wouldn't feel like I had accomplished as much.

Watched DBZ as a kid. Caught multiple episodes of the rest of them, don't plan on going back to watch any of them except Bleach and I think I started that like 2 months ago and I'm only 29 episodes in. I'd rather learn to love more characters than just the same ones over and over.

I do, and I do very easily.

If a show has 12 episodes I struggle to get through sometimes. There's a lot to absorb and binge watching it takes a lot of thinking. Long-running anime has plenty of thinking but a lot of scenes are stretched out, and it makes being able to sit down and watch a few hours of content very easy, which is why I enjoy these long-running shows far more then shorter anime, and if I had the time every day I'd be dedicating myself to more of them

Oh, but I have friends who watch OP's anime per release. Much hardcore.
You may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing that we call "failure" is not the falling down, but the staying down

If it is good, then I will read the source material if available. If it is good and is anime original, then I will wait until it is done and marathon it. If it is bad, then I will drop it.

To OP: if the thread is a yes no question, why don't you put it onto a vote?

Now I do, because I recently watched ALLL of Pokemon up to XY (that's like 700+ episodes), all of SJ Naruto, and also caught up to Naruto Shippuden... Thats like 1300 total episodes between two series lol.

Maybe i'll watch Hunter x Hunter since it has so much hype (148 episodes)

I try to avoid unfinished anime so I don't have to wait for the next episode. One piece is killing me since I know I'll be stuck with that for the next 10-15 years. Long anime isn't bad, but I'll get burnt out if it's too long. 50 episodes is about the longest any anime should be. Don't want any dragged out anime or ones with a bunch of filler.

Long episode counts raise a big red flag for me because far too many long-running series have a trend of a decline in quality as they progress, and that isn't just limited to anime. This is how I generally prefer shows and movies: tell the story you want to tell in the most concise but effective manner possible, and then kindly get off my screen. If a show should be able to effectively tell its story in 24 episodes, then I don't want to sit through 48 plus a handful of OVAs and a movie. I understand that from a financial perspective it's great to drag out a series, but from a storytelling perspective, it's total shit.
Cardcaptor Sakura was half filler yet it was one of the most enjoyable anime I have ever seen. Even if it was 34 episodes longer than it needed to be I can't pick out a single episode that felt like it shouldn't have been there. There are some anime like DBZ which are extremely inefficient at story telling. There was one fight in DBZ that lasted 18 episodes but someone condensed to 45 minutes by removing the dialogue, flashbacks, and other unnecessary content.

After having numerous bad experiences with them, yes, I generally avoid them unless they really sound good. Longer shows have lots of trouble maintaining their quality and eventually either just get cancelled or end without a resolution to the main story making all that time I spent watching them worthless.

Plus it seem a little inefficient to spend so much time on one show when I could complete 4-8 shorter shows from my Plan to watch list, instead.

Those I did watch:

I tend to avoid series that are more than 24 total episodes (TV episodes). I'll usually avoid them unless I have a long period of time to watch it (a week at least with nothing too important to do).
