This one actually doesn't come from MAL, but from IMDb and it's regarding "Bates Motel". For anyone who isn't aware of the show, it's a pretty crappy prequel series to Alfred Hitchcock's "Psycho". Now, most of the review is pretty tepid, saying how great the show is and praising the bad acting, but what really brings it to this thread is the closing line of the review. They say, "The only thing I don't like about this show is how close the mother and son are, I really hope it doesn't end up getting weird between them." Just let that soak in. They don't want the character Norman Bates to have a weird relationship with his mother. Because Norman Bates is the perfect example of what healthy family interaction should be. I just don't know how to respond to this, it is too stupid. |

Lol IMDb reviews are actually worse than MAL reviews. Just check out this little gem I discovered. Its a review of that celluloid abomination The Maze Runner: "My opinion might be a little biased cause I'm a huge fan of the Dystopian and Ethiopian genre. But this movie definitely exceeded my expectations. It definitely trumps divergent by far, might even be on par with the hunger games. This movie was non stop action, and mystery. It definitely succeeded in keeping me on edge wondering what was going to happen next. If you're contemplating whether or not you should watch it, do yourself a favour and watch it, believe me you will not regret it! I cannot wait until the sequel comes out! Great stuff! Well that's about it for what I have to say, you've gotta watch the movie to really understand the good things about it. The movie Is good." That's literally the whole review |

Idk if my memory is just bad but atleast until now, I remember F/Z to be much better. F/SN UBW feels pretty average with pretty animation so far. |

ForgoneReality said: No Game No Life has proven to be a real treasure trove of cancer. The characters doesn't insult the audience with its simplicity and cliché moves like most animes. The brother-sister relationship is surprisingly well established. The humanity is on the brink of slavery theme is also very motivating and exciting. One may find itself cheering for the main character to be the king. This old hikikimori unlike rest, believes humanity's capabilities and this takes the plot to another level, conquering the whole world. What can a man desire more than triumph and glory by unconsciously putting ourselves in main character's place we satisfy these feelings and its more than enough reason for me to watch but the anime is not only about this. You see a young man having an ideal after living hikikimori for, lets say, some years does also makes the start of anime very meaningful especially for some of us who live the introvert life or feeling ennui, depression and etc. One significant part was after the game with former king's granddaughter which he could wish anything but wished to be loved. This naivety of our virgin main character made me think about it for a while. It would be meaningless if our character were to be typical stupid virgin harem anime male character but he isn't and that wish to be loved is worthy of some thought. its my first review if i remember correctly and thanks for reading. Boils down to> I can see myself in the MC and when he acts like a Gary Stu it makes me feel good for being an outcast. God, NGNL is so goddamn overrated. And speaking of overrated. SSJR2 said: Heres some tips to becoming a Fine demon lord courtesy of this manga of course. First Research for many years, find a rare power item that give you amazing powers, and last but certainly not least, make sure your "Stroke game" is Top Notch! lol. This manga is really intersing so far. First story wise i always like to see a change of pace like with anti villian leads or villian leads like in this case so it is a bit refreshing. Also the art is pretty good and i am interested in were this is going. Now for the other part lol. I mean i find it funny and i dont have an issue with the MC pretty much sleeping with almost every chick he subjugates ; cause i am tired of the harems that always goes nowhere or end up just saying F U to all the others for one lame one; so its great to see one where the lead does take advantage of it. I mean thats the point of a real Harem in my opinion. So yea this reminds me a lot of (Re:monster) which i love so i hope this keeps going, i just love the " do what ever the hell i wanna do" MCs in both; but i do want to see more story in it too. Also i of course know a bunch of people will hat on this for the Sex so yea if you dont like this just move on. Rating: 10.0 / 10.0 People are worshiping series from this new genre just because it caters to their wish-fulfillment desires. |

