From Naturo btw ep130 and 220 is only fillers, or something like that. I agree that isn't as fun, but i also like the fillers and i know that most ppl hate it.

Phantom Troupe (Genei Ryodan)

hands down the most intimidating. First, you don't see them get killed off one after the other. They are an actual group, not just five pairs with one forever alone guy (yeah I'm looking at you), therefore you can actually see most of them interacting with almost everyone else. When they split into groups they are divided in a smart, useful way.

Almost EVERYONE has leading qualities that shows in times of crisis. Especially when the leader's away.

Actually intelligent, when someone comes at them they don't just go "HA! fool! He's crazy" but actually stick together and see who he is, why he's after them, and how they can handle it. All of them are smart enogu, they may have the nerdy guy but not the "smart guy" who is the only one with common sense (since portraying a character as smart means simply making everyone else an idiot)

Every single one of them is a really impressive individual.

Their powers are really unique.

Their designs, simple but work really well.

Are they the main villains of hunter x hunter in the same fashion that the homunculus are the main villains of FMAB?

No, sadly.

you could goolge which ep is filler

" you can't just watch whichever episode "

But that's exactly what I'm doing.

As I said before, I'll watch certain arcs with Shippuden...I will not go back and watch the old naruto. That is final.

I've seen like three episodes of Hunger x Hunger featuring the Phantom Troupe, and that's enough for them to be my favourite.

A few of my favourite groups are:

  • The Kiheitai from Gintama
  • The Dark Guild Grimoire Heart from Fairy Tail
  • The Phantom Troupe from Hunter x Hunter
  • The Homunculi from Fullmetal Alchemist

And Team Rocket from Pokemon, because who doesn't love a villainous group with a fantastic theme song.

I just remembered. I really liked Shishio Makoto's group in Rurouni Kenshin. Not only did he gather some of the strongest guys around, he even gave one of them the right to take his head whenever he had the chance, though that is mostly Shishio's badassness there. They might have lost to Kenshin and the lot, but hey, they were fighting Kenshin and the lot.

Genei Ryodan, hands down. They aren't only badass in terms of unique abilities and strength, they interact with each other in a way unlike other villanous organizations, that's pure gold. Also, they are WAY more genre-savvy than the typical villain group: they are very intelligent, generally not overconfident, they prefer to avoid fighting one-on-one, they won't show off their abilities, in fact they'll avoid using them unless forced to do so (much less disclose information about them), they have specific functions within the group, they think things through and develop deep strategies as a team (and those who don't follow their MO... just watch the series and look at Uvogin). They're not just a bunch of bad guys together, they genuinely work together. Also, their leader has Kira's seiyuu in the 2011 version.

Then it would be the Juppongatana (I got some Juppongatana vibes when I first saw the Genei Ryodan, but they are different in many ways), and a tie between Akatsuki and the Homunculi (I've only seen the 2003 and read the manga).

My favorite villains are the god hand and their apostles from berserk. Aside from griffith though... Nothing says evil then over powered entities that are cold blooded and psychotic.

The Phantom Troupe without a doubt.
strength, intelligence, unique powers, good dynamics between the group,a beautiful and awesome boss (biased).I usually don't like villains but they're hard not to like.

The Homonculus from FMA (brotherhood) would be second.

Definitely the Hommonculi from FMA 2003. Didn't care for them in Brotherhood since they didn't get much development and Father made for an incredibly bland end boss. Actually that was probably one of the biggest reasons I enjoyed 2003 more. I'd take a conflict of ideals over 'sToping th bad alien monster guy frm dstroying da wurld' any day

I love that group too, mainly because Kumagawa. His dynamics with the rest of the class were interesting, and their overall development was nice.

Student Council (Revolutionary Girl Utena) - I'm not sure if they could be truly classified as villains, but they do have an antagonistic role towards the protagonist for most of the series. Each of the characters are well developed and have clear personal motivations for participating in the duels. Some of them I find more relatable and likeable than others (Juri and Miki, namely), but they all add something unique to the series.

Black Moon Clan (Sailor Moon R) - I preferred Sailor Moon S as a season, but I think this group of villains was my favorite. Part of what makes them different is that some of them actually care about each other and have a close bond (Demand and Saphir, the Ayakashi sisters). It also temporarily has Black Lady; it was interesting to see the twisted, adult version of Chibiusa. And Death Phantom (Wiseman) is pretty much the creepiest villain in the series as far as I am concerned.

Grandis Gang (Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water) - A group primarily enjoyable for their comedic relief. I didn't expect to give them much thought, but surprisingly, they do become interesting characters and eventual allies of the protagonist. Sanson was my favorite - particularly his interactions with Marie. :)

Irontown (Princess Mononoke) - This was one of the first groups of antagonists in an anime that I actually felt were sympathetic. They aren't evil, nor are they really portrayed as such. They have practical reasons for their actions - their livelihoods depend upon it. Nevertheless, they present a definite threat to the protagonists, the forest, and the beings that reside within it.

Dragons of Earth (X TV) - Although I wouldn't say they're the best in terms of actually working as a team, it is still a team comprised of interesting characters with beautiful character designs. (Yes, I'm being a bit superficial here.) What is really interesting to me about them is that they have complicated relationships with their opponents, the Dragons of Heaven. Across the two teams, there are former best friends and love interests. Because of this, there is more at stake during battles, because you kind of don't want to see anyone die or lose their loved one. (But you know, too bad, because CLAMP is not at all reluctant to kill off characters in this series.)

The Phantom Troupe ("the Spiders") from Hunter x Hunter and the Homunculi from Fullmetal Alchemist also came to mind, but they've already been mentioned numerous times with the reasons I also consider them favorites.

If we can include groups from manga as well then #1 favorite goes to the Noah group in Soul Eater. Regardless, the next top 3 are as follows:

1. Medusa's group (Soul Eater)
2. Homunculi (FMA:Brotherhood)
3. Kishin Asura's group (Soul Eater)

Knives wasnt a Gun-ho Gun. The Gun-ho Guns were HUMANS Knives consider "useful garbage". Shit, Knives didnt care about any of them in the slightest, even Legato.

I don't recognise them as villians. Since Gintoki is neutral. and they become a best combi. as seen in the latest movie.

If villain for gintama I would say harusame. But still not a fav.
