| Kyaaaahhh! Sbyrstall's joining the ladies! Unfortunately, Haruno and the other Seido managers take more and more of a back seat as the story progresses so I would say enjoy that ship while it lasts. This show really is all about what it takes to play baseball at such a highly competitive level. And that means zero distractions. Those boys are monks! Well, we usually keep our input under spoiler tags when we discuss the latest episodes since we're not always on the same viewing schedule. And isn't it more fun if you don't know what's coming? That doesn't mean I wouldn't enjoy going over the old stuff again. |

| Always welcoming to the gentleman that venture in, especially when discussing one of my favorite anime. I actually like Haruno Sybr, the females in Ace of Diamond are pretty awesome but like Grif said ...they don't usually take a prominent roll. IF I was going to have a non slash couple though I do like those two. As for the anime itself it is one of the most realistic sports anime airing at the moment. It's one reason I enjoy it so much. Don't worry about Sawamura, the other characters soon balance him out. It's another thing that you will enjoy about the anime it has very good character development. I wish more guys would be willing to step in here. Sure we have our girl talk...and I like our girl talk! ...we also though enjoy discussing different anime in depth. Some times I think our posts get very long but the ones I've read have never been boring. Chelle: !!! You have listed some of my absolute favorite pairings! Cardcaptor Sakura especially. I will agree with you as well on Chihayafuru ... though it's hard to choose between the two with her . D. Gray-man though... Grif: I'm also really enjoying Arslan...much more than I thought I would. I miss the old art but I am getting used to the Fullmetal type look. ESPECIALLY with Daryun...and yes Daryun and Narsus is just full out win. For Kekkai.. I will comment later on utapri as I haven't watched the new episode quite yet...and next week the REAL start of the new season of AnD ! I can't wait! |
| Ha, I just love how Chelle and I have completely different tastes for ships and yet still manage to enjoy the same shows. Hakkai x Gojyo though is one pair I also love from the bottom of my little perverted heart! I don't care if it's cannon, it's still one of my all time favorite ships. Kekkai And BANZAI! We are indeed done with the AoD recaps! I got so excited with next week's preview, you would have thought the show had been on hold for an entire season. I'm such a rabid fan... New OP, new ED and we're back to the good old "Let's win the national title!" at the end of each episode (how I've missed that line!). |

| So I've been getting caught up on all the anime I've been neglecting since my game came out. I just finished watching the first 3 episodes of the Kuroko no Baske Teiko arc. God I've forgotten how much I loved this arc. It's one of the few "back stories" to an anime that I enjoy as much as the main story. Grif, if you are truly, not watching this, I wish there was something I could do to convince you otherwise. It really is a wonderful arc. I love watching how all of the GoM's personalities developed. It does, however, feel a bit more rushed than I remember the manga being. Still loving it. I love this anime/manga so much. ^_^ |
| Chelle I have to agree with you, I wasn't expecting much out of this arc but I kept loving it more and more after each episode. This weekend's actually finally made me love Akashi as much as the others. |
| I am dowloading the episodes for safekeeping but that's it. But I'll tell you this; when I rewatch KnB in a few years, and I surely will because it's an awesome show and there isn't anything quite like it around, I will most likely start with the Teiko arc. The problem is, the GoM members aren't necessarily my cup of tea (apart from Kise) and they even get on my nerves more often than not. They make for delicious fanart, steamy ships and amazing animation, and it's been great to watch them grow and change in their new teams, but I have almost no interest in their back story. The fact that I love this show as much as I do says a lot about how great its secondary characters are, and I'm perfectly content with the way things stood at the end of the semi-finals. |
| Completely understand where you are coming from grif, I just miss talking about each episode with you. It was like icing on the cake but we each like what we like. If you ever do decide to watch it though I will be happy to rewatch it with you if you like ! Until then we can enjoy the Ace coming back, kekkai and I might suggest owari no seraph. |

| Xannieh, I too enjoyed our KnB discussions. Having the chance to chat about episodes after they air does indeed bring the experience to another level. I promised myself I wouldn't watch anything that could make me cry this season. Tokyo Ghoul really did a number on me and just fastforwarding through the AoD recaps had me tearing up! That's why I've been staying away from Owari no Seraph. The first episode had tear-jerkier written all over it. I may pick it up mid-season though and marathon it to catch up. And Kasamatsu blushing should be illegal! Edit: Also, I'm not one to promote fansubs over legal streaming but for Kekkai, I have to say that the Vivid subs are far better than what Funimation and Daisuki are putting out, which is normal since they take 3 more days. Not that I can wait that long so I'll watch the legal stream and download the Vivid files. |

