I originally played MGS2 back when it originally released at my friend's house. I really liked it so he let me borrow MGS1. Ever since then I've loved the Metal Gear series.

I played MGS on a friend's PS1 for the first time, and the next day I went to get mine. The the other versions came with the Game boy, the PS2... and I hope the PS3.

Un saludo.

I had already heard about MGS since PS1, but only decided to play after MGS3 SE was released. Certainly it wasn't nothing like I expected. After a few months of MGS3 awesomeness, I played MGS1, MGS2 and MGS3 Subsistence (along with the MSX's MGs).

My dad got me and my sisters a PS1 for Christmas, and it came with a demo disc that had MGS on it. After that, I bought a game magazine and saw that MGS had scored perfect 10s (it was EGM, BTW). Dad bought a copy of the game and the rest, as they say, was history.

I played MGS1 for 3 days almost nonstop, sleeping only for 3 hours/day.
The story was breathtaking, and emotion awakening was the best part playing MGS.
When Wolf died I was really sad and angry, However I finished 2 times because there were 2 ending, my 1st was with Maryl and second Otacon.
The ending was just satisfaction after I finished, best part was the ending music
Best is yet to come, It was actually true after that I was waiting for MGS2.

I actually started with Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty(I've replayed it many times) first, I though it was great. Then went back to MGS1 and it went on from there.

I have kept hearing it from a friend who in turn got loads of people playing it, but anyways, so he finally got em over to a friends house, I watched while he played MGS1, then we moved onto 2, then I got to watch the cut scenes from 3, and I played all of the way through 4!
O_0 2 screwed with my mind involuntarily.

Back when I was very little. I played the demo of it on a JamPack Demo Disc that my dad got from the store. He saw me playing it, and knew that I liked it. So he went and bought the real game. I loved it, but since I was so young, and they were saying all these bad words and blood was everywhere. My grandma took the game away from me. My dad sometimes took it from where it was and let me play it. Thats how I got into it. :D

I first got into it when one of my friends brought MGS2 over, along with Devil May Cry, with promises of "hawt d00ds". I thought Dante was too girly lookin. Anyways, I watched her play for a while, and I really got into all the characters and storyline. I was upset when I found out you had to play the rest of the game as Raiden, though.

I started to play MG games on NES when I was little kid (somewhere age of 6-8), so it wasn't that big leap to get first MGS game in PSX when it came to stores.

I love Tench, and really got into the stealth game play, then I rembered readingan artical that said that while Tenchu praticly invented the Stealth genra that Metal Gear Solid stole its thunder.

So I thought if it was good enough ti do that then perhaps I should chek it out.
So I got e Demo and pplaed the Dock scene and after that I was hooked.

Got MGS1 back when it was first released for the PS1. I don't remember the details exactly like if it was a birthday present or whatever. Just that I had it and I loved it. Followed the series since then.

I have to admit, I got into MGS via The Twin Snakes on Gamecube. I did have MGS1 on Playstation back in the day, but I was not into it and never beat it.

6 years later, I got into Metal Gear via Twin Snakes and loved it! Then I rocked MGS2, and MGS3 was new at that time also. And of course, I was a fan well ready when MGS4 came out, best game in existence.

I've also rocked the MSX games MG and MG2, etc. Can't wait for MGS: Rising!

Best series ever. Here, in the cardboard box...

My friends play the demo version of MGS 1.
I like to hidden, make surprise attack, leave footprints, ... deathly, fast and silent like the snake.

I've always enjoyed being stealth like in games like shooting some with a sniper rifle and I was saying to people that I wanted a game that was nothing but being stealthy and then I was told about Metal Gear Solid, tracked those games down and I've been addicted ever since

How did I get into Metal Gear? Well?
Lecture time. Kinda
I guess it started when I saw Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater and I just fell in love with that game, it was one of the best stealth games I had ever played, 2 years later I saw Metal Gear Sons of Liberty and I thought "Let's give it a go" I was slightly surprised it was a different character but I didn't mind, as I was playing it I was just in love with the game, MGS3 was still better but still, good game.
After that I was just in love with the series all together.
Actually I'm planning to have a Chronological Marathon of all the main Metal Gear games, I'm just missing 4 games and then I'll be ready.
All I need is
Metal Gear Solid
Metal Gear
Metal Gear 2
and Metal gear solid Peace Walker
I plan to do this with in the next month

I was 11 years old. I was at a friend's house. I was playing on PS1 Resident Evil, when suddenly, I saw the cover of Metal Gear Solid. I asked my friend what was the game was about, and he said it was about spies, soldiers, and so on. So I started to play it. Firstly, I thought the game was a shit, but after playing it a bit more, I fell in love with the story, characters, gameplay... everything was perfect. So I played all the games released up to nowadays...
