It's horrible but with what i've seen (never taking them myself mind you) they should be outlawed but with the obvious factor of "oh hey they make an a$$ ton of money" it'll most likely never happen.

i don't know enough about E-ciggarettes to say "hey go do those instead" or "avoid those too"

but i'd also (prefer) to say use those patches but I've seen recent issues with those patches too apparently.

Sadly their addictive and difficult to get off of. Been trying to get my dad and Ma off them for years. they say they'll stop for their new years revolution...but like the past 5 years i know they wont.

The way I see it, you want to hurt your body, it's your right. But that doesn't give you the right to harming others while you're doing it. If you want to smoke, do it in a place where it's smoke is only going to affect you.

Don't see the point, life is already hard enough. I'd rather not self-handicap myself with drugs that can cause cancer and decrease my quality of life in general.

Idgaf if you smoke or not. It's your life and I'm sure you're well aware of what you're doing. Just don't drag me in it.
On the other hand, I dislike people who start acting like a dumb fucks. Example: "Kids who smoke to be cool and to attract people." And I do care having to actually watch those kids, I would rather look after kids with some brain.

No addiction. I smoke 8-10 joints/day, I stop for long periods of time at least 4 or 5 times every year. Can't do that with cigarettes.

The only downside there is for me is that I'll have troubles sleeping for the first week without smoking, and might smoke more cigs to do something with my hands.

Then I guess you're able to handle the side effects better than others or just ignore any need to smoke or you're just another case in general. The people at my school don't let themselves be stopped by smoking joints. They would walk miles through the rain to actually smoke one in a figure of speech. My ex boyfriend did drag me through the rain (with me protesting, I just hate rain tbh) to smoke one. I guess this has nothing to do with addiction, but he did encourage me to try smoking so meh.

I'm going to be bluntly honest here: they're posers. Yeah, I met some people who also pretended that they couldn't live without it/that it ruined their high school/blabla. They usually don't even smoke that much anyway.

Every heavy smoker I know would tell you, there's no addiction.

I'll emphasize usually here. Because I swear they smoked during every school break and after school they went to their usual spot to smoke. I've never hung out with them without them smoking really. But they were also the kind to talk about drugs as well. All that summed up was enough for me to say that I wouldn't keep contact with them after finishing school.

In general most people won't be honest about being addicted to anything. Addiction means something has power over you and I doubt that anyone would like admitting having no control about themselves but k.

It's the opposite. Being addicted is cool. People will go around spouting shit like "I'm addicted to my smartphone" "LoL is a drug" without knowing what it's about. Physical addiction is a real thing, there's a slight one for nicotine, and none for weed. Then there's stuff like alcohol or heroin/opiates.

There's a difference between a desire and a need. People just pretend their desires are needs to make themselves feel better about the fact that they're not stopping.

Ok. Just to see if I can grasp your point: Do you think people can get addicted to games? The answer on that could actually give the answer as to why we're not on the same page at the moment.

I've smoked for four years, and more or less everyone in my family that's old enough to smoke does (there're probably six ashtrays in my grandmothers house, not even counting the ones on the porch).

Cigarettes are entirely pointless. I started smoking out of a combination of curiosity and the need for something to calm my nerves. They don't do jack shit. But I still smoke them compulsively (every hour and a half or so). No plans on quitting, but it's not something you should start.

Granted, they do feel good at first. The first pack maybe will feel good. The first one is actually really good, I've never done any kind of drugs (cigarettes and alcohol are it for me) but the first one felt amazing. My head became light, every muscle in my body relaxed, and I felt a bit dizzy. That lasted for ten minutes top, and then I started feeling sick. But I wanted to feel that again, so I went for another one a few hours later. It still felt good, but not to the same extent as the first and I still felt sick afterwards, again not the same extent. Repeat for maybe a pack. Now, despite the lack of any kind of high like the first few, I can't go without them.

Obviously as a smoker that comes from a smoking family, I can't hate smokers. Because when I think of cigarettes I think of my family.

It definitely isn't a smart thing to ever get into... lol~

I offer my condolences too. It probably is a hard life if you were dumb enough to get into smoking. A person shouldn't really suffer that long because of a simple initial error and being unable to deal with the initial intense impulses.

I'm not. I'm 110% synthetic. I was created by a high tech science institute to secretly observe MAL. Specifically MAL. My initial observation is high frequency shit posting. I will require further instructions before proceeding with additional mandatory tasks.

And, if my many posts about caffeine and oreos didn't ever tip you off, I got my own vices. Just no where near as pricy or addictive as cigarettes. Or dumb.
