That reason is one of the common pitfalls of this club: to assume that if something is popular, it should be in relations.
Is Yuno extremely hyped? Most certainly, but we should also objectively access the quality of the character/series in relation to its hype. In this case, I'd say that she's too good to be entered into our hall of shame.

Then again, I seem to have a habit of defending lost causes...
My favorite genres: good Quality, better Quality, best Quality, Über-Quality.
Scoring criteria: Existence does not precede Essence.

Current status: OFFLINE. Even if not really.
I have no Facebook, no Tweeter and no latest fashionable social network. Mail me only if you absolutely must, and I still won't promise to answer: the postman might have been shot by an automated sentry, blown up by a mine, eaten by a shark, or something.

Male Characters like Spike or L or female like HITAGI are also popular but no one HERE say put them into relation so saying popularity=character relation is pitfall of this group might be over the top.
Put Amano yukiteru in list and take out Yunno then(I guess he deserves more than Yunno)

Yuno has a lot of fans, but is also a well reasoned character; on the other hand, the reason why Yuki won't go to the list is the opposite - he's so bad that nobody likes him.

Remember: this is a list for the bad, but over-hyped. Just being either very hyped or bad isn't enough, the character must be well-loved by the fans and have notorious flaws.

People like Nagisa?
As a child, I was told that society is a melting pot of talents; knowledge and experience combined to form important alloys that will contribute to mankind. When I got to highschool, however, I thought that it's more like a river in which the water represents our peers while we ourselves are the stones in the river. Constant erosion by mindless majority sheeping has made us lose our unique edge. After I hit the age of 18, I realized that I've been wrong all along. Society is no melting pot. Society is no river. Society is a person, a very skilled rapist, and he has fucked us all.

Speaking of which, I need to go inform my friend who thought that Sailor Mars had no lover that she did, in fact, have a lover.

Yeah, people seem to like her as a character. So yes, I'd say put her in the relations list. Don't know about Lucy, never seen Elfen Lied.

Also, yeah...Sailor Moon. I saw bits and pieces when I was a kid. Usually I'd hang out at a friend's house and watch an episode of Ultraman or something...and Sailor Moon would come on. Thought it was the weirdest thing. I've been meaning to go back to it and see if I actually will judge it better than that time. So...should I go for it or just move on?

Ummmm no. No you shouldn't. I can't even go back and watch it- I can watch the final season and that's it. It's so chalk-full of fillers that the actual story gets lost in some parts. Sailor Moon is the number 1 offender of the Monster of the Week format abuse. The final season still uses the monster of the week but each episode actually moves the plot forward where the previous seasons' monster of the week episodes did not. Maybe one episode out of every 5 or 6 would actually have real content.

Won't know 'till it's out, but I am for sure going to. I'm still a die-hard Sailor Moon fan because I secretly haven't changed much in the past 12-13 years. I will be watching that as it airs.

Indeed.Actually he was the only character in dragon ball which never irritates me and having Nagisa in relation makes me so happy NEVER knew why so many people like her anyway.

This. Yes.

As far as putting DBZ characters on there- I'm very against it. We've got it on the list, I think that's enough. DBZ contributed a LOT to anime and let's face it, you wouldn't have One Piece if it weren't for DBZ. DBZ shaped the shounen demographic into what it is today- Not to mention that despite his poor plot writing skills, Akira Toriyama is one of- if not the- most brilliant anime artist out there.

lol fair enough.

But Kirito being the character that "defines the Harem lead stereotype" is just flat out wrong. Kirito is confident, cocky, decisive, talented, and the closest thing to a gary stu on this list.

The "typical Harem protagonist" would better be suited to somebody like Rito Yuuki. A bumbling, dense, freak out-having, idiot who lacks the ability to communicate with other human beings properly.

At least Kirito actually had some sort of valid reason for girls to be attracted to him, as opposed to just "because he's the main character".

I agree with you for the most part, Kirito should be known more as the second coming of Jesus rather than Hue Hefner the animated version. Rito Yuki, is an anomaly for the most part, I wish I could just stand around and have females swarm me.

I'd say there are several stereotypical harem leads, some more and some less common.
The "Spineless wimp" is very common right now, but that doesn't mean there aren't Gary Stu types of harem leads. Especially within the LN/VN medium there is a small trend to have overpowered characters with several of Kirito's traits to gain a harem.

I hated VK. It was unbearable to read. Every character was blank and mysterious just to appeal to it's naive audience. Toss the lot in our pits and prepare the iron maidens.

Also, I fully support a K-On character to be put here. But I'm more for Mio than Yui. Yui was consistently stupid while Mio's character would take odd shifts in character between cool "sempai" and panophobic otaku-bait. But if you guys insist, we can toss both of them in our list!
