Chiho is popular. Maou was impolite to Rika, which felt forced compared to his polite attitude toward Emi in previous episode. Wonder what Suzuno was thinking.

That bothered me too. Maou was so obsessed playing the top employee that he was even treating Emi customary every time she went there so why would he be rude to Rika now?

By the way a new ship has said sails. Ashiya X Rika.
The funny moment in this episode where mostly provided by Ashiya. His company explanations and the bro-love when he was talking on visiting with the lower cost making Lucifer call them boneheads where the funniest moments.

Hm, I think setting up the bamboo tree lifted an enchantment or something similar - Mitsuki is too suspicious to be a normal human, and I doubt Maou would resort to something like that... well, what Suzuno believes is what will matter

Between this and Gargantia I'm not sure which is the best of the season for me, though I think Maou-sama! will win out. I'm reallllly hoping this gets a S2.

Good Business episode!!!

I really liked the business strategies that both firms were undertaking to beat one another and Maou spent a lot of effort and time in trying to whats best for MgRonald's despite being in a tight situation. It's nice to see everyone working in a team. Suzuki Rika seems to be have interest in the people surrounding Emi and Ashiya's story was so funny and seemingly realistic at the same time. Suzuki also sparks an interest in Ashiya so it will be quite interesting to see how that develops later. Suzuno is growing even more suspicious as it seems like she is planning something.

Looking forward to the next episode!!

5/5

My guess is that he was negatively impacted by the spell surrounding the restaurant.
I would further guess that Shizuno was so pissed at the end because she recognized it as church or sacred magic, she knows that Emi had been attacked by church magic, and here it was being used in such a crass manner.
This would impact Shizuno in one of two ways: if sent by the church then it shows they have no confidence in her as an inquistor; if not from the church, then the factionalizing of the church is growing worse, and she has a former ally now as an enemy.

Stop Drop we already do know that the church had agreements with some of the devils, enough to promise them a return to heaven. We also know that some of the church leaders have no moral qualms with killing innocent humans (in the shopping mall for instance). And we know that Emi was trained all her life to be the "hero", as such she has never seen Maou's forces outside of what the church has told her or during battle itself, and as such never had a unmanipulated view of Maou's forces. In that the same Church leader felt compelled to kill Emi first, sort of shows how little the Church thinks of her as a being, and more of a tool who usefulness has past. I am absolutely convinced that her "father" isn't dead, but rather is a senior church leader.

So could Maou's forces not be evil and the story accurate. Yes. What the story left out is interesting. It explained why Maou and Ashiya were working low jobs, but it didn't explain why Emi, who was the successful (but young/naive) agent for the rival company, has suffered a similar fall. Ashiya as Maou's strategist may know more than he is letting on there.

I would compare this show highly favorably with Suisei. Emi is Ledo, trained to fight the enemy. Emi's saving grace is that she is actually a true hero. She can't kill Maou if he is not doing evil, and she is starting to doubt what she had been told all her life. We have had some nice character development from not just the MC, but several of the supporting characters, a great deal of clever humor, and a lot of subtle hints that suggests that things are going to get more complex and interesting.

This episode just showed why this anime is actually fucking great....

Almost nothing happened, and yet the dialogue and the interactions between the characters was simply wonderful.

I'm pushing my rating up to 9/10 so far.

This anime has been by far the biggest surprise of the season so far.

I swear this show is about 95% consistent with the jokes hitting, hell even the ones that dont arent even that bad, this ep was hilarious, i was laughing the entire time especially at ashiya's story

Me too - I loved how Ashiya made up the backstory (with some truth behind it), such an awesome servant. He needs to get healthy again, poor guy has been sick for too many episodes now.

AshiyaXRika could work, I hope they'll get a chance to meet again, though I don't think Rika will be involved further into the supernatural matter. She's better off as a "normal" character, I was slightly annoyed with how she acted biased and intrusive towards Maou and I understand his "who the hell does she think she is!?" reaction. Maou did a good job at the end, I'm not sure if the magic was his doing though, must be the magic of good deeds or something.

Next episode - beach time!

As usual, I'm not sure where the fantasy aspect of this show is going. Right now it's mainly focusing on the slice of life/lovecom/harem points but the supernatural side of the show is being forgotten. Yes, there are a few hints here and there (Ashiya telling us more about the conflict on Ente Isla or the SFC manager obviously being the mysterious guy that attacked Emi) that try to steer the plot towards Ente Isla and its story but then it switches back to fast food stores and romance/comedy.
Don't get me wrong- I'm not complaining (maybe a little only) but rather wondering where certain parts of the show are heading to.

The whole Maou Syndicate story by Ashiya was like something out of a George Costanza monologue on Seinfeld. It had me in stitches.

This episode didn't have as much comedy, but it's a very versatile show and made for a great episode anyway.

Rika is such a fun character to watch!
Ashiya X Rika!!

But I also support Maou X Ashiya!

I really loved the backstory that Ashiya gave! It was quite nice.
I also liked the music that played during the story and after it.

I really hate James. (Still calling him James)

I reckon the Sentucky manager is either the guy who attacked Yusa or is just a red herring, I think it's the former since the attacked used his eyes to "Imagine Break" Yusa's Holy Magic.

Episode 09 was jokes, Ashiya's Construction Company Conquest tale was hilarious and is quite helpful in explaining Yuse and Maou's relationship to others.

I guess Suzu noticed the abnormality in the Bamboo tree's decorations, I'm not entirely sure it was Maou's doing though.

In the preview, it seems Suzu either takes a bite in something that's either utterly delicious and tingles her nerves or eats something revolting and wishes she had never had the thought of actually taking a bite or spoonful of it in the first place.

A little disappointed, I wanted more comedy during the narrative plot that introduces the figure of Rika better and maybe in the future there will be some wheat between she and Ashiya. In addition you do not go, the relationship between Chiho and Emilia X Maou Maou or does not advance, and it is unclear where the story wants to parry, only positive thing of the narrative and understand what Suzuno receive in the final, and what is his real reason for being near Maou.
