Use this post to nominate 1 anime song. Read the rules over on the main page and don't forget to upload your track someplace.

Remember: the theme is "Love" for this week.

All nominations will be closed after 10 tracks are nominated or until next Saturday rolls around. After that, we'll proceed to a voting phase. Feel free to discuss your nomination or other people's picks in this thread.

Song Title : Sora to Umi no Shi (空と海の詩)
Anime Title : Byousoku 5 Centimeter
Composer/Artist : Tenmon (天門)
Link : http://www.megaupload.com/?d=SIC3LHKX

Love : the whole film is filled with love themes. And I don't know why, but the less love-ish theme is the one I chose. But Tenmon here really did something great. I feel like if the music was showing the cristallization of the protagonists' love, unrequited for both of them but tending to an infinite we cannot see. Going through the favorite themes of Makoto Shinkai : space, distance and love, I know that this particular piece of music is the actual concretization of Shinkai's message. Love is infinite and boundless. Illustrating how Takaki's love interest is far far away and how he has to love her even with all that distance between them, he's like the rocket that seeks the deep space. Well, I'm stopping the cheesy interpretations but Tenmon, in my honest opinion, was really for something in Byousoku 5 Centimeter's emotional strength.

Guess I'll stop nominating movies themes, next theme I'll do anime. = )

this was really hard to decide...I had like 3 beastly choices...but one may not have been thematically appropriate.

Song Title : Seioh Gakuen Kouka
Anime Title : Manabi Straight
Composer/Artist : Yasuhiro Misawa
Link : http://lelangir.dotq.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/seioh-gakuen-kouka-new-version.mp3

An epic accompaniment to all scenes where the song is played, and a great standalone piece. In this arrangement, I dig the electronic noises that add a touch of futuristic-ness. With a simple harmony, it lets the melody do all the work, as it should be. And oh yes, Manabi, Mikan, Mei, Mu-chi, Momoha, it is beautiful schoooool loooooove. Totally platonic, but still very beautiful, a kind of youthful love for youth, if you will.

Song Title: THANATOS ~if I can't be yours~
Anime Title: Neon Genesis Evangelion - End of Evangelion
Composer/Artist: Loren & Mash
Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2XTzvl1nYI

Thanatos is a concept in which a person loves someone so strongly and deeply that the other person cannot love them back enough, otherwise known as unrequited love so powerful that the person feeling it may be driven to commit suicide or homicide. In this song, the lyrics portray a person who is so dedicated to the one they love that they care about nothing else, however the two of them are so fundamentally different that they can never be together, therefor the singer's existence is meaningless. She cries 'what am I if I can't be yours?' This is truly the most powerful kind of love, I'd say, where one's life becomes defined by their love for another.

I am totally off in my interpretation of the theme but decided to give this one a shot anyways.
Song Title : In Memories "KO・TO・WA・RI"
Anime Title : Rurouni Kenshin - Tsuiokuhen
Composer/Artist : Taku Iwasaki (岩崎琢)
Link: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=NXIANKAC

Love is somewhere in there, I think. Maybe. It's one of those "end of movie credit roll while your audience is hopefully reveling in the epic accumulation of one of the better shounen manga-anime franchises that ever graced the medium" piece that combines love as one of its major themes. Short of spoiling, let's just say that the emotions embodied within varies from hate, regret, hope, some more regret, traces of joy and a time-tested love between a young girl and an older man who lived and died sums up better with this bittersweet end theme than the widespread fan disappointment.

Song Title: Fuan (不安)
Anime Title: Bokura ga Ita
Composer: Jun Abe (安部純) & Seiji Muto (武藤星児)
Link: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=07K8Y1DH

The soundtrack for the series features quite a number of love themed pieces, though fuan has been my personally favorite since it's first appearance in the series. A sweet atmospheric piece that has a very nice build up to it, one that was a perfect match in regards to the love that was displayed between the two characters, Yano and Nana.