I either watch it on crunchy where I have a subscription or I download it... I'm just happy it's far more accessible than it used to be. I always found horriblesubs..passable...since they are pretty much "official" subs , I just wish it wasn't funi subs most of the time... Thank you for the links grif!! I have been waiting for these!! Chelle: I can't tell you how much I squealed when you added Kurapika and Leorio. They are one of my all time OTP... | I try not to complain too much about the quality of the subs associated with legal streaming. Those translators work under horrendous time constrains (especially as the end of the season draws near) and their scripts have to be approved and often changed by the production committees in Japan before they can encode (that's why Izuki suddenly became Iduki in the 3rd season). Then again, I agree that all streams aren't created equal and Crunchy did snatch the better translators compared to Funi. Still, you can't beat the the love and time that some fansubbing groups pour into their translations. That's why I'll gladly pay my subscriptions for the privilege of not having to wait to watch shows, and then download from fansubbing groups for my archives. Best of both worlds. And when I really love a show, I take another loan and buy the BDs or the DVDs if they're available. |
| No no I agree the legal streaming is actually such a godsend that it's hard to complain at all about simulcasts. I think more of it when I used to buy lots of dvds I would cringe at funimation at the time because some of the translations weren't even close in a few of them. Fansubs ....good ones..were always the best. Cunchy does a pretty good job too but fansubs really tend not to have more accuracy but they seem to be more understanding of the content. The problem is now though that there are very few decent sub groups left. So many have been shut down and it's a shame. Don't get me wrong I support the idea of supporting the industry but at one point and time it about broke our bank accounts. I don't even want to know how much money I have in DvDs. I LOVE the idea that we now have legal options... I watch either on Netflix, Crunchy or I will download the funimation ones. It really is amazing though how far it has come and how easy it is to watch shows now. I remember scouring the internet looking for VHS anime.. being HAPPY to find one that I could afford ...even when it wasn't a complete episode. I always preferred subs.... I don't like dubbing in any form of media... but at that time if that was all I could get .. I would be happy. Then it became searching for downloads and VCDs. Then Crunchy started up and offered a FEW anime... then as they grew so did other sites. Now it's pretty easy to find what you want to watch! |

Since moving to France, my options for legal streaming have seriously decreased… However, I’ve got access to a lot more manga so I guess things do balance out. | I absolutely love how the Japanese really get into pleasing their fans. They looked like they had too much fun doing that!! Goodness!! Such cute Bunny tails! ore monogatari [spoiler] No you are definitely not the only one. Suna is truly awesome, a wonderful friend and when you get past his walls a true sweetheart. Takeo is such a sweet guy too... Only issue I have with him is he reminds me of a real life friend back home in Virginia. Looks like him, talks like him and would be so the type to cheer on the girl he likes and his friend. Yamato is just cute as can be and really happy she is turning out to be such a good girl. Definitely one of the top shows this season. |

| I've been reading a book series called The Selection. It's a dystopian YA novel series. It is a bit fluffy, but I occasionally like fluffy. ^_^ The best way I can describe this book (and it's been described by others) is The Hunger Games meets The Bachelor. LOL. But I've been enjoying it. The main girl annoys the crap out of me most of the time, but I'm still able to enjoy it. I love YA series (I'm a huge fan of several YA series), so... *makes a circle in the sand with her big toe* Don't judge me!! :P |

| Xannieh, you sure are making it hard to stay away from KnB. And OMG Chelle! I squealed so hard at Maki and Kakeru! Love those two together! Who says our ships never match?! Ore Monogatari 04 Arslan 05 UtaPri … is getting the boot, at least for now. I used to feel so giddy and silly and fangirly after each episode. But this season is far too drab for me to keep up with it on a weekly basis. Kekkai Sensen is going to wreak havoc with my anime standards! It’s so… well, bewitching really that apart from AoD, I don’t feel like watching anything else this season. |
| Just sitting here rewatching the KuroFai AMVs, and it dawned on me just how bad Tsubasa Chronicles needs a new show (ala FMA & Hunter x Hunter) now that the manga is completed. I would love to see the show completely redone with all the story arcs and w/o the filler fluff. Tsubasa is actually a very dark & disturbing story once you get past the first few fluffy arcs (which are fun as well, don't get me wrong). I want to see Fai's backstory. Of course, Fai is still one of my favorite characters of all time. I loved him in the anime, but in the manga, he just steals your heart completely. And there just needs to be more shown to explain why he was the way he was. And let's be completely honest. Who doesn't want more Kuro x Fai!!! ^_~ And while we're on the subject of redo's, Kuroshitsuji desperately needs one, as well. One that sticks to the manga. ^_^ |
| Chelle: I will quickly agree on the need for a new Tsubabasa... as long as they don't mess too much with the artwork. Kuroshitsuji is another one I would like to see rebooted but only after they finish the manga. The manga has sort of wandered away from the main plot line , but that arc is over now. Grif: Heh! Glad you liked the Shun picture! I can already tell that they have put a lot of money into this last arc . This episode was really a lot of fun as it had cameos and just everyone getting ready to play. I am happy you feel the same way I do about utapri and arslan. I REALLYY wanted to like these shows and I'm wondering if Utapri didn't get new writers. I am just putting those two on the back burners for now. I figure when I finally get around to trying again I will marathon them. Ore Monogatari 04 Kekkai I can't rave enough about this show, this Ore Monogatari and Owari no Seraph are definitely the shows of the season. |

| The UtaPri staff did change a bit but Konparu Tomoko, who is in charge of series composition, wrote the script for 1000% and the director was involved with all 3 seasons so I don’t know if that’s really where the problems are coming from. To me, it simply feels like they aren’t really trying. I do however wonder if watching Shounen Hollywood might have somehow raised my expectations for UtaPri. I’ll probably let a few episodes slip by and than check it out again once we’re out of that Cross Unit quagmire. OreMono 04 AoD 05 |

| Some housekeeping: Tsubasa Chronicles Xannieh, if they did a reboot of Tsubasa and changed the artwork, it would be completely wrong. You can't have a CLAMP anime and not keep the CLAMP artwork!! That is what makes it what it is (well, that and all the slashing possibilities). Kuroko no Basket Not putting this under spoiler, because really, nothing spoiler about it. But grif, girl, you'll have to trust me on this. Part of the appeal of the final game is the fact that (if they stick to the manga), all the Seirin players get some much needed time in the sun. Even the less used, under appreciated members (including quite a bit of Xannieh's favorite Seirin character) should get some good screen time. ^_^ Now... time to go finish my list...
