But I am not saying they didn't do it at any given moment, or that they didn't have an intimate moment. I just find it dumb they doing stuff that involves voxel generated genitals and penetration inside the game. They can get into hardcore SM play, scat or whatever other fetish you can name after they get out, I don't care. The most funny aspect of this discussion: People forget that characters are inside imperfect MMO Virtual reality game that was published in Japan and was heavily advertised in media. There was no age limitation, because underage people are playing this game - even as young as 13 years old. Even if there is option to take of underwear, there would be nothing more to be done - only mosaic. Whereas the ability to conceal death trap in games code is somewhat believable, the implementation of underage sex in mainstream game is not. Just putting it out there Edit: And Asuna and Kirito can have sex in "real" life as much as they want, I have just pointed out the utter lack of logic in episode 10. |

NeverSleep said: Dodo, with that sound, Shino could only look flabbergasted as she watched the mysterious intruder who rolled into the room with Kyouji. Kyouji, who collapsed onto the floor, was bleeding from the nose and the mouth, and a young man she never met before was on him. That person had slightly long black hair, and he was dressed in a similarly black rider suit. Shino thought that he could be another resident from the apartment, but once the guy—or boy turned around to shout, Shino immediately knew his true identity. It was just too... dumb, I had to stop. I knew that was going to happen at the beginning of the scene, but maybe at least once, FOR ONCE, it would be the police who would turn out the apartment. But noooooooooooo, just a Neo wannabe in black clothes again. Who's that Neo wanna-be? I think I can guess the answer. But I really really want to know. :-D |

I can forgive some amount of plot holes and lapses in logic, which are present in SAO (no matter if novel/anime). However SAO is anime that uses MMO as its theme. Consequently I expect it to keep to rules that govern game industry, at least to some degree. Yet you expect me to believe that this game went through beta tests without anyone finding out erotic option? Those kids would start abusing this the moment they found it and people would get wind of it. Or simply - do you find erotic underage stuff in your mainstream games? At least chapter 16 in LN did not show us anything, as Asuna was only in underwear (so we did not know if you can really do anything). Oh, and chapter 16.5 is a simple fanservice and that does not mean just eroticism. Author satisfied his fanbase by giving them AsunexKirito moment. Even if it would have been non-erotic, it still would be giving fans a service. But... I guess people just love idea of cyber sex with use of mosaic. Maybe it is a new kink. |

I dont really care if that scene actually happened in the novel or anime but saying that it cant happen because SAO is supposed to follow the rules of the game industry when the creator of the game removed the log out button and planned to trap 10000 players and all of that simply because he wanted to create that a new reality, and no one ever noticed before the game started is, if a nothing else, stupid. Underage or not anyone can kill, steal for real in this game but nudity or sex would be a problem? Even their parents wouldnt care about that when their kids are trapped somewhere and possibly dying. The beta testers' knowledge was meaningless for the most part when the death game started as you Know. Again, I am not saying that ch 16.5 is truly canon ,but I cant believe that you are saying, something like this cant happen because SAO follows the rules, when it obviously doesnt. |

Including a bit o code that removes log out button and sets NerveGear to deathtrap_mode is believeable, as it could easily slip while beta testing. On the other hand someone on the development team/ in publisher's company would get suspicious if some dude created graphics and animations for genitals and entire routine to simulate feeling of having sex in PG-13 game. Simply, as I said, it is like giving World of Warcraft feature that allows every kid them to watch porn and have cyber sex. And, strangely, nobody cares. P.S.: If maturity was intended feature than we would have blood at very least. And normal corpses. |

Honestly, it would be quite morally justified seeing as death's doors could open for you at any time. Seriously, if I were in his position, I wouldn't of wanted to do it, but then again, I would of due to the uncertainty of living. We have to be the characters to understand the characters. |

Plot hole #2 (also mentioned in my previous post) Assuming the code was there the whole time... why wasn't it widely known after two years of gaming in a world full of teenagers and young people? And Kirito not knowing about it, Kirito isn't a "normal player", he's the definition of hardcore, everyone in the frontlines probably have explored the menu the best they could to customize their HUDs for optimization and etc... he also have a info broker as one of his friends. And I think a reason to not have an impregnation system would be just that, you wouldn't have to worry about getting pregnant..or STDs. |

It would be stupid to think they didn't. Being dressed before the other waking up is a pretty normal thing. I tend not to do it though, cause I like chicks wearing only my shirt and sipping coffee at the breakfast nook. With the art style and everything, it seems to me that Inaba Himeko and Kiriyama Yui had sex... Which is, pretty much, a nuclear bomb of kawaii sex. And I'm pretty ok with it, even though it's usually upsetting since most main characters are *******. It was cute how she reacted to him saying "I just wanted to sleep with you", making her ashamed for the suggestion. |

Regarding Avatar Genetials excluding 16.5 Do the SAO avatars have genetials? my answer is yes, well for males i think i am sure. It was not probably emphasized in the anime but it was clearly told in the LN, (or in the GGO arc?). During the 1 month beta test, male players would feel psychological problems because of missing their 'symbols of manhood'. Knowing this during the start of SAO, Kayaba forced the players to return to their original face and gender during the 1st day itself. Making SAO and the future VRMMO known games gender lock to the real gender of the player. ----- OUTSIDE NOTE: Also majority of SAO players are male but the avatar population had alot of females during the 1st day. Imagine having a body of a digital female for 2 years. |

No, the details about the genitals wasn't explained outside 16.5. Also, the question is why the sex option for prostitutes is implemented in SAO, a MMO for all ages,it's not inherent to the nerve gear because that would be saying that every single application would have this option. Having a 18+ program that emulates sex for the Nerve Gear probably is possible and was probably out there, assuming that SAO was the only possibility of software for the new hardware is limiting this too much. |

