However as a finale (if you can even call it that) it was dissapointing. There was so many loose ends from the last episode and the fight between Kaneki and Jason felt rushed. It would be a 5/5 if it wasn't a finale so I'll give it a 4/5 for this ep instead and a 7/10 overall for this anime. That wasn't really character development, unfortunately. It is but it isn't. He basically broke. We have nothing to go off of (ie future episodes) to see what his character actually develops into. All we know is he snapped but doesn't want to be a killer like Rize, which the final minute numbs that premise. He wants (needs) the power of the ghoul but doesn't want to be a dick per his conversation with Rize before symbolically feeding on (accepting) her. To say he grew up is questionable since accepting power isn't growth, how you use it will answer that question. Unfortunately, ending where it did only shows Kaneki going badass and being a bit cocky doing it. Everything else was left completely alone and thus character development at a climatic part in the story was...well it never will be. The action was cool though. |
| WOW is all I can say. As much as I hate how poorly they adapted the manga, this anime is a thing on its own man. This episode was crazy as FUCK. I knew what was going to happen, but seeing it animated HOLY SHIT. Just seeing jason getting fucked so badly hnng And gotta give props for the last episode including some sexy Rize voice <3 this episode had me shaking from the craziness 9/10. I am pretending I didn't read the manga on this score because holy fuck this was a crazy ass finale, def setting up for second season which I will definitely watch even if its a poor adaptation again |

| I know this show is supposed to be psychological (and probably gross) but tbh I don't feel anything the whole time watching this. It just... fell flat? Aside from Kaneki's struggle in the beginning, everything else just felt dragged on and somehow pretentious. I can't even begin to understand Jason's change to become evil. So he got tortured and now he becomes the torturer to.. what? "protect" himself? that's ridiculous even for an insane person like him. As a result the whole torture scene just became a showcase of Kaneki's VA ability to scream instead of a horror scene. It dragged on so much I had to skip scenes. The action is also just so so, I don't find Kagune being as interesting as other fighting medium from other shounen like teigu, chakra/nen/ki, or devil fruits . Kaneki is useless from beginning to end, though of course being the MC he somehow gets a hax power up out of nowhere and is able to overpower a ghoul with so much more fighting experience and MUCH bigger muscle mass and raw power. To describe this as anti-climatic is an understatement, 5/10. If the general story is like this I doubt the manga would be much better, even if there's more character development for example. |

| The fight was cool and the episode was good just like the first one. The only problem is, is that it is the last episode of the series and even though the fight was cool and seeing white haired Kaneki for a few minutes was cool but...what next? This was a really bad place to end it even if there will be a season 2. If there will be a 2nd part the whole anime would be better as a whole but I'm very disappointed and I'm slightly doubting a season 2. |
| I agree that as a final episode this wasn't to good. Was to abrupt of an ending. As an episode though I loved it :) I actually prefer him with the white hair and all crazy looking lol. |

| I will not bitch around how manga was way better, but there are two things I want to say. 1. It is sad that many people believe Kaneki is badass because his hair turned white. White hair =/= badass, and it has no weight at all in anime. 2. To everyone who decides to read manga, read it from beginning. Story will feel more complete, and you will see real depth Tokyo Ghoul has. |

| No offense but I seriously don't get the people complaining about the episode, I think it was the definition of awesomeness, crazy/badass kaneki's voice was great and the fight scenes were done well, I loved the white-haired Kaneki Only thing I didn't like was the cliffhanger ending, NEED A 2ND SEASON |

| As an ending to the story it kind of sucks really but as an episode it was quite awesome. If it had a season 2 this ending can be excuse but if it never gets one then that feels kind of stupid. Anyway except censoring bullshit the episode was awesome really, i like how they took the whole episode to show how horrible the suffering and torture procedure was. If only it had one more episode. I felt that the music when the fight started was wrong though. The music just seem to have took the intensity out of it to be honest. At that point we should just have their scream and crazy faces not the music theme. | If only they had 1 more episode they could have included Ayato fight. But well, I'm kinda glad they didn't because the most gorgeous parts would be just blackscreened or skipped cause of censoring. They seeriously need an OVA re-edit like Gantz to cover the censored moments - it just spoils the fun, all that half black or blurred screens. Still they did quite decent, although dragged a bit Rize part and missed kagune and kakuya information bits - that's a shame cause Ken was clearly at a disadvantage with Jason's bikaku kakuya. Like those flower field references (hinting at ch140+ I believe) Also why did his hair turned white in a second? I believe it has half-gray in manga for some time and he spoke with Rize with his hair already white. And in anime it lookek like someone threw a bucket of white paint over him. 8/10 for the series all in all. It had such good potential with OST, voice actors and source material. Too rushed, the nicest episodes for me were the ones with a slower pace. Action scenes were too fast too :( I rate it a bit higher that it should be cause it did a really good job of advertising manga, and some bits vere truly fun to watch animated. | for a 12 episode long anime and a fully detailed manga, honestly, it was expected. but i reckon the anime did a good job trying to squeeze as much of the important information in such a short period of time. It makes a viewer, such as myself, who hasnt read the manga, really want to read it now, from the top even. This was such a badass episode. made all the cringe from the torture so worthit at the end. |

| The only thing good in this entire series was White Haired Kaneki. He finally stopped being a pussy about killing. Now that was awesome. That cliffhanger really ruined it for me. Next season better be good. |
