Is it just me, or did the OP & ED just spoiled us that asseylum might be absent for the whole entire season? Cause all we get is just memories of her, and stuff like that. So, I guess there's not gonna be development for seylum in terms of character & romance.

What are your thoughts about this? I want seylum back to see what she does to our main duo (plus lemrina is a bitch)

Both her and Lemrina need to go, but I prefer Lemrina turning off the machine keeping Asseylum alive first, then anything goes for Lemrina being killed, something over the top will do.

Yea, I get the feeling that she'll wake up either in the middle of the show, or the end of the show like that Sono Kuroki Hagane show, where the heroine remains in stasis and wakes up literally only at the end of the show. I really don't want that since she didn't die, there must be like a reason why the showed her.

If not it's seriously wtf.

I hope Lemrina dies. God that horny bitch is really annoying, given the fact that she wants to take everything from seylum. But as a villain she's pretty damn good. Since she's listed in the supporting section and that Asseylum is listed as main I hope we get to see some sister vs sister action. That'll be hella cool since asseylum can beat the crap out of people.

How the hell is Lemrina a villain, or a bitch? Lemrina is a victim of all this, and she knows it; she just want to make the best of her situation and be of worth. Plus she's has a physical disability on top of her life sucking.

Actually pay attention.

I have nothing against Lemrina. I understand why she is that way. It's quite human.

But I do have a feeling that she will die though.

When Seylum wakes up is when the drama begins.

I fear Harklight is going to go full yandere and kill Lemrina for kissing slaine.... or something. I don't trust Harklight for some reason.

I see Harklight being killed by Inaho actually, so they can both have friends killed by the enemy.

Once Asseylum wakes up, I think that's when reality will smack Slaine in the face and he'll finally decide to be with Lemrina. That's best for these shippings. I don't need to see Slaine go full yandere.

If Harklight goes the entire cour without doing anything, then he'll be a waste of an introduced character, so he has to do something. We just don't know what that something is... yet.

Maybe instead of being against Lemrina he'll be supportive, constantly drawing Slaine down that path...

Guess we'll wait and see.

I was being sarcastic. No way would that pacifist princess would ever beat up someone (isn't that like obvious). I was Linda trolling, guess i didn't make it obvious enough.

I'm just utterly confused why they had to replace asseylum with some horny princess that we should have feel sympathetic to. At least asseylum had guts and pride

And no, I am not 12 for your information. Don't judge people so quickly ( I know a lot of MAL users are 18-25 years of age, presumably)

No I meant wishing for a fictional characters death and resorting to calling her a horny bitch makes you seem like your a 12 year old.
Sure you don't have to sympathize with her, you can hate what she's doing, and as a villain she is pretty good. Still don't act like a child over it.
She's just a fictional character anyway.

Wow dude. I'd say Lemrina has a lot of guts. What she's planning is pretty gutsy for an offshoot family member who would likely be replaced if Asseylum wakes up.

And her reason for being there was already explained. They need someone to imitate Asseylum and activate Aldnoah drives.

The reason people probably are treating you as immature is because you call her a "horny bitch."

She's constantly whining that she physically disable and that they only keep her alive simply because she is a tool. She uses ale oath as an excuse, and she also manipulates people in return (like that slaine kiss thing, I'm pretty sure she just wanted to kiss slaine since she wants to take everything from her sister)

Sure she's been branded as a illegitimate child, but I'm pretty sure that Slaine had it MUCH WORSE. Did slaine started whining about it liking a bitch? Nope. Also, check out ep 2 forums. A lot of people are hating on Lemrina, A LOT.

Ok, I guess that was a little over-the-top. I didn't mean to insult her that much (my judgment was simply because of my personal hate and biased standards for her). I mean I was ok with Lemrina during the first episode, but the fact that she's already starting to make moves on Slaine made me personally say that she is horny.

So forgive my rude comment, but seriously though. The second episode only, oh god I didn't expect myself to hate her this quick

It is ok to not like a character, it just seems like you said "over-the-top" when the reaction is so scathing.

I personally like Lemrina quite a bit. I don't think she is whiny at all. She has probably lived a sad life, not only disabled, but also in the shadow of her sister with no one actually caring about her. Now, the one time when people need her, most of them probably still don't actually give a shit about her, they only want her Aldnoah. Realizing this, she's about to make a move for the betterment of her own life, to try and claim something for herself as a person, and not as an object or tool.

If the things she wants come at the expense of Asseylum, it probably doesn't bother her that much. It doesn't seem like she regards Asseylum very highly. Either she thinks Asseylum is just another part of the royal family that scorns/overshadows her, or maybe Asseylum never even knew her, in which case they have no bond to each other.

From her view, this is likely the perfect storm, the only chance she'll ever have to become something other than a forgotten tool that no one cares about. It'll be interesting to see what she does with it.

Oh, I get your view point. As I said, she's a pretty damn good character for the villain role in a mental sense. Her tragic story of being someone's shadow, or even lower than that and to finally have a claim in this mess of world.

However, this does not justify her actions. In order for her to accomplish her goal, she'll need to manipulate and crush obstacles and people along the way.

I think your view point is entirely different from my view point. The way I see it, Lemrina's not trying to be her OWN person. There's a huge difference between wanting to be recognized as your own and trying to impersonate somebody else. She specifically stated that she would try to rob Asseylum of everything she had owned. From that context, it's not that she wants to be her own person, it's more subconsciously claiming that she wanted to "become" her sister, and live the life Asseylum had.

So it's not that she wants a place, she wants revenge. If you look closely at her actions, it foreshadows her true intentions of trying to replace her sister. For example, the "can you teach me about earth, Slaine", and the " I wanna explore places" is pretty much like Seylum. I get the feeling that Lemrina has been watching & envying her sister amidst the shadows of the castles. The "I wanna be my own person" thing honestly is just an act. She uses that as an excuse, so that no one will uncover what she really wants and I think that's pretty darn human and downright cruel.

I honestly see her as tragically cruel villain because of this, rather than a tragic protagonist

Hm. I wouldn't actually say we have entirely different viewpoints. You may be right that she wants revenge, either against the royal family or Asseylum specifically. Maybe we'll get some backstory to explain, maybe not. But I think that revenge and finding her own place are the same thing for her.

Maybe a better expression than "finding her own place" would be "changing her station." It sounds like she had a place, and that place was alone and unappreciated, in the shadows. I would bet she has already tried something to change that, but it didn't work, or she wasn't allowed. Given this, she feels the only way to get her place is to take a place, namely Asseylum's.

So I don't think her wanting her own place is an act, so much as she thinks the only way to get something for herself is to take it. For example, I bet she would love to not have to impersonate Asseylum, but has no choice because her words denouncing Earth or their people would mean nothing or wouldn't even be allowed. It may seem cruel, but we don't know enough really about her circumstances or her relationship with Asseylum and the royal family.

If they explore her more, it would be interesting to see exactly what their relationship and background is, as well as how earnest she is in her feelings. I won't comment on whether her actions are justified or not until I know the details. Manipulating and crushing people to change her station may well be justified depending on how she was put there. Or it may be the only way she can ever do anything.

We'll wait and see.