The GM of the game did say that he wanted the players to live the rest of their lives in the game, so a sex option is to make it more real life. In the anime the probably did not make love, because they didn't mention the function to do it, but in LN absolutely. |

Yes it was explained actually.... Finding it will be a pain in the ass, but I will do some quick ctrl +f's for it. The recent VR games, for almost all of the titles, forbid changing the sex of the player and avatar. The reason is because the long-term use of an avatar of the opposite sex results in adverse effects for the spirit and body that cannot be ignored. However, I have heard that, because the identification of the players' sex occurs due to the players' brain waves, in extremely rare cases, due to some impulse the system decides with the opposite sex, players have been startled when they dive in. Now that I think about it, changing the sex setting was possible in the original SAO, but immediately after the start, the system reverted us to our original sex, I wonder if after all, it was because Kayaba understood the adverse effects... And with those sudden out of place thoughts wandering around in my head, I finally looked at the male face, and while shrugging my shoulders, I replied. Found it. To counteract the "no genitals were mentioned argument" Sex is defined by the sexual organs one has. |

If we are looking at that 16.5 is non-canon and should have no part to the adaptation, then I can see why there was a guy dressed as a girl in episode 1. If it was(canon), then clearly that is a plot-hole for anyone to see. |

To think that this was another price that I had to pay for playing as a solo player and not having any interest except fighting. But this information raised a new question that I couldn't help but think about. Since I still hadn't fully recovered my ability to think straight, I unintentionally said it out loud: “...Have... Have you ever done it before...?” Once again, Asuna's iron fist erupted in sparks right before my face. "O-Of course not, you idiot—!! I just heard about it from the other girls in the guild!!" I hurried to kneel down on the ground before her and apologized endlessly. It took several minutes before I finally managed to calm her down. Did they do it?Debatable. Is sex possible in SAO?Yes. Game was developed in Japan and it had had to adhere to their law. And i do not believe sex simulator is such an easy function to hide. Asuna was yet to take of her underwear. She was yet to show anything special, but simply loves to sleep naked. Or you are right. SAO was developed in order to appeal to everyone and very well advertised game just like WoW gets in U.S.A. And because children can play it (Silica was 13 years old, if i remember correctly) than such a game would never get truly adult features. it does not even have blood. The scenario in chapter 16 left in perfectly ambiguous - they could do it, but we are never hinted that they did. We do not know if they can, so it cannot be called a plothole. At least this is the way I see it. Asuna took of her clothes but not underwear. We do not know if she really used this Ethic Code off mode, or not. Moreover, we do not know what will happen if nipples and genitals were visible - maybe Kirito would only see a mosaic. Well, it just seem bizzare to me. Even in LN it seemed like such a feature would not go untested by beta testers. Otherwise game would have an age restriction. And I do not believe simulating sex would be as simple as giving them virtual viginas and pinases. It is even stated that SAO was not so great at simulating reality anyway (in ALO I think). |

Bu...But, anyway, can you... like... actually d-do it...? In SAO...?” Asuna dropped her attacking stance and was a bit taken aback, although still furious. Then she asked: “You, you mean you don't know...?” “No, I don't...” Then, Asuna's expression changed suddenly from one of anger to one of embarrassment, before she explained in a small voice: “...That is... In the options menu, all the way on the bottom... there's an option called «Ethic Code Off».” It was the first time I had ever heard of such a thing. He hid a huge death trap in the nerve gear. While not related with the game's features ,somebody should have noticed how dangerous it is.What would happen if the Gear malfunctioned etc....Using the law isnt getting us anywhere.Kayaba could always make the sex simulation features hidden until the death game started. It is said many times that it's difficult for the game to simulate bodily fluids.Blood, semen, vomit dont exist there.Thats why we only see tears(and probably sweat I dont remember if in the LN it existed or the anime added it) Whats the point of Ethic Code off mode,if you only see a mosaic? It's like like having sword skills without being able to use a sword. Kirito states that it wasnt there in the beta test. As for simulating sex. They dont need to make it like the real thing...As long as there is a hole..... Kayaba wanted to create a new world, the reality he wanted. The laws of Japan or the "other" world meant nothing to him. |

SAO was never made by one person, there was entire company behind Kayaba. They would never create game that was against Japanese law. One of the laws is that porn must be censored. Yes, majority of Japanese pornography is censored. Although you see nipples, if I think about it. So, yeah, if even they had sex, they had mosaic sex. Not to mention a cyber one. |

You make it sound like it was difficult for him to do that.In ALO the goverment needed Kirito's help to find out what was going on.What they did there was WAY MORE illegal than virtual uncensored sex(and we are talking about an international matter).NO one can say that the company behind Kayaba didnt make a sex simulation feature(they could always sale it outside japan) but didnt plan include it when the game was to be released there.Kayaba could have put it in without them realizing. And the one responsible for ALO was, in no way smarter(and composed)than Kayaba. |

Two years worth of saved up semen makes a glopping noise as it flows endlessly into Asuna. |

Because when you're patching the client and server software to turn the game into a death trap that will kill as many as 10,000 people, you're so totally going to be against turning off the mosaics required by Japanese law. The bottom line is that the core technology for SAO was developed by Kayaba himself. And that pretty clearly included features that allow sex, or there would be no point to the scene. Kayaba didn't give a crap about laws when planning to make SAO a death trap, if he wanted to give people the possibility of getting laid in the years they would spend in his world, then he would. |

Remember, Kayaba wanted the game to be as close to another life as possible On another note: (just to rustle some jimmies) Why did Asuna suddenly have the discretion to wear a top when she slept this episode? *poke *jab |
