It's a whole different cast of main characters, but supposedly characters from the previous series do make reappearances? Episode 3 for example, has a general making an appearance who conspicuously looks a lot like the male MC from the previous installation, but he is assumed by a different name. Honestly, I'm leaning on to the side of you don't have to. I've played the game before but never finished the anime adaptation. The game isn't bad if you don't want to spend your time watching 20+ episodes. It's part visual novel and part tactical rpg game iirc. It doesn't hurt to have a more holistic viewing experience i guess. |
