Basically, in the beginning of Fate/Zero, it clearly states that Holy Grail War happens every 60 years. However, the 5th Holy Grail War (Fate/stay night) is only 10 years after the 4th (Fate/Zero). Are there any official answers to this question? Why are the 4th and 5th Holy Grail Wars only 10 years apart?
I was hoping that I would get an answer after finishing Fate/Zero, but it never happened

The Greater Grail needs 60 years to amass enough mana to summon the Servants. However in the end of the 4th war the grail didnt use all that mana to grant any wish and then was destroyed by Kiritsugu.Because of that only 10 years were needed for the grail to gather enough mana to start the 5th war.
in the visual novel it never said it had to be 60 years, it actually said average time was 60 years, and that the time between the fourth and fifth grail wars was the shortest cycle ever
im not finished with it though yet to know if theres a reason why its the shortest cycle
Watch/read the original series before spouting that crap. If you really can't bother then it's a very simple answer. Kiritsugu destroyed the "physical" grail but all the accumulated energy remained behind in the Greater Grail (again, this is all mentioned in the Fate/Stay Night Visual Novel's Heaven's Feel route). This allowed for a few anomalies including the small lapse between wars. Matou Zouken outright mentions this during one of his early appearances in Heaven's Feel when he's debating whether the Matou family should just ignore the Fifth War or compete properly.

True, but the ones who explain this are either not fully informed (Rin) or outright withholding information (Kirei). Zouken is indeed the first one that says there's something odd about it. Well, about that and all the other shit that was going on.

Yeah, years after FSN Vn was released they didnt bother to fix that mistake in FZ.Oh wait there wasnt one...Haters gonna hate

As a foreword, I would just like to let everyone know I am reviewing this as a PREQUEL to Fate/Stay Night and not a stand alone series. It is after all, a prequel.
I must say that I was extremely disappointed with the final results produced from Fate/Zero. As a prequel, I expected to not only show the events of the Holy Grail war 10 years prior to the plot of Fate/Stay Night, but also explain the unanswered questions from Fate/Stay Night. Instead of answering those questions, it created MORE questions on top of the unanswered questions from Fate/Stay Night.
The factor that bugged me the most though about Fate/Zero were the character and story inconsistencies between Fate/Stay Night and Fate/Zero. For example, Sakura's personality did not match AT ALL between Zero and Stay Night. For example, she plays a heartless, soulless little girl who seems to be completely manipulated by Zouken Matou in Fate/Zero. In Fate/Stay Night, she's a cheerful, happy-go-lucky high school girl that seems to hang out at Shirou's house a lot after the death of Kuritsugu. Not only is Kuritsugu's cause of death not explained, but nor is Zouken's role in the Matou family. Did he die? Is he still the family head? There's no mention of him in Fate/Stay Night at all and considering the change in Sakura's personality between the series, you'd think that's a question that they would elaborate on.
There was also very little development between Kuritsugu's and Shirou's characters. All things considered in Fate/Stay Night, you'd think they'd show a little more character development between Kuritsugu and Shirou's characters considering Shirou's whole life view is built around Kuritsugu's heroic beliefs. I think there was more development between them in flashbacks in Fate/Stay Night than there was in Fate/Zero, the very series that was supposed to be the setup for Fate/Stay Night. I find this to be an epic failure on Fate/Zero's part.
Yet another epic failure on Fate/Zero's part was the correlation of the Saber/Archer battle flashback in Fate/Stay Night in comparison to Fate/Zero. Fate/Stay Night made it VERY clear that Saber and Archer (Gilgamesh) had a battle for the Holy Grail and Archer won. Spoiler to those who haven't seen Fate/Stay Night, but (SPOILER) that battle doesn't take place in Fate/Zero, or if it does take place, that battle isn't shown at all (END SPOILER).
So does that make Fate/Zero a bad series? Not exactly. Fate/Zero did have its qualities. It was a beautifully drawn anime with great artwork with a much more serious tone than its sequel predecessor. The music was also great with Yuki Kajiura at the helm, so that should not be a surprise. I do believe anyone that does watch Fate/Zero before Fate/Stay Night will still find it very enjoyable. However, I also believe those who do watch Fate/Zero first and then watch the first episode of Fate/Stay Night are going to be very confused by the inconsistencies between the two series. As a stand alone series, Fate/Zero is a pretty solid series, but as a prequel, it fails...miserably.
As a child, I was told that society is a melting pot of talents; knowledge and experience combined to form important alloys that will contribute to mankind. When I got to highschool, however, I thought that it's more like a river in which the water represents our peers while we ourselves are the stones in the river. Constant erosion by mindless majority sheeping has made us lose our unique edge. After I hit the age of 18, I realized that I've been wrong all along. Society is no melting pot. Society is no river. Society is a person, a very skilled rapist, and he has fucked us all.

Seems to be too well written, like the reviewer understands the mistakes and assumptions Nasuverse newbies make and is doing it on purpose to get a rise out of people. Or it could just be a noob. Whatever

Oh god lol.Did he even knew that FSN anime was an adaption?
And lets say he is right. The flashbacks of Kiritsugu and Shirou in FSN were exactly what we saw in FZ.OH dear God the Fail of this one....
BloodRequiem where did you found this review?nvm found it...
Fate Zero changed some things and I found it hilarious that the things Urobuxhi Gen did change were not mentioned at all. Instead it focused on the things that had proper explanations in the Visual Novel.
Well he obviously only saw the anime, so of course he's not aware of those things.
Also it can just be said that Saber was saving face by calling it a "battle" in F/SN as while she did say there was one, it wasn't actually shown in the visual novel itself.
Not to mention that F/SN makes it clear that she hasn't seen Ea before and she lacks Avalon in F/Z. Any battle she could have with Gilgamesh in F/Z would just be Gate of Babylon spam until she croaks.

She calls any encounter between Servants a "battle" honestly. When she was pressed for more details all she mentioned was that Gilgamesh proposed to her and that she stroke back. Not exactly the description of a "massive battle". Blame DEEN for creative license.

I red liek 4 lines of that "review"
When I red that sakura is "happy go lucky" in S/FN my mind kicked reboot key.
Please contemplate on your actions. 10 years in the mountains should do it.