I feel like I should be using "Aimo" from Macross Frontier or something like that. And I'm thinking to hard about this. :P

Instead, let me go with:
Song Title: Itsuka Kita Michi (いつか来た道)
Anime Title: ARIA The NATURAL
Composer/Artist: Takashi Senoo, Choro Club feat. Senoo
Link: http://www.imeem.com/people/sZ3k6bl/music/j8XgJe_9/choro-club-feat-senoo-itsuka-kita-michi/

Though I think there are better songs in this series even in terms of love (like the vocal pieces) and such, to me, this song felt like a love song to "Neo Venezia" to me. The opening piano notes felt like the start of another day in the city, with much to see and do as things go on, or just to relax with if one so desired, and with the ending held strings signifying the end of the day. Though it can get schmaltzy at times, whenever I hear it, I think of Neo Venezia and Aqua in general. As the home planet is as much a character as the inhabitants that live on it (at least for the first two seasons), I'd to think that this is the "theme song" for the area. And I'd also like to think that this music goes though Akari's head as she explores and enjoys her training to be an undine.

There is also a piano arrangement from Senoo which I believe was used in NATURAL and ORIGINATION here. In my opinion, I feel it's the better of the two, but because I'm not sure if I'm correct in it actually being used, I have it here. If anyone can verify that this version was used, I'll switch the versions. :P

Song Title: Yakusoku
Anime Title: Love Hina
Composer/Artist: Horie Yui
Link: http://www.animeinstrumentality.net/anisongs/Love%20Hina%20-%20Yakusoku.mp3

Looks like Horie Yui gets another representation. Anyhow, I really remember being struck by how poignant this song was when I first saw it in the context of the series. And as a disclosure, this was my first harem show back when I first started watching anime, so it holds a high amount of nostalgic value for me. Now the question becomes whether it's aged well and I'll leave it to you guys to decide that. =)

Yay, this time I get to play the Kanno card!

Song Title: Call Me Call Me
Anime Title: Cowboy Bebop
Composer/Artist: Yoko Kanno, Steve Conte
Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EaTfjBqw9JY

A really, really emotionally touching piece. I'm not too sure if this qualifies under "Love" as it's quite different from what's nominated to this point, but the lyrics and the scene it's played at in the anime sure do. Yoko Kanno really knows how to get the most out of Steve Conte's voice, who also needs to be praised for a fantastic job on this song. I especially like the part after the band solo when the very beautiful violin background is brought to the center of attention in order to fully blossom. I also have to add that I like the live version a tad better than the regular one. It's a pity that it's only available on YouTube in questionable quality.

Song Title :Fureai
Anime Title : Romeo X Juliet
Composer/Artist :Sakimoto Hitoshi
Link : http://www.imeem.com/people/P_GsVhN/music/Bjb6fLY6/sakimoto-hitoshi-fureai/

Hellooo...Humbug referred me here so I thought I'd nominate something. I've kinda been stuck listening to the same 100 or so mp3s for the past 4 months but I've found that this particular theme/anthem in the RxJ ost never gets old. It's romantic and victorious and just makes me feel refreshed every time I listen to it. There's a piano version titled "Deai" and a few other renditions in the same OST album but I chose this one because it's longer and more satisfying to listen to :P

Dwah. Due to regional restrictions with Megaupload I'm not able to preview some of the tracks, guess I'll just have to wait for the nomination thread.

EDIT: And I shall take up the final nomination since Saturday is ending in three hours on my side of the world.
Guess I'll be another one who recommends a song, instead of a piece.

Song Title: Ai no Melody
Anime Title: Giniro no Kami no Agito (license renamed it Origin: Spirits of the Past)
Artist: KOKIA
Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nnbDfs4vPz0

Utterly, utterly beautiful song. What a shame that the anime movie was rather...average. Sorry I can't do writeups for nuts, but I figured that the title already explicitly fit the theme. =3

Oh by the way, mshaydown recommended me this 3 years ago, and I still think it's good.
