While I agree with you aloricg, and quite heavily I might add, you should give at least a little bit of credit where it's due, just to raise your credit a little bit.

Keeping in mind that the topic is "Do you (as in, personally) value online friendships the same as IRL relationships?" instead of, "Is Online or IRL friends more influential/better/whatever than the other?"

While I don't think an online relationship can EVER compare to an IRL relationship of equal caliber, there are people with a lack of experience or an abnormal amount of luck in one or the other. To those people specifically, it does make sense why they would personally value it more.

There are people who have been luckily enough to have a deep as fuck online relationship with someone for 7~ years like Subatonic, but, and I'm sorry to those who think otherwise, there simply is no comparison to a full-on IRL relationship.

You may not see a difference, but that's because you have not personally had a proper IRL relationship to compare your internet ones too. You have utterly missed out.