Not THE most cancerous but still Something on Haruhi Suzumiya Kicking off the series with a cast of hilarious characters with awesome personalities, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is one of the best anime I have ever seen. The story is well developed with each event taking place in it's own order... sometimes even blowing your mind. While being quite a mysterious anime, the romance elements are also something to enjoy, and have a love for romance anime, the story wraps up nicely and doesn't leave you with an annoying cliff hanger, but the story is so intriguing you don't want to stop watching it, I have re-watched this anime a countless amount of times, and it never gets old. The art-style for it's time is actually quite impressive, this anime doesn't lack in good quality art, from backgrounds to foregrounds to character emotions and actions, the art style really reflects the actions and emotions of the series, Haruhi's eccentric personality is projected impressively with the drawing style used in this anime. The audio was pretty good as well - in many anime I have seen (And I'm sure some of you guys as well) it sounds like characters are shouting from across the room and that makes for a pretty dodgy anime *Cough cough Zero no Tsukaima season 1 dub*, anyway I never got impatient with the characters voices, they suit their personalities well (Dub and Sub) The amazing soundtrack of this show always impresses me, some tunes are catchy, some more serious, and some really awesome and dramatic, but with all these tunes, they all have had a lot of effort and time poured into them and you can tell. The characters are very unique, portraying individual tactics and frames of mind, now I'm not going to go down to the bone of every single character (I would but we would be here all day and I'm sure you'd rather start watching this awesome anime rather than reading my rants), but a brief analysis is required, let's just do Kyon and Haruhi, Haruhi Suzumiya: A very eccentric, out-going individual, Haruhi is known for her unique way of doing things, which is usually ridiculously stupid, but she is widely loved for it. John Smith (Kyon): Your normal high school student, does his daily routine and doesn't really give a shit about the things going on around him, until he meets Haruhi. *A ship is sailing, don't mind me* Just by knowing the differences between these characters really shows how much personality is in this show, I really love Kyon's reactions when Haruhi does outrageous things, never gets old. I really enjoyed this anime for obvious reasons *Which are stated above ^^;* I recommend this anime for people who love a good hooking story and a wide range of loveable character. And just to show I'm unbiased, an Ergo Proxy one (although this might be just trolling) I just finished watching the series today. This anime is old but I think I wouldn't appreciate this have I watched it earlier or during the airing time. This anime is for adults and one must have a taste for philosophy to finish this until the end. I find the first episodes a bit boring because I wasn't able to understand the happenings and I was expecting something else base on the description. Some of the episodes seems to be unrelated but as it progressed it will give the viewer a light of the significance of the previous episodes. I skipped episode 15 or the game show episode because I thought it was just one of the extra episode to make the series long. but, the later episodes gave flashbacks on it. it turns out that every episode is important. |

Akame ga Killl is clearly a masterpiece as expected from an anime where square enix had its part with it .... this is an amazing anime which pretty much hits you in the face with all the cliche you can have ain a fantasy anime, to make oyou feel jolly... just to destroy alll you're hopes and happiness while progressing.... i never had such an anime that totaly went against my expectation and predictions.... with such brutality that it almost felt nice again... i love teh fact how the made alot of plot twits, these little cheeky sequenzes in it and up until the end you are not quite sure who might be the "good" main char... (okay the anime is call "Akame ga kill" so actually that makes it obvious you think....) well watch and find out yourself... this is a remarkable anime, with very good qualities.... but i would still only go for 7- 8 points... because even thouhg the enviormental artworks ar great i kinda have my problem with some of the character designs... and it also felt a little streched to content in the middel .. but oh well. a wonderful dragic and interessting fantasy anime you shoudn't miss |

A School Days review: "Watching School days... and enjoying it requires a special type of person. The sort that that can view the suffering of fictional characters like a curious (or evil) scientist who conducts social experiments on a bunch of unknowing test subjects (victims) with intense academic interest (while cackling madly). The entire anime is essentially a social experiment taken to extremes. What happens if you take a horny teenage guy with little self-restraint, and give him the temptation of almost unlimited sex? What if you add into the mix a group of fangirls, who tend to always regard sleeping with the guy who sleeps with the most girls as a sign of social prestige? School days takes this scenero to its shocking conclusion... and in doing so, has created some of the most despised anime characters ever known. In this goal, School days succeeds brilliantly. The insert songs, ending themes are some of the best in any anime, the story's dark twists will eat at you, and the characters are capable of invoking the most primal emotions of hate and disgust. That's not say that school days achieves that goal flawlessly. Animations were medicore, relying on more stills that it should. Meanwhile, the second to last episode that portrayed the protogonist final descent to oblivion was rushed. Had the director cut out the 5 wasted minutes devoted to blatant upskirt fanservice per episode and fleshed out the story development, I would have scored the story a 10. Nevertheless, despite the shortcomings, School days achieves what it aimed to do. If you're the sort of person who wants to throw your notebook off the balcony whenever some guy on TV does something dumb or evil, this ain't the anime for you. However, if you're more the sort that want to watch the downfall of a community with morbid curiosity... then there's really no better anime for you." |

It can get repetitive, even for someone like me who finds it enjoyable. Fortunately, OPM's humour still has moments of brilliance such as the revelation about King (the anime hasn't reached that point yet) which, for me, make up for some duller parts. |

But, yeah, I can see it being one of the highlights for many. I am not sure if the anime will manage to reach that part in these 12 episodes though. I am actually not caught up with the anime, but I don't imagine it will go past the arc with Boros. |
